  • great video

  • Lisa, if I want to talk about various products on my site do I need to specify copyrights and if somehow might I go about doing this?

  • Hey Lisa,

I have found your videos very interesting and full of information. Thank you very much for all your time spent giving the public over-generous amounts of information. I recently bought SBI. I am loving the training videos. I'm beginning to understand a lot about what it takes to create a business. I do have a question about an idea I have (one of many). I wanted to create a website with SBI where I can sell a lot of my music audio and original music scores. Can I do that?

  • Lisa, I found this very helpful. You are a really great teacher. I understand more than before what I can and cannot do with Site Build It! I'm going to check out your sites. I know they will be clear and easy to understand because this video was. Than you.

  • G A P

  • There's also a service called Squarespace. You've probably heard of it. What is your opinion of this service?

  • not bad

  • can people other than lisa tell me if they actually tried out SBI and turned out to be successful?? im a student and i want to do a travel blog but i have no big money, but if its worth it i wanna create one

  • @ALittleLessStupid Go to websitebabble(dot)com and there is a sub forum on the home page called site build it. You can read countless stories and see sites of other successful SBI! owners.

  • @lisa3876 ok thanks so much i really wanna try it out, but lisa could you tell me the quickest way to get money online so that i can get the 299 to start up SBI?

  • @ALittleLessStupid - I bought it a few days ago and have spent hours on it. I think it poorly explains its tools. I am about to request a refund. I get more out of the google keyword tool and people who extract and explain, well, the principles that can be applied without this complicated tool. I think Ken Evoy is brilliant and I have been using his ebooks for years, but when dealing with numerical values, I need to have clear explanation of what the numbers mean and how they are used together.

  • SBI is an amazing webhost. I was inspired by Lisa's videos. I think Lisa is one of the most honest and amazing people I've even seen on YouTube, or the web, period. I did go over to SBI, and the only problem is their system is not user friendly. SBI needs to streamline the learning curve somehow. Once I read the Action Guide, I estimated it would take six months before I could even learn pages one through four. Completely overwhelming. I'll stick with my current web host for now.

  • @sgilk4 Okay. I've mulled over this for the last week. SBI is the best thing going. I was so intimidated that for about two days, I wanted to quit. I talked to one of the tech support staff, and I signed up again. I guess I have to understand that SBI is incredibly comprehensive, and they force you to slow down. I had to get inside my own head and slow down. SBI, I got your back! I'm back for good this time. I love me some Lisa and I love me some SBI. Ken Evoy does not play!

  • @sgilk4 I terminated my website with CitiMax and now I'm completely with SBI. Every day is slow. But every day I make progress. With each passing day, I fall deeper in love with Ken Evoy. I've been on SBI three months on and I'm barely on day 3. I'm barely starting on my blueprint. But I now see with clarity why they do things the way they do. I have never seen anything like SBI. If you go anywhere else, you are wasting time.

  • hi Lisa, im new to this and have a question. Im hoping to have several websites so do i need to buy SBI everytime for every website or can i buy it once and use it to hosty all my websites (domains).

  • Hi Lisa, I have a SBI! question: I noticed by looking at other people's SBI sites that they all do a "SBI changed my life" page and a promotion to SBI. Do publishers have to do this on their SBI pages? Honestly, sometimes it looks cheesy. Also, if you buy it and decide it's not for you, do you loose your URL? Thanks for the info!! Love your channels.

  • @deeinkc LOL, no. They're just affiliates of SiteSell and they have a very generous program so that's why people do it. You are free to put or not put whatever you want on your site. You ALWAYS own you content and domain and are free to move it elsewhere if you don't like the program.

  • This was more informative than a lot of other "testimonials". Considering using your affiliate. I've seen your videos a few years ago and wondered if I'd stumble on them again. Gonna subscribe now :)

  • Lisa I would like to know if sitebuild it still relevant in 2011? I see this video was posted in 2009 so would you still recommend it?

  • @nolaflix Absolutely. Watch my most recent vid on this channel "Why Some Bloggers Struggle With Affiliate Marketing" and I talk about my amazing traffic to my Site Build It! site. SBI! is very relevant today and the company is doing well.

