Go to the downloader menu (The thing that shows the progress of the download)

right-click the program that was downloaded and hit 'open containing folder'

then drag it to your desktop

OR if that doesnt work, go to my documents, or my computer, whatever you want, and search your files for the name of the file you're downloading

drag it to the desktop

from there just read the description

It worked for me... I was on 2nd Gen iPod 2.2.1 using iTunes 9.0.3... I got the Incompatible firmware message at first. But I just redownloaded the file.. Anyone getting that message may have a corrupted ipsw file. I'm on a OS X 10.5 as well. Good Luck.. cheers. Oh and I was NOT in DFU mode...

Dont really, the dont verify it. If you have the firmware the automatically assums you bought it. Dont stress man. If your ipod fucks up just go to itunes plug your ipod in and hit restore.
