Well put. Its ridiculous how we let Hollywood and advertisers effect our self esteem -and you are right about its impact on guys as well as girls. I am kind of tall and skinny and for a while I found it very frustrating that couldn't put on weight and get "buff." Finally resigned myself to genetic realities and have been much happier - and so has my bf!The Dove campaign sounds like a really good thing.
I had no idea that Dove had a self-esteem campaign even, that's a very honourable thing to support!
To emphasise your point, at 5:04 in the thing of the hollywood people, britney was actually ridiculed and made fun of for being chunky at that performance...so you're spot on with the message you're trying to give.
as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...if one can't love without the looks, then their love is superficial and not worth it...
Love the Dove campaign and loved this video. There are other eating disorders you didn't mention and that sometimes get obscured by the big names of anorexia and bulimia: Binge eating disorder, diabulimia, exercise bulimia, lipophobia, night eating syndrome, orthorexia, pica, and rumination are all also valid eating disorders with which many victims struggle every day, and we must keep them in mind.
And yes, those pics were hot! Wherever did you manage to dig up all those old photos of me? :p
Wow.. that really is inspiring.
Thank you for posting this, you are so right and insightful to this situation.
Take care =)
