I find QuickTime (.mov) to be better quality and better video but it's also less compacted and most programs and websites don't recognize this format but it's better for just a video. Other than that (.avi) is well known and is very nice

Windows Media Video is no way the best export settings from After Effects. If you really want the best quality from After Effects you would look at a TIFF sequence but for YouTube, Quicktime or MP4 will be fine. If it is just for YouTube or you want a small file size to email etc use the H264 codec.

HELP! everytime i render a clip with color correction, its goes from 60 fps to under 29 fps. why does it lag like that? ill try your tut out know but im just curious as to why this happens, maybe my computer isnt strong enough to handle it? 3gig dual core with 32meg graphics card integrated (i know it sucks)
