  • Great video Uncle Lou!!!! I was able to change my light bulb in 5 minutes thanks to your video!! If it wasn't for you showing the clip and how it worked, I think it would have made the job harder. But thanks to you, I have a working headlight. THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now what should I do if the plug won't come off? What should I use to get it to come off me easy?

  • Great video. Thanks for the help!

  • This was very helpful for my Honda Metropolitan Scooter as well. Thank You!

  • Thank you so much. It was a quick and easy replacement, thanks to your detailed explanation. You kept me from having to go to a shop, and I am one girl who does not like paying for simple repairs.

  • Thanks Uncle Lou! All I needed to see was the trick with the clip, and I was good to go!

  • so helpful! thank you so much!

  • Very helpful. The retainer clip wasn't too bad to remove/replace. There's a little slot between the bulb lip and the plastic retainer for the clip to slip between, you just have to ensure the bulb is pressed in snug and the slot will be there.

  • Thanks! - this really helped me by looking at the video first

  • MARVELOUS THANKS!

  • awesome, thank you!

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • Super helpful and useful video, I looked at the video instructions and I'm able to change the bulb on my CRV 2001 model without any tools in 5 minutes.

  • This video was incredibly helpful. Thanks so much for making it.

  • awesome thank you soo much! (:

  • Thanks for being so kind as to make this great instructional video. I was able to change the headlights in my husband's 2000 CRV as a surprise for him!

  • Thanks for the vid! I probably would have gone a little nutty not knowing about that clip. I was doing this on the drivers side of a 1999 Civic. The headlamps are nearly identical. Little bit tight on the civic though because of the power steering reservoir is right behind the lamp. You have to pull the reservoir off its mounting bracket or have VERY small hands.

  • Uncle Lew, Thank you so much! We (my daughter and I) watched your excellent instructions and changed the headlight in her 1999 CRV with the greatest of ease! Thanks for posting this! You have probably helped out more people than you will ever know! :)

  • Thank you so much! I'm a girl and was able to follow this perfectly. The most help I've found online so far. :)

  • Thank you so much for this, I too had no luck finding help online and you saved me time and money.

  • Thanks Lew. This was really helpful.

  • Thanks Uncle Lew. I bought a used 99 Honda CRV and there was no owner's manual with it. Your video clip was spot on! I got it changed in about 2 minutes.

  • thanks uncle lew! my real uncle was out of town but you helped me change the light on my mom's '97 crv. very clear instructions & everything!

  • Great and very detailed video. It also works the same on my 2001 Civic. Thanks for the help. I was confused when examining my car that you had to push the wire in towards the light, similar to a safety pin. took a minute to figure out but now I can do it in a minute or less. LOL

  • Thanks you for you time and generosity. Its the clip that drove crazy. You guided me to a finish!

  • Thanks for this. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to remove that little clip.

The music made it hard to hear sometimes though.

  • drivers side has little visibility so your close ups really helped

  • hey lew thanks alot no mattter what the assholes say this is very helpful to alot of peeps nice info....

  • Thank you so much.

  • Hi Lew, just replaced the bulb on the driver's side without a problem. Thank you very much.

  • Thank you Lew. Great video and very clear instructions. Now, I just have to go and change the bulb.

  • This really helped of my 05 CRV. They have that space to cramped to really get in there. And the clip was a pain. Thanks again!

  • THANK YOU LEW!!! You made it quick and easy. This is a great video!

  • Thanks Lew - just replaced both of my bulbs easily after watching your video!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It went exactly as you said it would. It was easy and quick.

  • Get video. i ask my dad and brother to change the bulb 3 weeks ago, they never did lol. Finally i can do it on my own.

  • Another satisfied viewer! Thank you much, Uncle Lew- and you're right- that little clip is a bear!

    PS- Great song, too-

  • Awesome job! Your video was exactly what I needed.I just had to go change out my wife's bulb in the dark and in the freezing cold. Couldn't have done it without your video.

