i found it easier to be able to do a front handspring first before a back. that way you can get used to jumping into a handstand position. then your not so afraid to do it the opposite way
For anyone who is learning this i recommend u do it on the right type of floor or on a mat no concrete or hard carpet NO TILE! just for injury prevention, dont try this if ur not under chaperon for u beginners or may want a coach or go to ur local gym center.
you're a good little teacher but you should probably put a disclaimer in there. Do not try this at home. Try this in a gymnastics gym... where they teach you step by step under supervision lol. People can actually get hurt doing some this....SOME of this...mostly the backwards things. I can just see a little kid watching this and going I WANNA DO THAT! thinking they can...and then break their neck. And that would be bad.
isn't it scary to jump then land on your hands? i'm scared to do it because my arms might get injured because isn't it that your elbows are supposed to be locked when you do a back hand spring?
I wouldn't try doing this at home by yourself without a spotter. Make sure someone can help you that knows what they are doing. Remember, you never want to unlock your arms during thee whole skill. It can be very danergous.
Glitters171717, its really not as bad as it seems. if you can do a back walkover comfortably, try jumping onto your hands a little. when you feel really comfortable with that, you can try a bhs :) and about your elbows and wrists....it doesnt hurt at all. turn your hands in a little and it will be fine
It's more or less the same thing but generally the back flick means you it keeping your lower body straightish whereas back handspring is more curved, but there's not reaaly much noticable difference x
@HaulzQueen. Agreed! That girl was really annoying!!!

a backhand spring is when you jump into a back flip and use your hands just like a spring to bounce off.
