  • This production is much better than the orignal series, which incidentally, turned out to be declining every year. This film is serious, dark, grim and realistic, with a great job of director, and very beautiful photo and wonderful soundtrack. Excellent production, I think one of the best thrillers I've ever seen.

  • "What would yu' take to be a parson?"

He drawled it out in his gently way, precisely as if no nine days stood between it and our last real intercourse.

"Beats the English one? Archbishop -- ain't it? of Canterbury? The Pope comes ahead of him?

"His Holiness would say so if his Grace did not."

The Virginian turned half in his saddle to see my face. I was, at the moment riding not quite

Oh sorry guys, I am reading a book, not paying attention to this movie (Trying to better my mind I guess)

  • Great job

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Michael Mann--awesome--simply awesome job. l No one but you could--would have--done it so well. KUDOS to all the cast,. Just wish John Hawkes had been on longer! Great, great actor, & I so hope he wins this years Best Supporting! Colin / Jamie were spot-on perfect. Wolfsky9

  • Geriausias filmas:pradedant aktoriais,soundtracku ,vaizdais ir t.t

  • a copy more or less good Crockett and Tubbs Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas will always be number one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Heat" is FAR superior to this film. "Heat" is just a masterpiece, probably Mann's best film. You guys need to check out, "Manhunter," "Collateral" and "The Insider."

  • magnifico.

  • just like the movie heat michael mann was great on that also

  • Clearly the original theme would have been the better choice , a respectful nod to its classic value. I believe ultimately it wasn't an artistic decision , but the need of the entertainment conglomerate to feed its component parts - in this case , to throw a bone to & promote their associated recording artists. Just business.

  • whats the song can some1 tell me plz

  • i don't know why people didn't liked that movie..i mean it was one hell of a movie..or maybe i just like Mann's movies too much..

  • The original theme music would have been as fitting as using Peter Cullin for Optimus Prime in Transformers. I think it would have been great for fans like me, that grew up watching the show!!!

  • this bullshit is real crap-has nothin 2 do with the original....,..............fuck off

  • phi ta zapowiedź jest o niebo lepsza od samego filmu...

  • song yes,new movie NO!

  • this a 100 times better than the whole film

  • I can honestly say that if the original music was in the trailer I may have actually watched the movie. Sounds trivial, but the music of Miami Vice was nearly as integral to the the whole production as, say, John Williams scores are in others.

Oh, and notice how the original theme doesn't sound at all dated or out of place. Again... Advantage Jan Hammer theme. What were they thinking?

  • @ShermerIllinois You are correct! Jan Hammer composed groundbreaking music for that show , especially the theme. The tone of TV cop shows ( and I believe movies as well) changed forever to this day because of the style of Miami Vice. The John Williams comparison is quite apt , and the music has not particularly dated at all.

  • So much better with the theme song!

  • This movie is no where near the original.

  • Miami Vice movie is a masterpiece. I'm a big fan of the series but also the movie. Two different eras and two different realities. Love them both :)

  • Dude the movie sucked and the series were a masterpiece. I hope they remake Miami Vice for Television with A GOOD CAST!!!!! I dont want Colin Farrel as Sonny Crockett, No jamie Foxx as Tubbs and I want original theme and Crocketts theme!!!

  • @Gabrielvogel just see the 80´s series man you wnat the same thing grow up

  • not bad editing at all. Needs some work, but you have a good vid with potential here. redo it, i would love to see a better version

  • Great remix of the trailer.. but.. however.. the more recent movie was darker.. didn't really match the music. Damn good attempt though.

  • They shoulda used Terrance Howard as Tubbs. The movie just dragged in too many spots. Like they did with the Hulk..there's definitely a reboot required.

  • @dbrown0630 You're right Howard would have been far superior. I just can't take Fox seriously.

This film was essentially an episode from the TV show. Nothing more.

  • i didn't enjoy this movie very much. it had its moments but nothing worth watching again

  • how it was meant to be...

