  • i wanna see one slammed

  • Just bought a Honda Ridgeline and I just fell in love, this is a well thought out truck, no humps in the bed like other trucks, US car makers after a hundred year can't get rid of the humps. Had a Dodge Dakota for 11 years of hell, everything broke from day one, not rich so was kinda stuck in that truck, never again, when the new model comes out in a few years I will get another Honda Ridgeline. Thank you Japan for going to my construction business in luxury.

  • the engine on the 2005-present Honda Ridgeline

    Engine

    3.5 L 250 hp V6

  • Why do people keep calling this a pickup truck? it's an Accord with AWD and an open bed.

  • fucking pos, monoqocue construction with lame AWD and independent rear suspension, real trucks have a frame on body, part time 4 Wheel Drive and at least one solid axle

  • passing power un acceptable.. wtf kbb go watch the 0-60's on this thing then tell me it desent haul ass

  • @MrImacarfan passing power= when you're on the highway GOING 60mph and you need to SPEED UP past 60mph to PASS the other car they'r saying once it reaches 60mph it can't speed up that well to pass

  • @carreviewsbychris i know what that is. the odyssey ridgeline and pilot all share the same engines. the older pilots were fast, and the older odysseys did a fast 50-90 but because of the new fuel economy gearing the pilot and ridgeline are consiterably slower now.

  • Oh ,wow, people are stupid. Coments about rust, towing, stiffness. This is Honda. People smarter than all of us designed this thing. The bed will hold 1500 lbs. That makes it a half ton. it wont tow 10000 lbs but most "truck" owners don't either. If you own a F150, ram 1500 or Silverado/seirrs 1500 I doubt you get anywhere near it towing capacity. In the Truck of the year back in 06 I went everywhere the "big" boys did. It's a truck period. I'm not a truck guy but I know one when I see one.

  • nice i bougth mine for 9k :D

  • That aint no truck...

  • Best truck that I ever owned. I had almost all of them too. Dodge Ram and dakota, Chevy big and small,Ford, and Toyota. It is fast and has amazing suspension and the fuel mileage is good at 18 city. But the best thing is the stereo. Amazing and I finally have a truck that i don't have to put a system in..

  • Great truck. My Ford Ranger was junk in comparison. My dad's F-150 was nice but still not as good. The Ridge is smoother, more comfortable, and overall a better value. Plus, it's got that great Honda reliability. I still like the F-150 but I like the Ridge even more. 4 years and 56k miles later and people still think it's a new truck. No sign of rust anywhere.

  • They look so fucking retarded hahaha

  • this review annoys me because it says it's all wheel drive. but it is a 4wd. It says it on the back of the truck haha. there is a difference between awd and 4wd.

  • @theTorpidKings That's just marketing, the ridgeline is AWD it can't be put into 2wd mode and has no low range 4wd is just a term Honda uses.

  • @ShiftCommandH don't, the ridge line will rust out within 3 years, because of road salt and it being a unibody

  • avalanches are better

  • @ilovetofingermyself1 I agree. I LOVE Avalanches!!!!!! I also sell them at my Chevy dealer!!!!!!!! THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • all i care about is that its got VTAKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!111

  • my dad bought one and i fucking love it.

  • this is the lamest truck in the world... 5,000lbs towing capactiy.. my moms explorer is rated for 8,000 LMFAO WOOW and you can't put heavy shit in the back in fear you might damage your trunk.. what kinda truck has a trunk?

  • Comment removed

  • The Ridgeline is like a step above an S10 or similar sized truck. The difference is that it can haul more but it's not a full size truck and it's not a little truck like Rangers or S10s.

  • @ibaneziceman2007 actually, it hauls less than those, as it's a unibody,,, it will like bend into a v if you put a real load on the hitch

  • @xmodrock well ya your moms explorer is a truck, this is an crossover with a pick-up bed

  • @chinchillawrangler thats not how they were advertising it at the honda dealership i went to.. its a lame ass truck... its not a truck,.. it shouldn't even be produced..

  • @xmodrock were you thinking of buying one of these??hahah just get a tacoma you cant go wrong there. or wait for the remodeled ranger.

  • @chinchillawrangler no my mom did.. so i went with her to check it out while i was visiting.. and its not exactly what i expected.. we bought the explorer from 2010

  • wow a tl has more power than this truck

  • @vvysoc for trucks, torque > hp

  • @TopChef89 Me too American is best. i cant think of any others to be honest with you though.

  • Ah man! I was expecting a V8.. Well I guess I can't complain, it looks pretty light.