  • @lisa3876 Hi Lisa! you are really articulate and know what you're saying. I believe that you've accumulated gems of wisdom and wealth of experience. And I that is why I would like to ask you whether you think I should use site build it for establishing my Translation website (I guess it is sort of service website, right?). Thanks Lisa!

  • OMG...I thought I was in love with your natural hair website and videos...you are inspirational in many aspects...thanks for all of your information...I will definitely be tuning in...

  • GIVE ME THE TOOLS I WANNA USE THEM

  • SBI, now "SiteSell" doesn't support PHP? Can I use Perl for forms?

What you have is a series of "brochureware". Static content, typically unchanging. Usually poorly coded, without associated e-mail addresses for proper credibility. 42 errors on "2createawebsite" main page alone. DreamWeaver isn't a silver bullet.

LOL. Professionally developed sites auto build Site Maps. What about RSS Syndication, SEO architecture, Google Maps integration, hCards? I'm subscribing purely for comedic aspects.

  • lisa, your video tutorials are exceptional, i have checked out several as i am a complete novice but like all of us, i must work. So i have had to learn a lot right away. It is scary as i am 62 retired until now with husband lost his eyesight. You are the first one that uses plain language, understandable and complete, you have helped me sooooo much. God Bless, 1000lakes n.foxmail@gmail.com

  • When I said "too good to be true" it was more out of excitement and shock that I stumbled upon something (SiteBuild It) that could potentially be so life changing and help me to live the kind of life I've dreamed of. I plan on purchasing SBI! at some point this month to get started on my first site. If I purchase SBI! through your link I am under the impression I am assigned to your team? I don't remember where I read that but if it's true what does that consist of exactly?

  • Hey Lisa, thanks for the video I found it very informative. Being a skeptical person SBI seems almost too good to be true to me but I think it's definitely worth the $300 to find out. Do you mind me asking how you built most of your site? Did you compile research through other online articles and databases and mix these with personal experience? If so, do you have to cite each web address where your information was found.

Thanks so much for your help your website looks great by the way.

  • @Pokerkid33 Not sure why you say "too good to be true" when they don't promise success and are the most realistic company when it comes to telling you what to expect. Most programs don't emphasize how much work goes into building a money making site (no matter the host you choose) but SBI! does. Most of my articles are based on personal experience and knowledge gained as I worked out/exercised. But 85% is personal experience and I cite sources when necessary.

  • great video as always you are awesome lisa very sincere really enjoying watching your videos

  • I want to use SBI can you please do a how too video?

  • Hello Lisa! I've watched several of your you tube videos and have found them very informative. I'm thinking about purchasing SBI ( through your affiliate link of course) and was wondering is SBI a good fit for an e-commerce site? Thanks in advance and I will see you at the top!

  • @rburtonii12 Thanks! Yes, check out jugglenow(dot)com and that's an example of an ecommerce site using SBI!.

  • I just bought Site Builder and damn its hard I have no idea? How to work this thing.

  • Lisa i like the video but i really need to know is when finish setting up my site do the show you how to add affiliate link to my site.

  • is it possible to disign a website by myself and then upload it to site sell it ?

  • Your so tough, I like it

  • Your website looks awesome. Thank you for this presentation about sitebuildit.

  • Hey sis! I went to the Site Build It website and it looks very good. I do not have a problems signing up under you, somebody has to get paid. Wwhy not you? I am going to join now. Heads up guys! They are offering a monthly plan for those who can not put out the $299. You can break payment into payments of $29.99 per month! Pam

  • Real nice job on explaining sitebuild it Lisa! I just might embed your video on my sitebuild it site. Kevin

  • Hi Lisa - I watched a couple of your video as I was right about to start with SBI. I got a phone call from My directory MD. Have you heard of them? Please inform me which is the right choice because they are around the same price. Thanks Lisa!

  • lisa, am considering buying site built it. Can you elaborate on how to host things like forms on another server but still use site built it.

  • They have a service called Infinit which instructs you how to link up the hosts so you can host your own forums, blogs, shopping carts, or whatever script you need.

  • Lisa, what type of equipment do you use to make your videos? Maybe a video on how to make a video :)

  • well, the prof is that when you type on google the question "how to create a websit?" your site comes up number 4 in the search engine so that means that you should be making something right

  • i am considering sitebuild it now b/c of your honesty. thanks again.

