My God! I never learnt 2 play drums, but when I got my firs attempt on a drumkit when I moved 2 Swindon, I woz able 2 play a basic tune of Uprising, which surprised me... the I played a simple bat for 'Valerie' by Amy Winehouse. I surprise myself sometimes... especially with music!

great tutorial, but i learn sooooo much better by the feel, if it sounds good, why do it exactly like it was recorded. i love to play the song with my on spin/ style. so all of you out there just learning to play this is a great beginner song. get it down to YOUR liking and you will learn to play your own style, i promise you will be a much better drummer. not that this dude ain't great teacher, i guess its what you like, your ear !

I see where your going with this lesson but if you're a drummer listen to the bass line and find out in what time it's in. it's that easy. the beat comes from you. You have to just feel it at least that's what I learned from my drum teacher. "Don't follow rules with drumming if it sounds right when your playing to a song it is right." - Mr. Montella ( my drum teacher) I'm not going to lie this guy is a good drummer but he's forgetting to inspire whoever watches this.

During the intro, I thought it was quarter notes on the floor tom with a bass drum hit straight each after and the snare after the 2nd and 4th tom hits.

I really like your take on the instruction with this vid. You pretty much confirmed everything I heard by ear. I can totally follow but I can see why beginners can't. By breaking it down to such small parts, you kind of lose the continuity between each part. Perhaps doing the entire song at the end or larger chunks might help.

Thanks for your polite and constructive criticism but I'm afraid that your opinion has confused me.

The parts I've demonstrated are the only parts in the song. That's it. Apart from a few crash cymbals there is nothing else to learn.

You just learn the separate parts, put on the music and play them in the right place.

it took me about an hour to learn this song ages ago by ear and watching people's covers , but this video just makes it seem impossible.