  • Comment removed

  • @Geraldtoo no man who respects his own testicals would purchase a honda ridgeline.

  • @FDD2012 You sir are an idiot. This is not a heavy duty pickup truck. Its an SUV with a bed. and I assure you. It is very, VERY nice.

  • @FDD2012 it depends on your purpose for having a truck honestly. i have seen them at the auto show. theyre okay. the key word here is OKAY. I do like the bed storage area though that is a good idea.

  • I am a Ridgeline owner. Pros: lots of storage, awsome navigation system, spacious, nice interior, very comfortable ride,in bed trunk, great off-road,great stability control.

Cons: mpg and people bitching too much about this great SUT.

If you dont like it, don't buy. It's simple.

  • @XxITZRAPTORxX What is a SUT?

  • @XxITZRAPTORxX What is a SUT? Sport Utility Truck?

  • @XxITZRAPTORxX well, good luck with off raod, towing, hauling, and any other things a pickup is used for, the ridgeline is a unibody, no c channel and tube frame, just sheet metal

  • one of the toughest truck

  • peice of shit.....who the hell would make a unibody truck you can haul anything! you would load a fat person in there and the truck would be strugling and the suspension would be bottomed out

  • @Scotty6211 you are an absolute idiot you apparently have no clue that a unibody is much more stiff than a body on frame

  • @mtwigs9 well i depends if its a car yeah like its the best thing you can do for a car but a truck....not really my buddys struggles to keep up with mine in trucks frame is the best way to go thats why every other truck has a frame! you dont see a fucking transport with a unibody now do you.....

  • @mtwigs9 bullshit, a unibody has more lateral rigidity, but a ladder frame has better vertical stiffness, and they don't twist nearly as much

  • @joek0617 Why are you here if your going to hate ? Some people don't need to tow 10K pounds. I obviously got the truck knowing what I needed it for so there's nothing you can lecture me on about my Ridgeline.

  • @XxITZRAPTORxX why are you hating, i'm just stating simple facts

  • @Scotty6211 and a regular truck with a frame bed can?

  • @Ntsesman what about a truck with a frame bed?

  • @Scotty6211 retards like you don't understand ANYTHING. and the fact that this has Independent rear suspension.

  • @EpiDemic117 yeah i know it has a independent rear suspension ,it can't haul fuck all, couple that with the unibody and it really can't haul fuck all.

  • @Scotty6211 grammar? and that's not the point. this isn't intended for heavy loads, it's intended for light stuff. that's what this manufacturer intended. please refer to your owners manual to see what your vehicle is designed for.

thanks you, have a nice day!

  • @EpiDemic117 ahahah pardon my french lol :P well yes very true about all of that.

  • @EpiDemic117 the entire purpose of getting a pickup is to haul heavy shit, the ridgline is a car with an extra large, uncovered trunk

  • @joek0617 that is an opinionated statement. and no that isn't the point of an off road truck. How much heavy shit do you see off road vehicles haul? LEARN YOUR CATEGORIES.

  • @tehatemachine unibodys suck at that too, they are made entirely out of sheet metal, so when u dent a panel, the structure may be compromised, and unibody rust out a hell of a lot faster, what with all the salt used on the roads these days

  • @joek0617 Unit bodies are actually better for certain applications like small pickups, AND safer for smaller vehicles as well. Because they have a hard outer shell with some reinforcements, "and unibody rust out a hell of a lot faster" There is no actual evidence or proof to back your claims, Unit bodies are sealed after they are diped in a a GIANT pool filled with special coating to prevent rust. If truck drivers want to brag about load weight. They've already lost to Rail when it come to weight

  • i say a competitor for this truck is more like the chevy avalanche, ya you get more power with the avalanche, but other than that, the versatility and over all use of the truck I say makes a good competitor for the ridge line, i would not mind having both lol, along side a lot others lol

  • no brakes at high way speeds

  • only truck i would ever drive but thats not saying much. Never the less its still kind of useless because of the towing load

  • if the payload is 1500lb, then with 5 passengers @175lb = 875lb so then the payload would only be 625lb?? or one atv

  • its amazing!

  • I was so excited when I heard they were making a truck.....BUT when I saw this I threw up in my mouth a little. If they just made a simple, no frills, compact, full frame, 2wd, good gas mileage(26mpg+) TRUCK they would sell a million of them. I've never seen such a succesful company miss the mark so bad.

  • Looks fat. stick to making cars Honda.

  • i work at a honda dealership and i get to drive these trucks daily. The ridgeline is one badass truck!

