I also have seen many stories of abuse and neglect and think they are one of the more abused breeds, sadly. This video made me cry. Pitts are the most misunderstood breed. They are such sweet dogs and incredibly smart. My friend has a pure bred pitt as well as a mastiff/pitbul/great dane mix and both are seriously the sweetest dogs ever. To anyone who says these animals should be destroyed I hope you die in a fire!

On another note, love your videos Tarantulaguy! I've been pretty frightened of spiders but watching all of your videos with them is really fascinating! And Titus is a wonderful dog! I've met many pitbulls working in the veterinary profession and I can honestly say that small dogs like Chihuahuas scare me a lot more than these guys! You have a gem of a dog and a real champion in your house! Your son would not have been able to grow up so handsome (I've seen him in a few later vids) without Titus!

I own a pitbull myself. And indeed, I get confronted by assholes all the time too who think they know better. Who think that the breed is dangerous. But its not the breed that is dangerous, it is the person standing behind them that can make them dangerous. I love story's like these showing how caring they actually are! My own is a lot smaller but as loving and great as that big guy!
unfortunately for every story like this theres 20 more thats the opposite. I dont think pit bulls should be killed...they aint monsters. However I think they need to be watched closer than most dog breeds.

I am glad you did this. Did you all know that in the 1950s, the pit bull was the family dog of choice? FAMILY DOG! It is the misuse of them that has made some of them attack dogs, but if a dog is loved by its owners, and well taken care of, this is a non-issue. BTW, your Titus is beautiful, and loyal!

i love pitbulls i had alot when i was little lik 5 and under and a few when i 6 there great loyal protective kind dogs people make pitbulls mane but when i comes down to it there kind they were always nice to me they were only agressive when other dogs some mean dobermans that lived across the street got out and were trying to get me and my dogs wouldnt let them there good miss under stood dogs and i love em.
I absolutley love pitbulls and i own two myself, and my oldest dog actually saved me from someone who tried to rob me, he still today after owning him for 10 years will always be a puppy at heart. What your dog did for your baby is absolutely amazing! and btw ur baby is adorable!

Your Pit is awesome such a beautiful and wonderful addition to your family.I have a blue female that was a pound rescue and she is the most wonderful dog so full of love and affection.It burns me up when people pass bsl legislation that's pure bs.
As a kid I was attacked by my neighbors rottweiler in my own backyard. My childhood pet a purebred blue nose pit had darted out the doggy door. He saved me from serious injury and possible death that day. Unfortunately we had to put him down because of laws that said the dog that saved my life was a monster. Needless to say I have had a pit in my house and protecting my family everyday since. When you see a pit acting aggressive, realize he is protecting his family as you would protect yours.
I don't see how the ACA(American Dog Association) doesn't recognize pit bulls as a dog breed,but all these people claim to have stats on pit bulls. Obviously they are incorrect if one of the largest dog associations in the world doesn't even recognize a pit bull as a real dog how can they find such stats? Next time you say pit bulls attack humans more than any other dog breed you might as well say a dragon attacks people more than any other dog because it isn't real.
Every dog can be so playful and be really nice, but then again they can turn so mean. It's not coz of its breed, its in fact the drunk idiot who doesn't train him properly and so it makes a fierce dog that every time you stroke it, it trys to bite you, but if the owners actually cared for the dog and trained it, it could save babys lives (like what he told us) could be protective and very very playful as well. thumbs up if you agree
i got bit on the hand by a 1 year old blue nose and i almost lost a finger but the reason i got bit was because the dog had been abused and was a bait dog for other pits, well my finger is fine and the dog that bit me is now in my custody he is 2 years old just graduated from police k-9 training and s the most loyal dog i have ever met. i can't put it any better than you did "judge the deed not the breed"

Your videos are touching.. We recently had to have our 8 month old pit put down due to Pyometra and an outrageous vet bill. She was just as loving with my 8, 7, and 4 year old daughter.
The Centers for disease control and prevention published the statistics, as well as many others. The findings are clear. Pits cause more fatalities against people every single year. They don't lead in the number of dog bites, but they always lead in fatalities. Most are against children whose parents owned the dog. Thats why I would never own one. If you guys want to take chances with the safety of your kids, thats up to you.

