  • Soundtrack of my life indeed... (Still have not seen Tron..) lol...

  • Tron didn't bring me here - history did. This song is a part of the soundtrack of my life.

  • Like if Tron /didn't/ bring you here.

  • like this is tron brought you here

  • I saw journey play this live at mountain view, but is the filipino guy replacing the lead singer?

  • @srhbabe831 the filipino guy is the lead singer. Steve perry hasnt been with journey for awhile.

  • @Xunown No. You're thinking of "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind.

  • @InDarkDominion actually it is...its jim carrey's ringtone....and its played in his awesome ducati ride in a hospital gown yeahh!

  • @InDarkDominion liar, i used to have "yes man", "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind is not the ringtone, "Separate Ways" by Journey is.

  • I'm sorry, there's just so much bullshit going on in the comments about how currupt or how awesome music was and is. Why doesn't everybody just focus on what we SHOULD be focusing on? Which is how awesome Journey and this song is.

  • AND IF HE EVER HURTS YOU, TRUE LOVE WON'T DESERT YOU!!

  • Tron legacy brought me here

  • I think I was about 14 when this album was out and the music was great no one talk as much trash with the music I know this I lived it U truly had a emotional expierence and in every era there are one hit wonders and groups that aren't that good but thats the majority todays rock. As for as bad stuff we had our share Check ur history stop comparing if u look for good u will find it and if u look for the bad u find double because misery loves company.

  • Tron :)

  • Journey, is and will always be the best band of all time! ♥

  • @Tammiethejanitorx I second that!!!

  • @hiislandgirl07 it came out in the first TRON movie

  • @t0ny1105 Actually, the second. Tron: Legacy can be seen as the spiritual successor the the original Tron.

  • I fight for the user!

  • @dozerismydogsname Best comment.

  • @dozerismydogsname that is exactly what I was thinking!!!! That movie has the best music!

  • music of movie " yes man " :)

  • WAS THIS ON ROCKY !?

  • This is still one of my favorite songs, and will always be.

  • why dose it feel like every commet is some 50 year old man missing his youth?

  • Journey, Van Halen, Boston, Def Lepperd, and Aerosmith are some of my favorite bands from the 70's--80's. And this song is EPIC!

  • I'm happy to be born now. I CAN STILL APPRECIATE GOOD MUSIC.

  • i listened to this when i peed. best pee ever

  • It is kinda funny all of the people are like "I was born 1974 and grew up listening to this" But guess what...I was born 1996 am 15 and I grew up listening to this...The 80s had the best EVERYTHING especially music!!!

  • This is a fucking masterpiece.

  • If You were born in the 80s remember journey, stone,s j giels rehab ahhhhhhhhhhh the good ole days

  • awesome song

  • Nobody fucking cares how old you are. It's cool and all that you are that age and like them, but quit announcing it.

  • im 13 and i LOVE journey! @SuperMarioman11 i like journey better with steve perry as the lead singer

  • @SuperMarioman11

I'm 18 and totally agree. My mother says if I was born during this time, I would totally be her best friend!

  • i remember when i was 5 and fought with someone on the internet

  • 14 in 8th grade listening to this

    fuck ya

  • see tron wasn't a total loss atleast it gave me this song, i love this type of music

  • Nearly 14 and in highschool... So?!?!

  • Facehate666 is right I LOVE this song and I'm 13

  • all of you stfu

  • How many relationships have you walked away from and felt this way? Truly timeless track. Steve Perry is one of the most amazing vocalists ever and the pinnacle of Journey.

  • Pallbearers: "Is that Journey?! KICK ASS!" *drops casket*

    Widow: "Howard!"

  • Today my dad asked me why i like 80s music so much and i said "WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT"!? XDD

  • JOURNEY'S AWSOME

  • @8951mike So is the 500 character limit in the comment section.

  • I'm a big 80's fan this song is on the top of my list

  • sheldon does it better

  • @silicon605 Did you break your Caps key?

  • i wisssh i was born 20 years ago! todays " music " is shit lol

  • @XxChantelley same here

  • @XxChantelley

    '80s? How about the '50s?

  • @DihydrogenMonoxide42

    Sorry man. 80's trumps 50's.

  • @gbguerra2021

But if you're born in the '80, then you miss The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

  • @DihydrogenMonoxide42 Dont forget The Rolling Stones.

  • @DihydrogenMonoxide42 well that too lol

  • @XxChantelley You realize 20 years ago was 1992 right??? I would have loved to be born like 35-40 years ago.

  • @EpicFluffmiester your right! my bad, i guess my math sucks haha! thats what i meant!

  • @XxChantelley Haha It's all good. I make the same mistake pretty often actually.

  • @XxChantelley While I certainly agree that this song is awesome, to say that music today sucks only makes me think you aren't listening to the right stuff.

  • @FlyingPaladin617 ahah well you may not agree with me, but im reffering to all the rap and stuff, my opinion on todays music is that is suckss! lol

  • @XxChantelley Well not only was rap started in the 80's but it's just one genre of music among many. If you don't like rap that's fine but don't say an entire generation of music sucks because of it. There happen to me many talented bands and musicians today. You just need to find them.

