  • I always thought (and still do) that Goen would have made a sensational host for a "Password" revival, one that didn't have a "Million Dollar" tag slapped on it.

  • Is that the familiar Pathfinder bell for the win?

  • Auld Lang Syne is a song sung on the occasion of the end of something, it's not just limited to New Year's Eve. The final episode of $ale of the Century in '89 used the song as background music to one of the instant bargains.

  • It replaced with the return of $25,000 Pyramid Monday. Detroit WJBK went to syndicated status when Blackout got cancelled after the first 13 weeks in 1988 and when Monday came, WJBK got the morning filled courtroom shows such as People's Court at 10am. Why did they sing Auld Lang Syne when the show aired on April 1, 1988?

  • It's too bad this show didn't last longer. From what I've seen of it, kt had a pretty fun premise.

  • I heard that Family Feud was the show that was going to replace Blackout. But it wasn't ready then, so they brought back Pyramid until Feud was ready.

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again: I never thought blackout was that bad a show, its jsut pyramid was so popular and blackout was shunned since it replaced pyramid.

  • this could have be a syndicated show

  • Bob Goen also hosted another short lived syndicated show called "Perfect Mtach" produced by Lorimar-Telepictures in 1986.

  • BTW, since Johnny Gilbert was out due to the fact that he was ill, I was wondering, did anybody fill-in for Johnny on Jeopardy!?

  • Kind of ironic that a Goen show would replace, then later be replaced by, Pyramid, well, at least ironic to me anyhow, I always thought Goen would be a perfect fit to host Pyramid. With all due respect to Donny Osmond and John Davidson, I think Bob Goen would be the best choice to fill Dick Clark's shoes.

  • No wonder game show fans wanted The $25,000 Pyramid to return to daytime tv back in 1988 that game show Blackout was really short lived.

  • NOTE: This Jay Wolpert logo existed starting in the 2nd week of Blackout (prior to this, they used the logo shown on Hit Man & Whew! I believe), and it would carry over into Rodeo Drive two years later.

  • @McBearPEI No it was Middle "C" Productions.

  • What a nice way to end "Blackout" with a $10,000 victory!!!

  • Check out Ken's reaction when Bob said that

  • @jhzenor61481 I know...he was on such a roll, too

  • Ken sure didnt like it when Bob told him he couldn't come back on the next show and then Bob explained to the viewers why that was.