  • great info on the topic of myths. i like the fact that you are very honest b/c so many clowns out there will only give you the "goods" but nothing really to stop you from going down the wrong road. it's refreshing--you must be a Christian. glory to the LORD God if you are

  • I don't quite understand the reason for SBI. It sounds like SBI is an all in one tool that costs 300 dollars when you can do everything yourself for half the price. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I am very interested in internet marketing.

  • Thank you for sharing this information. Your videos are always helpful.

  • hello lisa well i am a big fan of your work and i am hoping to get SBI soon because you are recommending it and hopefully this will help me out ..:)

  • Hello Lisa, I'm trying to start my own business, but I'm having a hard time with the finances. My income per month is literally under $100. (trying not to go illegal). I have become a decent graphic designer but without any formal teaching, therefore no degrees. (because of my background) would like to know, if there are any resources for someone with little income to start a website, that will generate money,or has the potential to generate money. Please any and all help is appreciated.

  • Hi Lisa - I want to market downloadable digital goods. Can SBI provide me or work with "digital goods delivery" functionality? If not - can you recommend another good webhost package? Thanks for all you do!

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this video Lisa. I have learned a few things from you today whether I decide to use SBI or not. I looked at your site and wow that is a lot of content it must have taken you ages. Best of luck with all your ventures. If I do decide to buy SBI I will come back here and click on your link as your honesty is refreshing.

  • Thank you. This has helped me in deciding whether or not to go with SBI.

  • 299 is a hit in these days but I still want to do it.

  • Informative video Lisa. Question though, What if in the future site build it decides to jack there yearly price up a whole lote and you cant afford it and dont pay, do you lose your website and all of the hard work you put into it? how does all that work? . Thanks

  • Hi Lisa, great video, I'm signing up to SBI this morning, and am so excited about the possibilities of building my own website, you have inspired me, thankyou.

  • I'm an SBI'er and I love it....3 years in and loving it. It is not a GET RICH QUICK deal, IT IS a formula for success if you have a little time to learn and build. She's correct, there is a lot of reading but it's all extremely informational and it simply works.

  • I don't remember waiting. Seems to me I got my login info right away. Maybe something has changed since I purchased 4 years ago.

  • actually it seems it was my fault with a typo in the e-mail. Sorry i didnt order through you...only saw your video when i angrily went to look for answers. i have got my product this morning and it is very impressive so far. Your videos are excellent and very sincere well done!

  • Oh cool! Glad it all worked out. Thanks for coming back to comment and clarify.

  • i like your page when you are straight to the point, but when your responding to critics about your objective, i think it takes away from your strength. critics will always will be there

  • Good point. Nothing you can do about critics right? Thanks for the feedback.

  • Can I host a website designed on Yahoo Sitebuilder with another I.S.P. than Yahoo?

  • Thank you Lisa, very informative. I am working on getting started and will be using SBI. I am in the process of reading your book on " how to"

  • Lisa! Your 17 min video is so fun to watch. I just became an affiliate and am browsing for things to support my 'how I build my website' page (don't worry, no copying!!!) May be we should tell Ken Envoy to make his videos as fun as yours (sorry, Ken!) 17 mins well spent, really! I hope I can be as successful as you in my journey! Keep up with your great work.

    Best,

    Pradichaya

  • If you own a Mac I recommend getting iWeb.

Many people think you can do anything with it. You can pretty much do the same things Dreamweaver can with "Html Snippets." And it's just a little easier to use.

  • love it!!! great! inspiring! i will find out if you do coaching! i want to be like you but be me!

  • I've been in research mode trying to find the right tool to launch an internet business. I'm pretty convinced that SBI just might be the gateway/tool I need. It sounds like the templates are very basic though. I've been building a design with a program called Webeasy and am pretty impressed with the design results but haven't launched yet. Can you tell me if at some point I can use the design created in this program for my SBI site or should I just scrapp it and start fresh with SBI?