  • it looks like a whale to me

  • I've owned Dodge, Ford, Mazda, Toyota, pickups and presently own a GMC Truck. Was given the Ridgeline for work, my 1st response was it's a van with no back. But the more I drive it the more I like it. It handles great love the tailgate & trunk. Most trucks never see hard work anyways. Just look at the trucks on the road now. All spit and polish. Only complaint I have. The front is ugly.

  • you would be better off with a xl 4cyl ranger that this hunk of crap.

  • @Ronixwake5656 yeah and thats cheaper

  • FAIL! I laugh at every Ridgline i see!

  • It handles great

  • pussy truck.

  • honda is a failure with big engines and nautrality aspirated speed and lets not even bring torque into the factor all there are is about economy and if your looking to buy a truck like this plzz be a american and do us a favor buy a REAL! truck like the avalance or explorer sport trac not this grabage

  • Jsoto92.

  • @jaysoto92 I know!!!!!!!!

  • Just love it :)

  • my favorite truck that i have ever owned.

  • The Swiss Army Knife of trucks, I just wish I could afford one.

  • fuckin ugly!

  • Very nice vehicle. Look up Honda ridgeline crash and click the first choice. But this is a nice vehicle.

  • 3.5 !! ... and you call it a truck !

  • this 3.5 got more power than the 4.0L u found in the 2008 explorer, quit whinning like abitch

  • @coolgames14

    I don't hate the Ridgeline

But for the record. the 3.5 in the new Explorer has 40 more Hp, than the 2011 3.5 Ridgeline.

  • @SecularTechnology no one gives a crap. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @VentureTrucksCanada

Obviously he did, because he was talking about it, you shit head.

  • my dad has it. loves it. and hes a general contractor. its perfect for decent sized loads like alot of doors, bags of cement, lumber, etc. and alot of storage for tools everywhere in this truck. its perfect for people who don't need to haul a shitload of stuff all the time, but u have the conveniency of the bed and the storage.

  • this isnt a truck, a truck has a frame this has a uni body. this is an accord with a bed.

  • Honda! Please, honestly, GET A CLUE. Find out what consumers really want.

  • awd? fuck that

  • bad FWD

  • IMHO: that car more like beach truck, not pickup

  • @Sirofimme it's actually a sport truck, people use it in the baja ^^

  • cargo and safety make it the top choice.

  • i like it but it needs a V8

  • Good review. I've had my Ridgeline for 4 years now and it's been a great truck. Only less-than-great thing about it has been the gas mileage. Zero dollars spent on anything other than regular maintenance. The ride surpassed by far any other so-called "real truck" out there. Handling is exceptional and the truck feels like it's glued to the road. I'm 6'1" and it would be nice to have a few more inches of leg room in the front, however. I'd buy another one if I ever needed to replace it.

  • here in Canada this truck is very popular ... I think the stupid americans ( anybody living in the usa ) need to put on der glasses because they are some stupid folk living south o f the border of Canada.

this twuck is classic and will never go out of style.. as for you dumb americans.. keep driving your peice of crap chevy and I'll be here pointing at laughing!!

  • @ageofpoo im not even american. im a fan of pick up trucks both american and not. so i have no favourite between us trucks and japanese trucks. do you know how dumb you sound when you say sweeping statements like that. im not agreeing and im not disagreeing, but back your statements up with facts. such as "in canada the Ridgeline is the best selling pick up truck." find facts and peopel will respect you

  • @drumsalltime your dumber than a sack of oats... watch the news dingus

  • @ageofpoo its because you say stuff like that that people will think of you as just another guy on youtube, who has nothing better to do than talk shit about stuff that they probably know nothing about because you dont seem to have any proof or facts of it.

  • if a japanese truck came to mind it would be the nissan frontier or toyota tacoma, 2 ofthe best midsize trucks out there. this truck aint really a truck, i think of it more of a minivan with a bed and a lift kit. it aint a BAD truck but it just aint really A truck. on a personal opinion note, i think its ugly.

  • tell me all the bad things about this car because I am about to buy either an Honda Ridgeline or a Ford Sports Track

  • Why would one get this over a Silverado XFE or a F-150 SFE?

This gas millage is pretty sad, when you think this thing should be getting numbers like 17/24 mpg. Its fuel economy matches those 2 trucks and they are stronger, can tow more, have a bigger bed and are more powerful.

The price tag is also pretty expensive. But its a Honda, so I guess...

Why would I want this over a crew cab Frontier or Tacoma?

I suppose its smarter than the Avalanche tho!

  • Honda engineers are obsessed with racing so I'm sure they wanted to make this thing as sporty as it could be for the price. As Honda always does.

