  • Fantastico........

  • Lipatti is the purest of all pianists .

  • Lipatti is the purest of all pianists .

  • Tout simplement fabuleux !

  • Good die young

  • Peut-être la version de référence, elle a du inspirer plus d'un interprète !

  • I love Lipatti!

  • Perfect.

  • Thank you, markarama23, from the bottom of my heart.

  • Superb! TY m for posting

  • The best.

  • Dinu Lipatti actually played this as a lullaby! In her book "Souvenirs de ma vie avec Frank Martin," Maria Martin writes about this "petit choral": "(...) il l'avait joué chez nous pour endormir nos enfants (...)"

  • My mother loved Dinu Lipatti's playing of this piece and it is certainly beautiful!

  • @tachuman So glad you got to enjoy it too!

  • 0 dislikes. perfect definition of the video.

  • @DrCox1404 :-)

  • I meant Wilhelm Friedemann Johann Gottfried Bernhard Johann Christoph Friedrich Johann Christian Carl Philipp Emanuel Regina Susanna Elisabeth Juliana Friederica… and then some :)

  • @anasthasys hahahahahahahahaha

    Yes!

  • ... the kind of lullaby in seconds and thirds he must've spoiled his kids by :)

  • @anasthasys If he'd had kids...which he didn't... :-/

  • Wonderful playing

  • Just like the sound from the heaven

  • later this year (Oct?) we can expect Hyperion to release Jonathan Plowright's 2008 interpretation of this Myra Hess arrangement, along with many other great English transcriptions of JSB. I have posted one - the Sarabande from cello suite no. suite no. 6, transc. Herbert Fryer, on my youtube page

  • wonderful

  • Lipatti's version is my favourite against to the bad qualaty. He plays it very smooth, and he don't dramatize it too much.

Peaple love to say: Bach is the connection beetween human and God.

I love to say: Hess is the connection beetween us and Bach's 147 canatata, choral.

  • @agemate And Lipatti is a strong connection to all of them!

  • i hate musically analysing performances as good as this, but im trying to find reasons why i like it so much...

    1. The bass does its job perfectly. I know its there but unaware of it.

    2. The Schopp melody is perfectly featured.

    3. Myra Hess' arrangement is fantastic.

    4. The control. Total control.

    Beautiful.

  • @dMaN42108 I'm delighted you are enjoying it!

  • Again i say it - It is heavenly !!

  • @lostpebble Absolutely!