  • Hey UncleLew your video was excellent. I have one problem, when I went to unclip the clip that holds the light inplace it came off. Do you have any idea how it goes back on. Your help is greatly appreciated, Carl in Florida

  • Great video. Very helpful. Thank you!!!

  • Thank you!

  • thank you!. I was having trouble with the little wire part and getting it to flip up and out to release the bulb. I knew I'd find some help on the internet!

  • thank you!. I was having trouble with the little wire part and getting it to flip up and out to release the bulb. I knew I'd find some help on the internet!

  • Never changed one of these before. Thanks so much for the video showing that awesome clear picture of how the wire retainer goes on this thing!!! This was a piece of cake after watching this video.

  • Thank you mate! I just tried before seeing this video and was nervous of braking something when I got to that metal reatainer clip! Should be good now.

    Cheers and good health!

  • Perfect and very helpful; thank you!

  • Lew - can you do one for a 2002 Mazda Protege? This was excellent!

  • Thank man!!!

  • Thanks!

  • This isnt how to change the headlight, its how to change the headlight bulb. Changing the headlight involves removing the bumper

  • @3:16 - that's what she said!

  • This video was EXTREMELY helpful. I literally changed my headlight in 3 minutes after watching this video. Thanks, Uncle Lou!!!!!

  • Thanks for the refresher! I just finished installing mine (same as what you're using, actually). The passenger side plug was difficult to pull out but with enough determination, I got that sucker loose. The driver side has the windshield wiper reservoir and something else so close to the plug and it took Herculian tugging to get it out. I was just about ready to give it up and take it to a garage when I finally popped off. The wire "gate" was a b**ch to re-latch too. Rubber caps: no problem.

  • Thanks dude.

  • Great video, really gave me the confidence to do it myself, and it turned out to be pretty easy. Thanks!

  • Thank you for the concise instructions, attempted to do this according to the owners manual and got stuck at the unclip the hold wire step. Pushing the tabbed part of the wire was the key to unhooking it--I would have never guessed that through the written instructions. Thanks for empowering us girls!! PS. wasn't quite sure about the needlenose pliers and flat head screwdriver--didn't need them.

  • Easiest 8 min fix I've done... right up there with changing my cabin air filter. Thanks Uncle Lew !

  • Fantastic. Just did it today with the same Sylvanias... Thanks for the guidance!!

  • Hay que ser muy bobo para no saber cambiar una simple lamparita de los faros delanteros.

  • Thank you sooo very much. Your video helped explain the whole process for my '97 Honda CRV. I'm glad you took the time to video record that clip, otherwise I might have damaged it. All in all, it took me about 7 minutes to remove and replace. Thanks again

  • Thanks Uncle Lew!!!! You made this job much easier. I appreciate the help and the time you spent putting this video together.

  • Great video, helped make a previously irksome job much easier...done in 5 minutes. Thanks!

  • Thanks for saving me gobs of time on this job. I had to replace a bulb on my '98 CRV a couple of years ago and it took me about 40 minutes to get the job done, with much cursing along the way. Today I looked at this vid before tackling the same job (this time on the passenger side) and it only took 5 minutes. I opened the hood and knew exactly what to do this time. Thanks!!!!!

  • Thanks so much. For a complete auto ignoramus such as me, it took me exactly 3 minutes to change the headlight of my Honda Odyssey 2000. Yes, this is exactly the same procedure for that vehicle as well. Thanks for saving me a whole bunch of time and effort.

  • thank -you very much. It was a great help!

  • Thanks Uncle Lew, You saved me a headache and a few bucks. Local garage wanted 35 beans to replace one bulb.

  • @uscg906 really?

do you live in the 1700s, or do they just use beans as currency where youre from

  • That was great! Thank You :)

  • OH man! Thank you so much! This video was very helpful and awesome! You totally do deserve a medal of honor!

  • thanks uncle lew...you deserve a medal of honor

  • perrrfect thanks I ll try the info on my 2006 crv

  • Thanks! Is there anyway u could post without the music?