  • @FlyingPaladin617 well there you go, i get what your saying, and im just stating my opinion that i do personalllly think basically all music today sucks, yeah, sure rap was good back then, and thats what i am saying I like music better back in the day,not today. & i respect your opinion,,

  • @XxChantelley Every generation/decade of music has its good and bad, through the 80's to today. I may not agree with your stance that 100% of all music today is bad but if you can respect my opinion then I can respect yours as well.

  • @XxChantelley hellllll yea this song kicks ass

  • @mrjandharleyq haha yeeeah!

  • @XxChantelley If you honestly believe that, then you aren't looking hard enough.

There's a plethora of shitty music today. But the 80's also had its fair share of terrible, TERRIBLE music. One-hit wonders were EVERYWHERE, and they were usually one-hit wonders for good reason.

Also, 20 years ago would have been 1992.

  • @guitarrhythymfool i relize both of your points, thanks.

  • @guitarrhythymfool Dude, just stop, if we wanna find underground boring uninspired indie "rock", were looking exactly where you want us to. Out of every 500 bands, about 1 or 2 are not horseshit, the amount of good music anywhere has increased significantly, lets not act like if we search for months on end on youtube we will find at least a few decent bands, because the so-called "revivals" are not rock, but just pop with distorted guitars, which is not cool and never will be.

  • @ex5098 I'm not saying you need to look hard at all. Just that they aren't looking hard enough. Just look ANYWHERE. Artists that aren't underground that are, IMO, talented: Adele AFI Alter Bridge Matisyahu Counting Crows Porcupine Tree Chiodos Steve Vai Coheed & Cambria Deftones Joe Satriani Joe Bonamassa These are modern, high-profile acts, not hipster indie groups. People promoted on Livenation and Ticketmaster. People that most fans of those genres have heard of. They are NOT obscure.
  • @guitarrhythymfool So what talent is great, but dont play music if none of it isnt a bore to listen to. Theres no excitement or passion, thats why their will never be any Zeppelins, or Floyds or Sabbaths, theyre high energy, high

  • @guitarrhythymfool octane bands who will wail for hours on end just for the thrill of it all, and you can pretend like their image doesnt matter but it does, look at Alice Cooper, and then look at bands like The Strokes, the ACG look like rockers, but the latter looks like the founders of their highschool chess club, a boring look/image requires a boring sound. AND THAT IS THAT

  • 21 years old and still belting out this and any other journey song driving down the highway just like my parents did.

  • CLASSIC opening keyboard riff . One of the best ever in rock history !

  • Realmente... Bom pra caralho!

  • this song was in tron

  • God..the guitar just takes control of me.

  • The only people that used "Journey" in their comments spelled it wrong.

  • why cant new music be this epic, i mean its not like instruments are worse. People who have talent are shunned in favor of those who are "good" looking. I mean steve perry wasnt exactly handsome but he has an amazing voice. Thumbs up if u would join a music revolution!

  • @Earflores03 I'm 15 and I listen to classic rock, and classic metal and I have been listening to it since I was little I hate rap cause its not real music I wish I was born in the 80's but I was born now oh well I have to deal with horrible music I listen to the old music and never listen to rap

  • thumbs up if u agree with me that journy is the best :)

  • I cant listen to this just once.

  • nothing like revisiting he past ....this was an awesome time for music....thanks journey for making my memeories more enjoyable with great tunes!

  • I listen to this almost every day. Multiple times. Anyone else? :)

  • NO ONE WILL FORGET THIS SONG!

    NOT EVEN ME!

  • This is one of those songs that will never die no matter how old it gets.

My friends and I at school (We're 13 btw) love this and sing it as loud as we can in gym and even the hallways sometimes. :D

    Journey is awesome. <3

I wish I'd been alive in the 80's. Now we have all this Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga crap.

I WILL ALWAYS BE AN 80'S KID!!!

  • @iliketoasterstrudel1 nice dude im 16 and i do prefer this kind of music some older like late 60's and 70's, but there is good music from today too. but yeah this is just about as good as it gets.

  • Ahhh where have I heard this already? And it`s not Tron, cause I haven`t seen the movie yet. Love it by the way.

  • @MsPrincessEliza "Yes Man" with jim carey? i remember hearing it in that movie 2 or 3 years ago :p

  • I saw a band cover this song in Texas, at South By Southwest, 2010....Bad Ass

  • I was born in 1980 and I love this song! (Okay, okay, I also know and appreciate both Tron movies too! But I heard this song first as a very young boy- dad's record collection.) This was probably one of my main playlist tunes the first time I ever had my heart broken. Happily married now, and my wife is now "addicted" to 80's music lol

  • Epic scene when Sam goes into flynns and it starts up and running again has this song TRON!!!!!

