  • Hey there, Excellent job. I am learning how to fly too and am finding it difficult with landing, i guess whats where the skill lies. Anyway good luck in the future. :)

  • which flying school in YMMB has this G1000 equiped cessna?

  • Oxford Flight Training Academy / Formerly GFS

  • all you guys with the negative comments. give the guy a break man, he's a student pilot, all pilots out there have landed off the centerline at one point or another. and all you racist fucks out there, grow up seriously.

  • can you remember the Registration of this plane?

  • off course I ve been but not that windly forecast besides Its Asian Pilot what else you could expect :P

  • centre line mate!...use your rudder more to keep the nose on centre line

  • on landing it wasnt enough knots and wind caused stall warning. Also referring to BAK books and other data or maybe your instructor should have warned you electric device are not allowed once you are on the air however dont know how you didnt learn important steps dude, no offence to you. Anyway all the best

  • dude you've clearly never flown a cessna before, the idea of a landing is a controlled stall anyway, especially in high winged aircraft.

  • the velocity as u call it was fine. also mate. essendon is a shit airport to learn to fly at. mb is basicly at its training area... essendon is not. mb is better for learning to look for traffic and understand asian pilots that cant speak english.

  • Moorabbin Airport, from my view has not good flying schools so many incidents occured. Essendon airport is best

  • shut up dickhead

  • the landing was pretty good, but the plane was yawing, and rolling all over the place, because of wind?

  • Didnt GFS ever send you to an ALA to learn centerline skills?

  • i landed here today on this runway

    in an intro flight

  • Hey, I thought it was a good vid. Im going to start flying at YMMB soon, and im tossing up between moorabbin flying services(MFS) and general flying services (GFS). What would you guys recommend? Does anyone fly with MFS or GFS?

  • WHO CARES! The G1000 was SEXY!!! lol

Landing on the centerline is boring anyways :-P

  • To Jimmy1322, unless you are a pilot don't judge other peoples landing because it just shows your stupidity.

  • aetow19... u dont have to be a pilot to see that was a woeful landing... The pilot made no attempt to get back to the centerline. ok in this circumstance but what if the runway was half as wide or there had been xwind? near enough is NOT good enough in aviation

  • A perfect landing for the circumstances. You and Jim need to get your hands off your joysticks.

  • what is that sound that cessnas make before they touch down?

  • stall warning

  • that was directed at ac2ging BTW

  • lets try this ok.... slowly so you dont get confused. can you say CENTERLINE.

  • That Avionic is sooooo BAD its really really Fucked up!!!!!!!!! Take a look at the Collins Proline 21!!

  • lol, a C172 with a glass cockpit, never thought i'd see that happen, nice man

  • air china send us to fly at RMIT last year class cockpit is quite good one is quite good but semanal is engine failure several time and some c182 the engine needle sometime doesnt work.

  • what you expect much from flying school, air china pay us cheap price so just get this much is good enough.

  • JEZZZZZZZZZZZZ... Im sure your a great person but english is the ICAO standard language... NOT INGRISH.

  • Bloody GFS...

  • what's wrong with GFS??

  • Say what's not wrong with GFS...

We can't do a good circuit because of them if they are in th circuit. They think they are in 747 not a bloody 172. They shouldn't log it as circuit, they should log it as a cross country.

And it's pretty amazing since the new year 2008, they didn't crash yet.

  • I agree a 100% with mamadico. No one at GFS can do a proper circuit. They should really log it as cross country time.

  • sure u aint confused with rvac/tristar?

if you're such a good pilot - fly your own circuit, dont follow anyone going wide, so long as u dont ride their arse or overtake them you hero

all the wide circuits ive seen since ive been flying at moorabbin over the years have been from other schools tbh

that aside... i think the professional reputation that oxford/gfs holds (prices aside) says something dont u think?

  • Nice landing. The buzzing noise is the stall warning horn that normally sounds while a few feet above the runway.

    I train in a G1000 too

  • im gonna start learning to fly at this airport next year and in the 172 with g1000, can someone tell me what the buzzing sound is for at landing

  • u should learn to fly with the analog flight instruments. because not every plane you fly will have any lcd screens

  • It's the stall warning sound, when the wing is at, or near, stall speed. You'll become very familiar with it during your training!

  • it's actually not the stall speed, the plane can stall at any speed. It's when the plane reaches it max useful angle of attack or CLmax. The sound is achieved, kinda like a when you blow into a coke can at an angle. So yea.

  • whats the rate in one of them?

  • About AU$300/hr

  • 300/hr? for a 172? major rip off

  • 152s are so much easier to fly 172s are fat and hard no to stall :D ps congrats bein a pilot

  • nice, way off center though =/

  • besides class 2 medical, any other written tests or flying tests need to be done before I go solo?

  • you need to pass the pre-solo written test and meet the requirement of circuit handling

  • You also need a flight crew Licence...When I was doing my GFPT I had to wait 3 months for it (No joke) CASA is a joke - $130 for a medical certificate on top of the DAME fee!!!! The pre-solo test is not difficult, and the circuits become routine! Good luck! BTW, nobody from GFS fly EOT, apparently it is shot to shit. A friend took it on the solo NAV, and there were a catalouge of probs.

  • ask on the day u know what melbourne's like

830am u cant go up, 12noon its clear as a window and you can get a clearance thru CTA over YMML

  • ymmb....i'm coming to GFS in 2 weeks time for my first solo...how's the weather like in YMMB now...

  • probly better to start ur flying on analog, i converted to glass after my gfpt so i only got like 2 navs done on analog, but when i go up i dont use the gps etc, only if really needed

  • Do you prefer the glass cockpit or classic cessna when you start your flying?

  • im doing the swin uni course, 2nd yr this year, ive flown EOK :)

  • wow i haven't get to fly one of them yet i use to fly Cessna but not its piper for me

  • It isnt the same flying a piper - I did my GFPT on the analogue instruments - but I was completely blown away at the G-1000's extremely powerful and more accurate system! Trust me - Piper has nothing on them!

  • What plane was it? I fly for GFS too. (PPL) BTW, good approach. In fact, I'm taking EWX to Ballarat tomorrow!

  • It was EOK. Are you studying in Swinburne? Good luck for your flying tomorrow.

  • Comment removed

  • @ymmb Hey man you study at Swin? Im thinking of going there.

  • @TheCrispyChips Graduated 4 years ago. That's a really good place if you want to be a pilot or working in aviation industry.
