  • Are GPV-1 still aloud on the track?

  • Will the stock ESC handle a brushless motor? I know it should handle a lipo battery.

BTW just got a GPV-1 yesterday - sale at my LHS £99 just HAD to buy it! :)

  • Bargain! the kit ESC is not that good, sling it away and fit something with better brakes, whether brushed or brushless.

  • Cheers - any recommendations? Any websites for hints and tips on RC biking? OK I'm not looking to race at the moment - just a fun RC toy to whizz around a car park, AND I need to get used to it, but I'd like to get to grips with the setup etc. same as what I do with my RC helicopter.

  • Des, Just got my second GPV-1 but we have snow right now in NY state. I plan to run it at the local track once they finish the renovations. New owners. I'll post videos once we get them taken.

  • Cool, yeah pretty wet and cold here too, looking forward to the new BRCA Bike season now we have 1/5th and 1/8th bikes competing.

  • I keep debating it,maybe I should just buy one.........

  • Have you got any 1/10th tarmac circuits near you, if so go along and test it properly, works best on smooth tarmac, It's a race bike after all!

  • how many batteries and motor are you running?

im curious on the power output and turns.

  • Most run 2S Lipo and a 5000kv brushless motor on standard gearing. A Faster motor just gets into trouble faster and makes the tyres grow too far! You can run a little 6 cell NiMh instead, but LiPo are lighter and more reliable.

  • ok thanks, so its a 380/400 size motor then,

  • Close, a 370 motor in the RTR kit, though most brushless systems seem to be slightly smaller diameter, typically 5000kv.

  • 7,2V?

Im thinking about buying a bike, and i got recommended 1/5 scale since they are not so sensitive about bumps. agreed?

get a small steel arc on the swing arm( wheelie bar) and you can wheelie all day without no worries about flipping it around.

  • Yeah 1/5th handle bumps better than 1/8th which need a real smooth circuit or clean carpark to work well.

  • what kind of on-board cam did you use?

  • I have a FlyCam One2 from J Perkins in the UK and it works fine, small enough to put anywhere.

  • is it difficult to drive?

    thanks

  • No, just takes practise and an open mind, bikes don't drive like cars, that's the fun of it!

  • I'm gonna go get myself a GPV 1 next week!!! Can't wait.

  • SMOOTH

  • they look flimsy they don't go fast give me a car or buggy any day

  • Flimsy they are not, slow, nope again, I'm having the brake as I get to the rostrum at bedworth and I'm only making half speed at that, braking well early to make the turn!!

Anyway let's see your car pull wheelies mate !! ;-)

  • yeah! wheelies like THAT! almost flips th bike over

  • Well I have flipped it a few times, at the end of every race I can't help pullies wheelies for the crowd and it usually ends up with me going too far, but they bounce well!

  • love the video... the gpv rocks!

  • Sure does, brought a lot of action to 1/10th tracks that the 1/5th bikes just can't use.

  • love these things, Venom have a lot to answer for..........:)

    mp

  • Go on you know you want to, cheapest crash you'll ever have.
