I'm not sure of this, but I think I can see some kind of material or fluid being dumped under the car directly in the middle of the car as you're looking at it....although I would interpret this as perhaps being from the engine area or flywheel area of the car. I noticed this even before the car begins to lose traction. Did the driver give any reason for this mishap? When was this? Does anybody know how the driver made out? Great camera work by the way! I don't know, after further review, he did seem to be trying to correct when sliding sideways a bit, but those little tires in front were no match for that kind of power pushing that car from the rear, especially a power that had gotten out of control like that.

i was there racing, guy stayed in it way to long after comin out of wheelie and was no longer eveninthe groove or on the lane, he was in the "marbles" ofthe traack and over corrected hense the hard right turn, he sustained minor injuries went to the hospital and returned the next day to get his stuff, this is my home track and is one of the best hooking tracks in the country, weve had cars go 4.00 200mph on it, there is no problem with traction, just problems with shitty drivers

@bradsnowball Brad, I'm sure you know what you're talking about, and I only have minimal drag racing exp. But just from this vid's view, it seems to me that once his front wheels come back down he's straight, and it doesn't look like the car's weight is bouncing from one side to another trying to push him out of shape. It actually looks to me like he's "under control" for a good second or two...then mysteriously gets sideways. Do you still feel that it was his poor driving? Thanks

I drive a 1000hp car every Sat. and have had some near misses that could of turned out like that in the blink of an eye. If the track isn't treated well ALL the way down thats the ride u get. It might of been good on the last pass but that don't mean any thing.

@chaosad09 actually you can see in the video that the car just bounced right back and slided on the edge of the wall for a while. As he did this with his right wheels, the gravity point was safely on the left. The rest is just physics. The car had to fall back on the road.

Camera was mounted on a tripod. Camera man dove for cover as the car hit. He managed to get back to the camera after the car went past just as the camera was tilting down.

The camera guy was in the "death zone". Cars that jump the wall seem to do it most between the 120' to 660' mark. However, this track has temporary concrete walls...that can move when hit. That doesnt help either.