  • why do some critics didn't loved the collin farrel and his style. They tought he didn't match to movie character Sunny. He looked too much retro and too much sexy.

  • they shouldve used this as official trailer it wouldve been more awsome

  • Vice city)))

  • To hopefully answer some questions:

    1. Mann makes slice of life kind of movies such as this, therefore there wont be a sequel.

    2. Public Enemies is a period piece, but wasn't meant to be shot like a period piece. The digital look was meant to capture that era as if its happening right now. Not about the 1930s, its in the 1930s.

  • Public Enemies was a great movie.

  • @mwiskowski hey!!!!!!!!!! i want to ask...what is a title of this soundtrack????????????? can you tell me pl.sssssssssssssssss

  • thats more like it

  • Can´t wait for MV 2 ??? sometimes I really think there should be a school for "how to become a film-entusiast" .. the movie is a pile of shit and the only strange thing about that is that Michael Mann himself made it !! after the series and HEAT this makes one wonder if they put a gun to his head and forced him to degrade himself.... l=()=/(&#¤%#%"#¤#

  • I completely disagree with your views on Miami Vice. However, I completely disagree with Mann's choice of shooting "Public Enemies" on digital. This was a bad decision, for I would never even consider shooting a period piece on anything but film. Miami Vice was a wonderful film though.

  • Can´t wait for Miami Vice 2

  • Is there a second one in planning?

  • la scène ou les gus sont tués au fusil en 12.7mm est impressionnante très réelle avec les sièges de leur voiture déchiquetés

  • like it :0

  • I think people would like this movie better if it wasnt called Miami Vice... because its a good flick IMO if it wasnt titled that.

But thats just my two cents. I like Michael Mann's work.

  • man that movie was crap. i'm curious as to what others thought though. ?

  • Yup - pile of shit.

Cops go undercover. One gets to close to a crook. Shoot out. The end.

  • MUCH better than the music used in the real trailer. Good job.

  • TRASH! enough said...

  • Nicca....Nuf said....

  • Terrible movie, doesn't match up with the series.

  • true, true. movie aint bad, just not as good as the tv series

  • great fucking movie

  • This video is pretty cool...

  • dsa

  • miami isn't sick...you're sick!!!!!!

  • Sick is slang for supercool.

  • Haha, yes, this guy actually gives you a pretty big compliment.

  • should have stuck with the tried and true original just a tad updated

  • MUCH better with the theme song included! This is how it should've been or at least an updated version of the theme.

  • to be honest i didnt expect much out of jamie foxx, but this the movie blew me away. great ending

  • Michael Mann is genius, but this movie sucked. His digitally shot night scenes, however, are simply magnificent.

  • no way. this movie was underrated if anything. he is also a casting genius.

  • I thought this movie was really good. More realistic than the original show. But, I grew up watching that one and I loved their suits and the pink flamigos too. But i am a huge Michael Mann fan so I thought it was awesome.

  • Great movie--best of 2006, Michael Mann is a genius.

  • ha ha today is november 20th 2008... and this is the FIRST time I knew there was a Miami Vice movie, maybe I should get out more eh.

  • like gta fajny kawał muzyki

  • Dobry kawałek....

  • that's true, there is no Don here, bullshit

  • this is not a g0od movie

  • no, the movie is awesome

  • The end-credits sucked!

out of focus the whole time the credits were showing.

  • i have the game in PSP

    the game is awesome btw

  • I loved the movie, but it just didn't feel right without the MV theme being used. Thanks for posting this!

  • All that they do this stupid unexperienced directors this days do is spoil great 80s TV

They wanna do the same with the A-Team too this year.

Atleast when they do this type of things they should bring in some of the original cast and producer who are alive and out there sometimes. TV of today most of it has not quality and taste and most of all no cool factor like the 80s and 90s had.