  • Thumbs up if Yes Man led you here

  • I'm only 14 and I LOVE this music! MY dad says that if i were born when he was I wouldve fit in perfectly. I hate how nowadays everybody's practically obsessed with wearing skinny jeans and listening to rap, and cussing every 3 seconds. It's dumb. I wish we could back to these times when you actually had to have talent to play music, like these guys.

  • @SuperMarioman11 I'm 14 too and that EXACTLY how I feel.

  • @SuperMarioman11 I'm almost 17, but I feel the same way. It's completely ridiculous.

  • @SuperMarioman11 Im13 and i feel the same! Haha well i gotta have ma skinnys! But anywho yes! My dad is a musician and i practiclly grew up in tha eyes of Journey, Pearl Jam, And Guns and Roses!! Peace To Tha 80's! Like Lil Wayne is in no comparison to Steve Perry! Drake is nothing like Gene Simmons! These guys are legends, not fame obsessed pot heads!

  • @SuperMarioman11 The 80's were a magical time, when all we lived in fear of was nuclear annihilation.

  • @SuperMarioman11 Age has nothing to do with taste, stop posting about you being "14" or "13" it's fucking annoying, shut the fuck up and just listen to the song.

  • @Facehate666 lmao, coming from someone with 666 in their handle I'm sure you're still a teenager in highschool. Or have the mind as one, stop being a douche, and listen to the song.

  • @OfWhatsToCome Facehate8 was taken, my handle has nothing to do with this, the fact is that age has nothing to do with your music taste and people who think it does are fuck-wits.

  • @SuperMarioman11 im 13 and a girl and I totally agree.

  • @SuperMarioman11 Take a closer look at the pants the band wears. Look familiar?

  • @SuperMarioman11 dude im 13 and this music is like heaven to me!

  • @SuperMarioman11 I'm like three years old and I love this shit. FUCK THE WIGGLES MAN!

  • Thumbs up if you miss the 20th Century

  • no idea what Tron is, just was needing to hear some Steve Perry!

  • I can't believe I was doing dishes to this song. This track is too epic for doing dishes to!!

  • Journey will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart!!!! <3 Like daughter like father i guess. :)

  • In 2009 i went to orlando with some friends for my bday. We then went to universal studios and walked into the huge karaoke hall with a big stage and all out band and stage. A guy sang this song, it was amazing, sounded just like steve perry. Months later this dude was singing on oprah i couldnt believe it

  • my mom is 50 today and she is still dancing to this song !!

  • I about squealed and actually started singing out loud when I heard this song start up when I first watched Tron Legacy. I was STILL singing the words even when you could barely hear it in the background during the scene in Flynn's Arcade. I grew up LISTENING to Journey! I Love This Song!!!

  • I grew up an 80's kid in the UK, and Journey were one of the few big US bands who just never broke through here. Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Kiss, Aerosmith etc all had radio hits here in the 80's, but it would have been nice to have had a childhood soundtracked by Perry's awesome voice and songs like Separate Ways and Open Arms. In fact, Mariah Carey had a #4 hit here with Open Arms, and most folks think hers is the original.

Still, better late than never. I'm glad I found Journey in my late 20's.

  • Comment removed

  • such a cool album cover,

  • Nice record, thanks...

  • Younger people are killing this song by saying "heard this in tron and wanted to hear it". Jeeez I'm 23 and I've been listening to Journey, Def Leppard, Poison, KISS etc since I was a baby! Turn of JB and listen to the REAL music! Love my mom for keeping this music alive in our house.

  • @eaflores03 I grew up listening to Journey, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Cher, Heart, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Jefferson Airplane, and other classics; I was born in 1974. So when I heard this start up during the arcade scene in Tron Legacy I was SINGING ALL THE WORDS even when you could barely hear it. I've always loved this song. I think it's awesome to find some of my favorite 70's and 80's songs in movies like this, it's like reliving the best parts of my childhood all over again. XD

  • fuck comments, real music goes way beyond a popularity contest

  • The 80's was the best everything back then was so layed back compared to now a days!

  • I love 80s music, not only does it kick ass, but it reminds me of a time when everything wasnt so fucked up

  • @Timberwolf8998 AMEN!!!!!!

  • @Timberwolf8998 Please name one time in human history when the world wasn't a cesspool of shit.

  • @FlyingPaladin617 In the beginning, before Eve, then Adam--- fell into temptation.

  • @Timberwolf8998 Other than the Cold War, yeah.

  • @Timberwolf8998 Like when people used this lost concept called.. "common sense"?

  • @Timberwolf8998 - Oh, it was definitely fucked up back then...just not AS fucked up as it is now LOL!

  • @Crazcompart Actually, we're living in a time that is far superior to the 80's in terms of technological and political progress. The major impact here is the fact that the excessive living from the 80s is now catching up with us. SOPA and PIPA being the headline news is incredible, considering in the 80s the major thing on everyone's mind was nuclear war with the soviet union. We can treat and cure cancer now, we have computers in our pockets, and we have the internet. be thankful.

  • @mrjangles1 You CAN'T cure cancer..... You can only treat it & do your best to keep from going into remission.
