  • my son showed me this on here..i was a 56M for 6 years..it was a great mos..you get to work with soldiers and get to "rub" elbows with a lot of officers. there recomendation is great to have when you go to the promotion boards. i rose up the enlisted ranks quickly.. the chaplain is was assigned to 1lt "j.b." bartlett was a "g.i. joe" chaplain through him we both went through airborne and ranger school together..its been 17 years since i ets and jb and i are good friends still today

  • This is me. This is where I belong so That I can provide an excellent Life for my Children and My Wife.

  • this is why america is in debt.

  • 56M, guarantee your spot in heaven :P

  • I just signed my contract for this job about an hour ago at the Houston Meps office.

  • @jewishguyt hey i iam joining in HOUSTON i want this mos. what is "secret clearence"? email me please or simply reply to me. i am going army even though my screen name says sailor. i scored a 63 on the asvab downtown two days ago :) "secret clearence" ??? disqualifications??? thanks

  • A.K.A. chaplains bitch.

  • @liljubaqueadaboi That's OK, you should spend more time with grammar and spelling, anyway.

  • The video forgets to mention you corordinate for funerals as well, esentially this a backstage job and even when you get to your unit you still have to explain to everyone what your job is, but its still a pretty cool job to have and I love doing it.

  • does PASTA-farianism count as a religion in the military? You know church of the flying spaghetti monster?

  • soldiers first? A Minister has to be a MINISTER first and EVERYTHING second

  • @Mider999 a chaplins assistant is not a minister

  • Okay why would anybody want this lame ass job?

Ever heard of the term 'separate the church from the state'?

  • @Ryan12592 because to most soldiers, religion is important, and they want to keep there chaplin safe.. nobody forces you to talk to them, so i dont see your point about seperation between church and state??

  • @Ryan12592 Yes, I've heard of "separation between church and State." Can you tell me where it comes from? Also, what does that have to do with the chaplaincy?

  • @Ryan12592

"Separation of church and state"? That's exactly what chaplains are for; to make sure that people have their first amendment rights to worship as they choose. I used to be an AF chaplain assistant, and I can tell you that you don't understand the military, the chaplaincy, or the first amendment.

  • This video is definitely dated...but the heart of the MOS remains the same. I am a current active duty chaplain assistant with 5 years of service. The job has taught me a lot and kept me from getting sidetracked from all the peer pressure within the Army. Serving in the military is tough, we need our Chaplains and Chaplain asistant leading from the front!

  • I was a CA (64-68) and it was nothing like this ad. One thing I discovered was Clergy should not be officers, but civilian DOD employees. Most chaplains I worked with spent their time hanging out with other officers and could have cared less about the EM. They were more concerned about another promotion or ribbon.

  • HOOAH!!!

  • I can not believe you call yourself a soldier. Who the fuck are you to say which job is important or not. You are a fucking discrace to the United States Military. Every fcking soldier gives there time so fuck you go disarm a bomb and blow your self up you discraceful peice of shit

  • Hahaha fucking wannabe, you don't agree that chaplain MOS is a waste of a soldier?

  • I tried my best to get this job, only get to denied from it because I am a perm. resident.

I'm going 68WM6. Wish me luck.

God Bless all brothers and sisters in arms. Hooah.

  • thanks for replying... Good luck

  • whats the pt like?

  • I SAY HOOAH!

  • i swore in last week in this MOS and i cant wait! i leave for basic january 6th. ft lenwood in missouri

  • how did you get into this MOS is it based on what you score on the ASVAB

  • u have to get a certain score on the ASVAB for it to show up as an option job to pick from. and then it has to be available and from what i hear its not always open to choose from alot

  • i got into it because i had a good enough score which im not sure what the score u at least need but i got a 52 and i qualified for it. but this MOS isnt open alot because theres not as a high demand for it since a chaplain only needs one assistant/bodyguard

  • How high do you have to score on the ASVAB for this MOS

  • im not sure what the exact score you need to at least get to become a chaplain assistant but what i do know is i got a 52 on the ASVAB and i qualified for this MOS. so im guessing 50+

  • cool--thanx

    --good luck

  • I believe the APFT score is +51, but there are also line scores that are important for different career fields.

  • There is a misconception of the ASVAB, because it is not an overall score that they look at, but rather its categorical scoring. The Army scores it into 10 different sections, in order to get the job you want, one must focus on the category they need... EXAMPLE: GT SCORE (General Technical) which is arithmetic, word and sentence comprehension etc.

    God bless.

  • I believe it's 95 in CL (something to do with desk job skills).

  • Very nice, heh I'm enlisting in this MOS next week. I can't wait, help soldiers in need and act as a bodyguard for the chaplain? Best of both worlds imo.

  • Also I forgot to say I am a 24 year old single male looking for a good military woman. I hope to marry or date a chaplin assistant or chaplin or evIen a soldier in the medical field. I appreciate what all of you guys and girls do.

  • Im a civilian never servered and am unable due to a mental illness (asperger syndrome/autism) but am a strong beleiver. All I have to say is thankyou for the 56Ms and the chaplins themselves. I don't care if the ca or c is catholic, jew, protestant or anyother denomoninations or belifes or w/e you want to call it, but I do appreciate what yall do. I am a Red Cross Volunteer at FT Gordon DDEAMC (dwight d eisenhower army medical center) Im going next year for my Red Cross SAF/reserver training

  • You sure dont talk like you have any sort of disability and I agree with what your saying.

  • well you are right tactialdude i don't speak like it because Im just now over the past year completed 12 years of my intervention. I have what is called asperger sydnrome it is in the autism family. But there are different levels of it. min just isn't as severe as most people with the disability. But that wasnt the reason I couldn't serve because even the recruiters didn't know i had one. but its all good.

  • Live to fight for God and Country as a U.S. Army Chaplain Assistant! HOOAH!!

  • im a 56m and i love it. Its a great job if any of yall enlist and get offered this position take it. any questions about chaplains assistants send me a message.... HOOAH

  • Being on a war zone is always risky, but this job does not consist on being on the field most of the time. Sometimes the Chaplain will go out to a battle field, but he will take experience assistant with him.

This MOS is not needed much so when I was there they used me and some of the other assistants as convoy security groups after a month of training in Kuwait.

  • I have no idea why you even viewed this video with an attitude like that. What the video didn't specify is that among other things, the Chaplain Assistant is essentially a bodyguard to the Chaplain. Sounds like a cool job to me.

  • As a matter of fact, its the only jon where the Solider is soly charged with defending the life of an unarmed man in an combat AO..idk about you, but that sounds pretty hard core to me

  • WHy?

  • 56Ms lead the way!