  • The templates are very basic and that is my biggest complaint BUT they are in the process of changing all that this summer with new templates. Yay! But to answer your question, Yes, I created my SBI! site in dreamweaver. If you go to flat-stomach-exercises(dot)com you'll see that my site doesn't look anything like the standard templates. You can go on your own and use any editor. But I would highly recommend you have a basic understanding of HTML/CSS before you do.

  • word press?? Wow, I am green...lol. Talk about an internet dummie! I'll have to check that out! Thanks Lisa for all your help. It's wonderful to see someone like you on YouTube. You are so open and honest and I am truly grateful that I found you.

  • Hi Lisa,

You've definitely earned my respect and I value your opinion in the area of website creation and hosting. I saw in a previous post (and in your video) that you do not recommend SBI for hosting a social networking website due to the technical restraints involved. I wanted to ask you which web host would you recommend for a website like that. Your opinion, as always, is greatly appreciated.

  • i am a huge sports fan and was wondering, for example, if i talked about improving a persons golf game should i keep it general and stay away from mentioning specific players name. would i have copyright issues by mentioning a popular person?

  • Mentioning popular players on your site shouldn't be a problem, especially if you are just stating facts about the player.

  • thanks a lot for the quick reply i appreciate it :) thanks again

  • So, do you think SBI would be good for someone that already has a storefront and is trying to retail their items online via credit card or paypal?

  • SBI! is good for almost any website (except social networking type sites due to their technical restraints) that need help with generating more traffic and sales. Their main goal is teaching you how to drive targeted traffic to your site and increase your sales. Just understand you may have to unlearn a lot of what you've learned about marketing your site and it may require you to write more content.

  • Very informative video! Thank you.

I was wondering how you put that image link ("2 Create a Website") above your info box at the top right of this page?

  • You have to be a youtube partner. Google it to get the link (I can't post links in comments)

  • Thanks so much for this information. Can I start a site on sbi this year and then move it later once I have more knowledge of how to drive traffic and monetize? Also, can I purchase a domain name somewhere else like godaddy and then host my site on sbi once I am ready to build it? I have several sites planned but I want to focus on one specifically for my first effort. Do you think it's worth it to reserve the domains just in case someone else comes along before I'm ready to build the site?

  • Yes to all your questions except reserving the domain now. The whole purpose of buying SBI! is to let it help you with the brainstorming phase and that includes choosing a domain. You can register somewhere else and transfer it to SBI! but may decide on a different name when you use SBI!.

  • Thanks for the speedy reply! A couple more questions- do you think SBI is good for a fan website for a tv show? Do you have any videos or info on your website that discuss the use of copyrighted material (like logos and pictures) on a website?

  • I personally prefer to stay away from entertainment sites. Not only are the somewhat difficult to monetize (make money from) but you have to deal with the copyright issues. Just a personal preference. Not saying you CAN'T have a successful site with this topic because I'm sure many do.

  • Thanks again for the speedy reply. I appreciate your help and I love your sites. I will definitely link to SBI from you when I purchase. You have saved me so much time that I won't have to spend on the technical side of getting my site up and running. I'll let you know when I launch.

  • need advice on what hosting company should I have if I plan to sell music. A website as an artist?

  • great info

How do I approach companies about selling there products any suggestions

  • Lisa, what is the difference in Sitesell and Site build it? Are they the same or different? If they are different then what's the difference?

  • SiteSell is the company. SBI! is the product.

  • O.k. thanks. You are a great assest to the internet marketing community. I am a leader in my industry but i am willing to follow you for endorsing SBI! with much confidence. Thanks Lisa

  • Lisa, the internet is always changing. Will site build it keep us abreast of new changes so that we can apply those strategies to our websites.

  • That is a GREAT question and that is one benefit I always forget to promote. YES! Unlike other hosting companies, SBI! literally has a team of people who are in charge of keeping up with the latest trends (social networking site, different ways to promote your site) and you'll get newsletters with advice on how to implement strategies and use the tools, sites, etc.

  • Awesome!! Thanks Lisa.

  • hi lisa. i had my sbi site for over a year and followed directions to the tee but im not at all ranking in SEs. and even sbi forum cant figure out why my site is charcoalandpencildrawing dot calm. im bout to give up w all this online business thing

  • My goodness you are so beautiful...