There is too much violence and realiy TV on and less entertainment. Although i was born in 84

  • I was also born in 84, I mean I love the MV movie of course, and couldn't wait for it to come out. A-Team I have watched and I do hope they do a good job with it

  • uhhhh michael mann was the executive producer of this particular 80's TV show called MIAMI VICE...

  • And Knight Rider too..

  • haha first of all michael mann produced the original miami vice... and second of all he is an exellent experienced director, who is a master of cinematography

  • @xfxxfx when they did swat (another colin farrell movie as well as a tv show from the seventies they brought an original cast member back.....the actor who played Hondo on the show was driving the swat truck at the end....

  • @xfxxfx michael mann was one of the creators or something of the original tv series

  • @xfxxfx the a team movie was actually pretty good

  • I like Collateral more, but this is a damn good movie as well.

  • Fantastic Movie. A Stylish, Visceral, Raw, Violent action crime film. I love it. One of my favorite films. It is beautiful and has some great action. Also i like how it avoids buddy cop cliches.

  • I am not one of those people who think, that the 80ies were best(although I grew up then!^^)Shit happened as it does today. And as a fan of the original I found the remake partly interesting - the shootout at the end was amazing!! But even M. Mann wasn`t able to transfer the spirit of the original to the 21st century!!^^

  • So true shadow. When Mr.Mann himself cant transfer "the spirit",then wow!Have we really lost the coolness and all those great feeling's from that time for forever?? Man...I hate to ponder that! Great comment shadow!

  • I don't understand why people didn't like this movie. Personally, I thought this movie was great.

  • I agree. Sleek, cool, stylish and violent.

  • Because it didn't have don Johnson, abd Philip Michael Thomas in the film.

  • This movie was classic, it stands on its own as a great crime drama.

  • Vice was certainly Nice. One of my favorite movies of all-time!!

  • Miami vice was a great movie. one of the best of 2006. Michael Mann made yet another great crime/drama.

  • Man, that was a great film. It was Dark and serious, good scenes and good sound.

Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx are very expressive, bringing an idependent and original style for the movie.

    Michael Mann, very well done...

  • @leocmen No. Colin Farrell was miscast. He's Irish. Doesn't anyone KNOW this. The role should have gone to Matthew MCcaughnehey.

  • @Pleaver Man,It's a good movie.

The work done by director Michael Man can be seen in the cold and dark style of the narrative. Images and photography are very good, the soundtrack is flawless.

The story suffers from the cliché, but this failure may be forgiven if we observe the full range of work. Speaking of Farrell, he did very well in this movie, and played a character with a lot of style (I personally do not care if he is Irish).

  • @leocmen WHUT? Colin Farrel did the same voice as crockett but acted terribly wrong.

    I mean, A MOUSTACHE? SERIOULSLY?

  • the beginning was good ,the end was good but the middle was crap.

  • I agree, I thought that the last 40 minutes was one of the best.

  • This movie was great

  • i know the movie wasnt as good as the tv show but this trailer wit the theme song rocked!!!

  • Miami vice... tudo de bom....

viajei..no passado no presente e no futuro...

    Recordei! que legal..

    Obrigado! You Tube!!

  • No no no. Miami Vice isn't dark. Foxx doesn't have the looks or the carisma to play Rico. Make a movie set in the 80s <3

  • The good old Miami Vice is so much better=)

  • Miami Vice in the 80's rocked, there was nothing like it then. This remake movie was rubbish. A poor attempt to try and recapture the magic of that show.

  • this movie rocks

  • this movie sucked donkey balls

  • i know that they are great actors.however

they are nothing like the ones from the maiami vice show.

  • exactly

  • Amen.

  • What's with that nasty head on the wall? Where's that from?

  • This is one great movie made by one of the best directors Michael Mann. Great film, I love Miami Vice(show and movie).

  • Amazing filmmaking by Michael Mann, this is truly a masterpiece, along with Collateral and Heat.

  • Mann's great movies:

    Miami VIce

    Collateral

    Heat

    Insider

    LAst of the Mohicans

there is more, but that is all that could come to my head right now.

