The perfect exemple of the anglo-saxon propaganda movie.
Of course, the English are the good and the French the vilains who are defeated... And Ridley Scott called his movie "historical???"...
Lol the GREAT SO-Called "English" hero Richard the Lion Heart did not even speak English just French!
You'll see perfidious Philippe Auguste army destroyed among the british coast (that just NEVER happened !!) and french flags sink meaning the lost of a war that french actually won !!(stupid)
@Freez57fr OH shut the fuck up!! Richard lionheart Did not fight for France, he fought for England. In England, we have a German queen who represents and fights for Britain.
U shut the fuck up sir : Richard was a plantagenest prince and fought for the Angevin empire. England was only a part of his kingdom and he didn't give a shit about it (spend only 6 months in England to raise founds for the crusades). 100% French blood flew on his veins. Now, don't u dare compare England in 1200 and England in the modern times cause u obviously don't know much about those times.
@townsley2 Does not matter what blood flew through his veins, Just like how it does not matter that German blood flows through Queen Elizabeth 2 veins and flew through queen victoria veins. Fact is that Richard and Norman rulers of England fought for England against France. That is why England owned half of France including Paris.
"That is why England owned half of France including Paris." completely wrong & stupid : England owned half of France only because of the angevin heritage when Henri Plantagenest (french guy) became the first king of the dynasty and married Alienor d'Aquitaine (french lady). De facto, the Angevin empire became the largest western europe empire including England. You don't know shit and stick to a biaised read of history. And Paris had been english only 215 years later...
@townsley2 Henry ii of England 1154–1189 own claim to the throne of England was strengthened by his descent from both the English Saxon kings and the kings of Scotland through his maternal grandmother Matilda of Scotland, whose father was Malcolm III of Scotland and whose mother was Margaret of Wessex (St. Margaret of Scotland), granddaughter of Edmund Ironside. As you see, mixed heritage and blood, which means it don't really matter much.
@NumberDne England was ruled by french kings (from Anjou, Maine or Aquitaine) who were most interested in their continental possessions. For example, Poitiers had been the capital city of that empire, not London. Also, French capetian kings(Philippe Auguste and St Louis) fucked them during the Bouvines and Saintonge war (1215 to 1242). So yes Blood matter sir : Elisabeth is English, Richard was French. I don't care if english propaganda tries to raise him as an english hero: he clearly was not !
@townsley2 they were kings of England not France. France had your own kings so stop trying to steal Britain's glory. Elizabeth is German Queen Victoria German, King william of Orange of Britain was Dutch, King william 1st of England was Norman Viking and was relative of King alfred the great with lagitimate claim to throne of England. Britain has had many rulers with different ancestry. Danish, German etc So blood dont matter. They fought for England against France.
fucking obtuse. Can't u read ? It's there in black and white !! the main difference between those leaders ur talking about is that Richard spoke only french and never stepped a single foot in England. His empire was mainly a continental one (King of England was only one of his tltles). "Steal Britain's glory ?" there wasn't even a Britain in the medival times u moron !! Also once again there's no glory to steal cause plantagenest lost all of their war against France. Now fuck off !
@townsley2 So what if Richard spoke only French? French was main language then so not surprising. He was born in England so how can you say never stepped foot in England? Yes he stayedin Aquitaine region of his territory but is understandable as Aquitaine is closer to mainland europe therefore closer to crusades etc. Anyway we shouldn't really be arguing because England and France have shared history, We are more alike than we admit to be. we are very simillar and are now very close allies.

@townsley2 But i say again that the kings and queens of europe had and still have mixed heritage with no real allegience to any country. crossbreeding between european royal families makes most of the kings and queens across europe related in some way. We the people were only used by them to serve the monarchs and pay taxes to them.
Russell Crowe is a brilliant actor; age has nothing to do with it. It's not like he's 65 running around in tights and a hoody, ffs. This man has been rated many times the sexiest man alive and I strongly agree. He's everything a man should be, strong, furry, kind, protective, courageous. I'm so tired of seeing all these 20 something year old scrawny boys that haven't even made it out of puberty yet.
I don't care what anyone says I like Russel Crowe. What I want to know is who is going to play Little John? And yes Ridley Scott directed Gladiator. Also an awesome movie.