  • Hi Nath, To be honest, yes.. you will have a lot more to learn than I did because the net has changed and there are many more options. So be realistic and expect for this to take some time. I had a record year in 2008 and 2009 looks to be more of the same. I'm sure the recession has impacted me in some way but I am still doing very well. How well you do depends on how well you learn to reach your audience and build trust so people buy from you.

  • so with that program site-built-it u cant upload or put any links or put some downloads at all?

  • its best to host the site yourself, and just buy a domain name.

  • yea and get zero traffic or expensive traffic

  • Hey lisa what do you think about cash gifting?

  • Check my video titled "MLM vs. Affiliate Marketing" and I discuss it briefly. In short.... I don't endorse it but admit I don't know a lot about it. Unfortunately the videos on the web about it make it look very fishy so if there are legit options the numerous spammy videos give the program a bad name and make it look suspicious.

  • Really good information, thanks

  • Have watched several of your videos now and appreciate your honest appraisal of things. I've been impressed with SBI but haven't purchased yet. Am going through their free Masters Course and learning a lot. Will most likely sign up with them to start my website. Appreciate your help, common sense, ethics and down-to-earth style. Thanks so much.

  • I want to build a site for selling music. Were persons can play sample tracks and pay for and download music. Which web host is right for me?

  • very smart girl :)

    great info ...thanks

  • It's amazing how we associate the internet with free or cheap? I just launched my 4th site and building each one I was always looking for free or cheap ways to get things done. Funny thing is, when I started my offline businesses I expected to spend money. I'm only now realizing the error of my ways. Lisa, thanks for this and all your videos. The under lying theme is always, stop being cheap and lazy, and do it right. I don't believe it takes money to make money. But it sure takes something.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. :) I am actually getting ready to launch a new video about the problem with "free" online and how many people don't treat making money online as a true business. So stay tuned!!

  • Hey Lisa,

I just started watching your vids and im lookin forward to seem them all. I am curious to how many websites you have?? thanks

  • 3 websites, 1 blog and a forum. You can see my websites by viewing my YouTube channel homepage (click my username)

  • You have figured out!

  • Keep doing it Lisa. I think you are great and I fully support you.

  • hey lisa, i like the layout and compliment you. i came to your website looking to set up a porn based template: charge for video feeds. I do not want porn but intructional videos on my website. if you could give me a tip on how to make my envisionment come true i would truly appretiate it thank you.

  • I love this video.Lisa keep doing what you love to do.Lisa Irby you have a purpose in life and that purpose is to help people succeed in business and in building blogs and websites. You have a god gifted talent keep doing what you love to do.

  • if YOU are happy that is all that matters. there will always be confusion on silly folks minds. i trust you and i will CONSIDER the things you say first. you are happy and i like to follow happy people. you must be doing something right. also thanks for explain more on that site i was gettin lil confused. i mean i see they are great as i did my studies. i'd rather you have my few bucks than anyone else so hell, why not. that is your job, so ill help YOU back. ty ty love NO LOG IN ty ty lisa

  • Lisa, do you provide coaching via phone.

  • No, sorry. :(

  • Lisa what would you recommend from a beginner that wants to crate a website that wants to crate a small community (membership) in which they can upload and blog about things related to the main topic? Thanks in advance.

  • Get a standard ($3/month) web host and hire a web programmer. :) Membership sites require quite a bit of programming.

  • K, thanks so much :)

  • Lisa,

Once again, you hit it out of the park with this video. Last month (Dec 08) I had my 1st year anniversary with SiteBuildIt and I am tickled to death with the results.

    Darwin

  • Great to hear!! Congratulations.

  • I use website palace. How do you feel about it's templates? Are they feasable as an intro? I don't know much about building sites and coding. But i'm very aware of drawing hits and the various means of promoting via social web mediums.

  • Hey, I want to start a site for yardsales in which is for free but if you want to post pictures it's a membership fee. It's for my home town area because there is nothing like that around and cregslist sucks because yardsale stuff is from cheap tiny to whatever. What do you recomend to start a site like that? And why?

  • Lisa you know you can get a 3$ host and get the SBI information for free ;)

  • I believe I even mentioned that very fact in the video. Many people find the value in having everything in one place and the education that you do not get with a $3 host.