  • Thanks UncleLew for the great video! - 2004 Odyssey owner

  • Thanks for this video UncleLew. I was having trouble with my metal clip. This will be my 3rd attempt to secure the bulb to the headlamp. - 2004 Odyssey

  • thanx Lew! Clear and relaxing video! I'm having trouble with the metal clip too, but I will try pushing it in thanx to you! and i'm a guy that feels like a girly man in not being able to fix my wife's odyssey headlight!

  • Thank you so much. I was able to replace a headlight on my CRV 2004 with the help of your instruction. A bulb cost me only $10. I wonder how much a dealer will charge for the same job.

  • This video..priceless! I have a 2006 Honda CRV and this video saved me lots of frustration!

    You rock UncleLew!

  • Very helpful. Thank you. HONDA FOREVER!

  • Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of time and frustration.

  • hey uncle lew, nice vid. i got a quick question though its not to do with headlights. whats the crv like for gas mileage and also what are tire prices like ? any other pros/cons on crv's would be much appreciated .

    thanks

  • Just amazing! It took me 3 minutes to change my headlights! You made this girl very happy!!!

  • You rule Uncle Lew!

  • I tried to change the headlight like few weeks ago and couldn't get the metal clip to open. I've a much better understanding after watching this video. THANKS SO MUCH.

  • Thank you so much UncleLew. Your instructions were so perfect even a girly girl like me could do it.

  • Why thank you! I'm glad 'girly-girls' like you can change their headlights now with ease! :)

  • Thanks Uncle Lew!!!! You saved hours and hours of work and maybe a car repair once I broke something. I was able to replace my Civic headlights easily with this video.

  • Excellent video. Like the BlitzKrieg1 and ActingUpMiami noted in their comments I also figured this was a 3 hr job. The video allowed me to make the change in less that 5 min on my 2006 CRV.

  • Awesome and straight forward. Thank you so much Uncle Lew

  • EXCELLENT video! I lost my manual, and did extensive searching on the net, found a bunch of text CRAP that did not properly explain how to do this....GREAT job, especially the "freeze frame" close ups that you did.....awesome........btw works for 2003 CR-V as well

  • I meant LESS THAN five mintues! Sorry about that.

  • I found the WIKI Answers online first and I was afraid I'd be facing a three hour ordeal. Thankfully, I ran across your video. The preparation time took longer than actually changing the bulb. >5 mins.

This world needs more Uncle Lews!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Thanks so much, Uncle Lew! I just changed both my bulbs in less than 5 minutes after watching this video. I was bummed because I just spent unexpected money replacing new tires for my cross country trip and then my friend told me my drivers headlamp was out!!! After watching your video, I changed them myself and saved the $ the dealer would have charged me! Thanks so much! Awesome video and instruction!

  • what's the name of this song?

it came out on the movie "rules of attraction"

    it's a cool movie

  • Thanks for this great tutorial ...by far the best on the Internet! You saved me a lot of time, and I really appreciate the effort you put into this video!

  • thanks a lot. i change my globe into blue one n looks really good, but the small corner one is still yellow(not the indicator, low beam one)how to change?thanx good job.

  • Couldn't have done it without this video!

  • This is an excellent video. On our 1998 CRV, access was limited on the driver's side. Getting the electrical connector off was difficult. It resisted, but my wife's small hands got in there at a better angle and her powerful muscles prevailed. The rest was easy and as described in the video.

  • This is the best how to video on headlights i've found so far. I just got a ticket last night for my light being out (damn cops) and I will definately be going to buy some bulbs today. People have told me how easy it is to just change it yourself and I never cared to find out. I should've looked this video up earlier. We'll see how I do. Thanx!

  • Thanks it helped me alot .

I was stumped last night about my Hyundai Elantra with H7 balb so I searched for any video this morning. I guessed it was similar to all cars. I didn't have a flashlight last night. My mainproblem was getting the clamp off. My other problem was that the Battery is installed infront of the headlight and the plastic screws for the top plastic cover gave me trouble. I used the power plug to hold the balb and guided it into the socket.

  • thanks a million! i almost lit my car on fire i couldn't figure it out for the life of me! i have a honda del sol so its not got as much room to move around but it was the same concept! thanks a million again!