  • I really dont see the car was made to be a hardcore competitor against big trucks like F-150 or Dodge Ram...I think this truck is a really good for a family, as someone said: to get one or two motorcycles, outdoor gear, fishing and things like that. It is not a heavy duty truck. It is an SUV with some features that you can find in a truck, comfortable for long trips and functional. I really like it. If I want a truck for heavy work, give an F-150.

  • @wtrdogg20 BTW, I just realized NorthAmerican people has a very distorted concept of the difference between Heavy Duty Truck (F-150, Ram, Silverado), a regular Pickup truck (Tacoma, Frontier, Ranger) and this family truck that is a kind of a Crossover car with truck features. Why NorthAmerican people think a truck is just that huge vehicle to tow or move a huge load? Not because you ignore about other type of cars you have to insult them. C'mon, thats enough!

  • is this truck available with a 2.5 tdi 4 in row engine?

  • HONDA RIDGELINE can't match the 4 TITANS namely DODGE RAM, CHEVY SILVERADO, TOYOTA TUNDRA, FORD F-150..v6 engine is like a baby pony compared to full grown BIG HORSE V8..i'm not prejudice but this vehicle ain't worth a penny..i can't even call it a truck!

  • In other word.... It's for the Big city guy that love to go away and escape from civilisation !

  • As a Honda technician, I can tell you that we've never seen any of those truck have ANY serious trouble... even after high mileage, this post is not to down any other compagny. but to say this truck is well designed even if it's capacity isnt made for hardcore work, It would be for the family that want to go on a trip with 2 motorcycle on the back or a quad during summer.

  • Coming from a F-150 owner, this Ranger/Dakota/Tacoma competitor isnt bad at all but its totally weak compared to my 2010 F-150. But we all have to realize that this truck competes against the mid-size and compact truck/ crossover segment. But congrats to honda making a great truck my wife would like to drive to buy groceries.

  • this is a half ton. for those of us who dont need to tow 12,000 pound horse trailers and only throw lumber, bicycles, lawnmowers, and the occasional dirtbike in the back.

  • the cabin of this truck is really not all that....we are drivin my cousins and the plastic are not all that nice considering they bash american companys about there dashboards....theres alot of hard edges and the center console moves ALOT like its about to BREAK its just not wat u WOULD THINK WHEN THEY SAY HONDA.....i guess if it was a chevy people would have something bad to say...

  • A HUMMER H3T or Dodge Dakota would tear this thing a new one.

  • .58 "you may not like the ridgeline if you plan to carry heavy cargo or tow large loads" what the fuck thats what a truck is made for this aint a truck its a car in disguise my 2000 blazer can do more than this piece of shit

  • It's a unibody truck, not designated to comply with heavy loads. It's for versatility, effiecency, safety, and comfort. You want a truck, go get a Chevy Silverado or Ford F-series or a Dodge Ram.

Piece of shit? It seems to uphold it's popularity in the consumer's market pretty well.

  • trucks dont have u bodys well they shouldnt a truck has a full frame if you want fuel efficiency buy a silverado/sierra hybrid and i wouldnt consider jap cars safe theyre flimsy you dont here built honda tough no because you here built ford tough

  • Efficiency as in power to weight ratio, mate, not fuel, since that's not a very high priority in the first place in trucks.

Sure, Honda's aren't built tough. They're cars, suvs, and weird trucks. They design them to be safe as in to take impacts and absorb energy for the driver and passengers. They have the ACE body structure, not truck frames.

I'm not saying that the Ridgeline is a "real" truck. It's like a crossover thingy. If I was buying a truck for heavy loads, I'ld go to Ford first.

  • Honda makes good vehicles,

you said "HERE built..." its HEAR! LOL xD

  • you know damn well it was a typo. and yeah both GM and ford have passed honda in sails in the U.S

  • u spelled hear wrong and i had a ford i loved it but that bitch started making noise after 2 months of use everything felt like it was gunna fall off so much for tough

  • Why would anyone buy this over a Tacoma? It makes no sense, and is horridly overpriced.

  • more leg room? haha maybe idk

  • ik it doesnt make sense

  • Less gayer than the toyouda version.

  • great SUT for people that dont need one for full time construction work. Always going to have the die hard "My model is better than yours" that put other models down. Buy what you like. For most this is all you'll ever really need and more.

  • I was a long time full-size chevy P/U owner and flipped to the Ridgeline 2 years ago. Still carries a full 4x8 sheet in the bed and cruises in the snow.

great car, good stiff ride with a very solid and stable feel.

more room in cab for people then my extended chevy.