  • Thank you for your honesty about your own product..

  • Like I mentioned earlier SBI might be good for newbies and all... but u really don;t need it and all the things it offers can be done for free. Personally I think its too expensive for what it offers. Hubpages, blogger, squidoo, wikispaces and so on can do the same job or better absolutely free.

  • I would never deny that you can get most of the tools elsewhere for free, but some people prefer to have all the tools in one place not to mention the remarkable education that SiteSell provides that is often missing with the freebies. Everyone learns in different ways and SBI! is ideal for some and not for others. I personally would never want to build my site on blogger or squidoo but that's great your way is working for you. :)

  • Fair enough, although I do disagree that these free sites don't offer tools to build sites easily - squidoo being a good example which offer easy to make lens thru step by step instructions. But like u said if people are happy forking out that much money then all power to them! All I want to say is u dont necessarily have to do it that way!

  • Good job Lisa, sensible people need to know that they should return to your site on the way to a suggested product, but dont waste your breath with the ungrateful people. Its a matter of integrity and gratefulness. Grateful I say, because youve helped and informed them tremendously. I personally plan to comfortably embrace the fact that I make money when my visitors buy. Because not only will my site over deliver, as does yours but also the products, its fair to remind them of ur sacrifice

  • Wow useful info. My site came out the way I wanted it, I had problems with the buttons and got pissed. I'm going to redo my site from the ground up. Thanks Lisa. I like this video. It helped.

  • Greate video Lisa. Please keep posting this videos on YouTube. I find them very helpful and it's nice to look at you. :-)

  • Lisa, I saw video on Blog of website, well I want with Blog... I like hubpage.. I like it so far...I talk about online dating for black lesbin... I have 2 blog up so far! and I have 3 fan who read what I have to said and who have Welcome me to hubpage and...

  • Thanks, Lisa!

If I am buying, I am going to buy it through your link. That's what us affiliate marketers should do, helping each other earn healthy commissions instead of trying to beat the heck out of other people. Whether we buy it through affiliate links or not, we still spend the same amount of money. Just one quick question, are there any other costs involved other than the $299?

  • Hi kjebud. Been trying to reply but having difficulties. You also have the option of adding on Content 2.0 for $99/yr and this will allow people to comment on your articles (similar to a blog) and you can also buy additional domains for $9 but these are all optional. I've never bought anything but the basic package.

  • What do u think about Webeasy to build a site.

  • great to see a honest review...

and not one of these hyped "buy this!!!" videos...

keep up the good work. :)

  • Hey Lisa can I make money taking surveys from PineConeResearch or MyLot or is a scam? I know it won't be munch but is it possible?

  • Good info

  • I being viewing some of lisa video my main interest is web design , In the past I sold alot of stuff on ebay now I am looking for other tools to use my hobby is computers repair Lisa seem like a women of faith , I have skill to build computers from the ground up I have a domain but its not complete .

  • Hi Lisa,

Let's say I am writing about my passion/hobbies using SBI and somehow, halfway through I get stuck (writer's block) and do not know what else to write...how would you go about that?

  • I've never had this happen but one thing you can do is visit forums or blogs that relate to your topic. See what people are talking about. See what questions people have and try to get ideas from that. I get a LOT of my content ideas from feedback emails and topics I see discussed in forums.

  • I love hearing "Make Money While I sleep".

  • LOL! And it's a wonderful thing when you get to that point. :) Gotta love affiliate marketing.

  • Sorry for straying off the topic, but I can't help noticing the bowling pins on your desk. Just curious, what's your bowling average?

Thanks again for another fine video!

  • LOL, Surprised no one has asked that before... it's about 160.

  • Great video. :)

  • Thank you for these Videos!

Keep it Going Please, We are Listening :)

  • Lisa, in the last month, I have become a huge fan of you. I found 2createawebsite, and it has been an amazing reference for me as I have worked to build my own website, The Box Office Junkie. I appreciate your honesty and realistic expectations, and I love that while you are serious, you are always passionate and optimistic. Thanks for all the work you do!

  • Lisa always keeps it real.

  • great video, very informational keep making them please

  • i'm addicted to technology and your informational vids...thx so much!!!

  • cool