  • Great movie, one of my favorites of all time. Job well done by mann

  • Miami Vice was a great movie

  • Miami Vice is one of the best movies ever made

  • Agree, Michael Mann is one of the greatest directors.

  • what is music name?

  • miami vice theme-jan hammer

  • Yeah the Numb/Encore version is better

  • Good job, the original music of the old series is awesome!

But I think the numb/encore version is so much better...

  • To each his own, this movie was supposed to be nothing like the 80s tv show, just using character names, I now doubt there will be a Miami Vice II which I would love, but due to poor reviews and above average ticket sales, its just not going to happen, I love watch this movie though, great use of the camera in some scenes and it does have a great shoot-out in the end

  • Well there is still a chance for the sequel, the film did good internationally and on DVD-so there is a little incentive. Reviews were mixed by the way(just saying).

The trailer park scene is one of the best scenes in movie history.

  • Yep Silhouette, how do you think you can make this movie better? Take your camera, go outside and see what you can produce. HEAT is one of the best films I have seen with De Niro and Pacino with brilliant performances. Put Miami Vice up against other Tinseltown flics and it still stands tall.Michael Mann is one of the very best!

  • Hey, I'm not saying it's a terrible film, it's just the worst film by Michael Mann I have seen (and I don't care if it was nothing like the television show as I have never seen it anyway). All I'm saying is by Mann's very high standards it was very underwhelming.

  • best movie!!!

  • Do you compare a michael bay movie with a MICHAEL MANN movie??? Take your pills!!!, then you´ll say Armaggeddon is better than Heat... tomatelas!!

  • this was a great movie, just like heat. michael mann at his best

  • Agree, vice was nice

  • Bad Boys 2 wasnt bad, but the Miami Vice captured the whole Miami feel and you cant compare those two. If Bad boys 2 was a 6, then Vice was an 8.

  • Yea, and Bad Boys 2 was a action movie, Miami Vice was a crime/drama. Different(similar in some small way) genres.

  • cooool :D

  • definatly gives the right mood

  • cool(4 stars)..btw, any thoughts of other actors who could have played Crockett and Tubbs?

  • mehh the movie is great both actors played an excellent job, and I assume they will make a sequal but if i would have made this movie i would bring back the original actors and keep the 80s type feel, they should have kept the original song like made a sick remix of it

  • nah! the linkin park is alot better!

  • Much better version of trailer. That would've been another $40 million in the box office, had they used the original theme music.

  • The original song is the best for Miami Vice

I'd like the old series but this i haven't seen this yeat but soon

  • Man.... this is how they should have done it!

  • RITA i love u!!!

  • EXCELLENT SHIT! This theme should've been on the trailer & the movie!

  • i've been looking for that song too!

  • whats the name of that song when they're in that club at the beginning of the movie??

  • jay z linkin park numb/encore

  • wow, that changes it a lot, I love it :)

  • G R E A T

  • NICE WORK! thats how it should've been done really, to remind the fans from the 80's original series! why didn't this soundtrack get used, or crocketts theme?

  • That is how should have been the trailer, well done. Because in my opinion the movie is not miami vice, just a cop movie using the glorious memory of the best TV series, without the soul of the brilliant 80's, change the names change the movie title, and let keep miami vice in peace with Don Johson and Phillip Michael Thomas driving fast with the ferrari.

  • Totally agreed.

Their Ferrari ain't even White! =/

  • the theme is the best!! awsome job!

  • that's great

  • Mann should of stuck with what worked!!..nice job!!!

  • Superb :) The numb just ain't workin out for me. The song is boring now

  • Definite improvement! Good job.

  • I might have had some interest in seeing the film had they made a promo like this.

  • that's it man!! better

  • Nice!!

  • It's 100x better then oryginal (Linkin Park sux).

  • Great Googly Moogly! Such good memories!

  • nice!!!!

  • An improvement!

  • old school man!

  • Good mix!
