I think New Testiment Book of Hebrews is supposed to explain new covenant but I always had trouble reading it. Actually I was searching for silly Purim videos.
OK i do not mean to be disrespectful but what are Jewish views on Jesus? do you guys deny him? do you believe in his teachings. your Torah reading reminds me or a Koran reading beautiful.
no, jews curse jesus in there talmud in several places. they say he is boiling in hell in his own excrement, they say his mother was a whore. look up the book jesus in the talmud by eric schaffer.or just google jesus in the talmud.
(N.B. I'm Catholic) From what I've read, the Jewish views on Jesus is that he's a false prophet, his mother was conceived normally (not by God), he died on the cross, but he didn't come back to life.
@LVCIVSTVLLIVSATELLVS - He was a Nazarene speaker who spoke against both the rabbis and the temple priests, taught a strange kind of Judaism, and started trouble by calling himself a Jewish King in front of the Romans. That's politically speaking. Religiously, the idea of a man being god is foreign to Judaism and is suspiciously Roman in thought. I don't think Judaism had much to say about Jesus until Christianity spread. It was a strange cultural export.
I wish that I grew up in Jewish culture...I just finished taking my last semester of Hebrew at my Bible College. Definitely, the best education I have ever received. As far as your conversation, I see where it would be hard to view Jesus as the Messiah from a Jewish perspective. However, I think that the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings point to him as the Messiah.
Not when the Christian Church teaches that he cancelled the Torah... Or nullified it. I wouldn't accept him as Mashiach either if I were Jewish looking at the Messiah the Christian Church presents.
I do not think that this is the general perception, or at least not from a Biblical perspective. In Matthew's gospel Jesus is quoted saying that He did not come to abolish (cancel/ nullify) the Law, but to fulfill it. Then he goes on to say that not the least bit of the Law will be abolished. Furthermore, anyone who teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom. (Matthew 5.17-19).
I could not agree with you more. But what does the Church do as a result of verses like these? Eat Ham on Easter?! Disregard any and all festivals?! Work on the Sabbath (and it still is Saturday) and call another day Holy instead? Do people not read their Bibles? I think you and I are on the same page here.
796220=For your information Messianic Jews are not Christians. The term Christian is synonynous only for a Gentile. There is no commandment in the Brit Chadasha for Jewish believers and followers to call themselves Christians.
i said nothing about messianic jews. i belive that if they follow jesus that than there not real jews for it is againts the jewish faith to follow jesus. (not that i have anything againts people who follow jesus).
796220=You are dead wrong. There is only one Messiah. Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah, the begotten Son of HaShem. You want proof? See Pslam 2:7, Proverbs 30:4, Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6. HaMoshiach ze echad, Yeshua ze HaMashiach Yehudi, Bar HaElohim.
796220=Who would say that Jews can't believe in Yeshua (JESUS)? It's a redicilous statement. The earliest believers and followers were Jews, the founding apostles were Jews, the earliest missionaries were Jews and the earliest congregation were entirely Jewish.
796220=What says in the Talmud about Yeshua (JESUS) is definitely and absolutely not true at all. The Talmud is a cheap fake of the Brit Chadasha (New Testament). You want proof? Read Revelation 22:18-19, God made a proclamation not to change the prophecies and neither change nor add anything what is written in the Bible, no further revalation will be given.
it also saiys this in the book of duteronemy that u r not allpwed to add or subbtract laws from the torah. i agree with on that but wat da piont of giveing laws when they cant be explained thats were the talmud comes in.
plus u never answered whether u like to watch a debate on the subject of jesus and christianity. u would like it
Read Daniel 9:24-27, it speaks about the appointed time of the Messiah. He had to come, be crucified and resurrect on the third day before the destruction of the Second Temple. In 70 A.D. many years after Yeshua was crucified, resurrected and ascended, the Roman Army under General Titus smashed Jerusalem and destroyed the Second Temple in fulfillment of that prophecy. You have a choice, either Yeshua (JESUS) is the Messiah or there is none.
796220=Messianic Judaism differs in that they rely totally on the Scriptures. Their faith is the Judaism of the Bible (Biblical Judaism) and is centered around the Messiah and the worldwide salvation He brings. They in Messianic Judaism believe that Yeshua is the promised Messiah and that they don't have to go through the Sages or the Rabbis to know God.
true u dont have to go threw sages or a rabbi to know G-d. G-d can be found in every thing if u try hard enough u will find G-d. but my ? is on weather or not jesus is the messiad wich i dont think he is.

796220=If Rabbinic Judaism is true and Yeshua is not the Messiah, from that perspective HaShem has not done anything for the Gentiles for 2000 years and that is contrary to everything revealed in the Hebrew Scriptures. HaShem is not just the God of Israel, he is the God of all mankind.
(continued)Yeshua has called Israel to be a light to the whole world (Isaiah 49:6 and Isaiah 42:6) to reveal God to everyone and has brought the whole world both Jew and Gentile to know and worship the God of Israel, the promises made in Genesis 12:1-3 has been fulfilled. He is the most influential Jew in all of history, he is clearly the Jewish Messiah.

i just realised another inherent flaw in the bible. if the torah is hebrew and some parts of the bible are in the orginal from other languages then how can you combine the different books to make one book. i.e. there will ineviatbly be loss in translation, etc. and gods original meaning lost.i.e. when quran is translated it regarded as a transaltion and not the quran text or god word.
Moses spoke Ancient Hebrew. He also was a wise man and wrote in the that language. Im just saying, not everyone reads a tranlated bible. I am a jew, I read Modern Hebrew. As well as The ancient Hebrew in our TOrah Scrolls. The only difference is today its written with the modern alphabet. Just looks a little diff
i have a serious fact-of-life question that i want to ask mr. mesitampabay about, and i really need the answer as soon as it may be possible for you to let me informed on the subject, and any abscence of the answer or crossing-out-of-the-subject will be taken as a failure in giving valid and eroneous answers and statements on that fact of life: what was the reason that jews have rejected Muhammad at his first appearence while He was handling the Qur'An??
Over 600 thousand men women and children witnessed the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. G-d says that his Torah is complete and that nothing can be taken away from it or added to it. We are complete with the Torah as it is written and has been understood by our sages.
first of all thankyou for the service. i was intresting to see. you say nothing can be added to the torah, could you please then explain the function of the talmud and why (as i have been tld) certian words are hiden in the torah, or not vocalised, i.e. name of god.

This clip shows the regular public reading of the Torah done with a hand-written Torah scroll or "Sefer Torah.." Jews of course study the Torah's text daily, as well as Neviim, Ketuvim, Tehillim, Midrash, Mishnah, Gemarah, and countless Rabbinic commentaries—all of which are also Torah in addition to the five books. As the Torah tells us, we should study it in our homes and on our way.
