The line with 1.Rxf4 Bg6 2.Qxg6 fxg6 3.Bd5+ Rf7 White simply wins with 4.Rxf7... If Black exchanges the queen back on f4 White ends up taking the pawn on d6 with connected passers and winning or if Black moves the Queen from e7 White will have a discoved check that wins the queen leaving White with huge material advantage. The only caveat is that a Black Ra2+ has to be met by Kh1. You had the whole right idea, but got stuck with Bxf7+Kf8, not necessary.
@ak3dog This is true, you must have had pop ups turned off as it was in the annotations. If you turn off those then it can't show my annotations. Anyway, yeah, I noticed that awhile ago. Both actually win, but Rxf7 is simpler due to the threats of discoveries which can't be met. But Surtees definitely screwed this one up. I think he should have won.
@njerzynek Quite possibly, that sometimes happens with annotation. Ironically, I think I've corrected it with some Youtube annotation, but it is a double question mark. If you are talking about Bd5?? Certainly a blunder. He looked sick after knowing he missed a win. In fact there is an easier win than I mentioned in this video that the computer saw. Back is dead after Rxf4!
No d6 does not work due to rh2+, kh1, qxg4 threatening mate