    2008 RTX

  • Nice truck for Canadian urban areas.

  • The 100% worst pickup ever made

  • Did he call a chassis a "tchassy"? It's pronounced shassy! Idiot. I can't take this show seriously now. Up Honda :)

  • i've always heard it as "Chass-E" Not shassy whitch doesn't make much sense...

  • I does make sense, fool. It's derived from the french word chassis. ch, sounding like "sh" It's like you call a coupé a "coopey". But I'm guessing you call it a "coop". You don't call a café a "kaif" do you? Shows how dignified you are.

  • by the way, "which" doesn't have a "t" in it. Some "writer" you are. You must be a REAL failure...

  • You said, "I does make sense, fool." Good job dumbass, and American-wise I haven't really heard Coupe so I wouldn't know how we pronounce it, but the British say Coup-ey. By the way, what kind of dumbass comment was that about Cafe? A Kaif really? Shows how dignified you are.

  • Sorry, I missed the t in "it". If You've never heard the word coupé then I definitely can't take you seriously. "American-wise". The american version of a hyundai Tiburon is a hyundai coupé, So it does exist in America. .. What's wrong with the café one. It's exactly the same as you calling a chassis how you do. café is french, you say the "e". chassis is french, you say ch like sh and don't say the s. There. Explained enough to you kiddy?

  • Just because I said I haven't heard an American say Coupe, doesn't mean I said it doesn't exist...And your Cafe example still doesn't make sense to use Kaif, how in the hell would you get "kaif" from Cafe, I could see Ca-fee maybe, but kaif doesn't come close to making sense. Also, how do you say a word with an sh but without the s? So we pronounce it like hassis? That's exactly what you just said.

  • Damn you really ARE stupid. without the s, as in chassi(s) <- that "s" isn't spoken. Holy shit, I can't believe I'm explaining this. And with café. You say cape like kaip right. or kayp. not capay.. but you DO say café like cafay... OK??? Now English lesson over. Don't forget to do your homework. And learn well because professor dunti is over teaching you...

  • a shitty copy of an avalanche at best and seriously a fucking uni body just because no ones put it on a truck dosent mean someone should man imports suck ill keep my chevys

  • Great car...bad truck, I'd stick with toyota.

  • @amontaldo87

    chevy

  • Amazing!

  • don't they have a dvd option now?

  • beautyyyyy

  • This is the best looking truck ever built !

    Simply awesome

  • @MAGICKUWAIT

    hell yeah

  • This is an awesome truck.

  • @1robeyfan its not a truck

  • @1robeyfan Ye awesome unibody truck.

  • @1robeyfan yes and its an SUV in the shape of a truck....

  • so its a truck for people who don't need a truck?

a truck with a car engine? and the 16/21 mpg fuel economy rating doesn't really make it better option

it does have cool features though

  • @jblackapple minus-well just get a American truck. their V8 have alot more power get almost the same MPG as this, plus have leaf springs and a solid axle for heavy towing. Nice truck, but theres really now reason to consider it over an American truck.

  • @jblackapple its a truck for ppl who dont want a Full Size pick up, but need one that offers good fuel economy, and features. Its a half ton pick up

  • This is a great out standing truck and recommend it to anyone

  • Ford F series and chevy avalanche and Dodge Ram series wannabe..i wouldnt buy japanese truck..period

  • An advice to all the owners like me. If you see children around you just never back up. When you park always do it so you don't have to back up when you are leaving.

  • I stil don't get it why people would compare the RL to the common traditional pickup truck, it's in class by itself. F150's, Silverado's, Tundra's, Ram's are designed for purpose of heavy hauling/off roading at the expense of comfort and safety, not everyone hauls half a ton or has to go off-road on his daily commute or needs a lot of horsepower (V8) to waste. It is not for heavy duty work (get an F250) it's a multi-purpose family vehicle, a safe midsize SUV w/ a bed. I have one (3/05 RTS).

  • It is what it is, a very versatile LIGHT truck. No, you're not going to Haul a multi-car trailer with it, nor are you going to do a serious amount of off roading, but really ... how many people need that. I just bought one (didn't want to at the time, but glad I did now), it does everything I ever needed out of my 2 Ram 1500s and my F250, plus it'll still be worth something a few years down the road.

  • My girlfriend's mom has one of these, dare I call it a "truck". It is perfect for women and Mr. suburb dad who won't haul anything except plants and yard supplies. As far as heavy duty work i falls short, very short.

  • my dad has this car and its my favorite car from all the other ones! i feel so safe in it! its spacious and rides great! as bewd6797 said "best car in its class!"