Your dog is clearly a great dog. There are very many great breeds of dogs so why would you choose to own one that has the highest percent change of maiming your child? The stats don't lie. My neighbor also got one from a shelter and its a very sweet dog. She asked us to walk her one day when she couldn't make it home. I wasn't sure about entering her home because I had only met the dog a couple of times months before and have heard all the negative talk about them. The dog couldn't have been nicer to us and always runs to greet us if she sees us outside. They can be great dogs.
bsl can kiss it. My vicious man eater has saved my kids from falling has been used as a seat by my 1 yr old for 4 hours of MIckey mouse club house. These are one of hte best breeds ever there is a reason they were known as americas babysitters. I will never let anyone take my dog. I have seen her chase strangers from the yard while my kids are outside playing and another one saved your baby. @daitonah Right on! My second "job" is Pitbull rescue and rehab and anyone who says this is a vicious breed obviously does not understand them. The biggest problem we face in PB rescue and rehab is media bias. There are SO many stories that hit front page news about Pitbull's attacking and when you see an actual pic of the dog the majority of the time it is NOT a Pit. Don't believe the hype folks - Pittie's are AWESOME!!! They just need proper love and training, like we all do. :)

I was reading the other day about Pitbull that this breed is the most sensitive breed to our human emotions. They know when you are happy, sad, angry. As I'm watching this video I could see that. TITUS made eye contact with the owner every time got emotional as he was talking about the dog saving his sons life. I thought that was amazing

OMG! this is ridiculous. The breed of a dog doesn't matter, the owner does. Dogs can be mean, dogs can be stubborn, dogs can be friendly, and dogs can be anti-social. My best friend bought a pitbull 2 years ago when he was a pup and i tell ya i learned alot from him. Hes the most gentle dog i have ever met and everyday i went over there id play with him for hours and here i am 2 years later and everytime i go to my buddies he whines like a baby when i show up. The only part of him that ever hurts me is his tail lol. All u pitbull owners know damn those tails are like whips hahahaha. but seriously truly an amazing dog and the most loyal dog ive ever seen!

I was one of those people who was hesitant about Pitbulls, I went to the animal shelter to adopt a dog and this pit/shepherd mix stole my heart. I adore everything about her and she is so docile and great with everyone. She doesnt even try to get at my roomie's 4lbs chihuahua. I will be adopting pitbulls from now on.
This makes me miss my pitbull, Titan. He was given to us by a neighbor, but my finace's mom didn't want our two year old to be raised around such a "vicious animal" (alhtough she offered to buy a poodle, known to bite) so she contacted our landlord and apparently we can't to have dogs, even though other neighbors have them. We had to give him to my cousin, which he was stolen from. To this day, Ariana still talks about Titan and says it was her who took him. I'm not telling her any different
i rescued my pit from some irresponsibe kids. it turns out that someone had dropped off a few out of the litter b4 their eyes opened and we got her when she just opened em up. after saving her from a life of dispair (worms n fleas were overriding her body) she turned into the most loving and frisky fur-ball we could ever ask for. she is really hyper and only cuts us if she tries to jump on us 4 attention. but she only lightly licks our 3 month old son and avoids even bringing her paws up to him

This video made me cry. Pitts are the most misunderstood breed. They are such sweet dogs and incredibly smart. My friend has a pure bred pitt as well as a mastiff/pitbul/great dane mix and both are seriously the sweetest dogs ever. To anyone who says these animals should be destroyed I hope you die in a fire!

On another note, love your videos Tarantulaguy! I've been pretty frightened of spiders but watching all of your videos with them is really fascinating! And Titus is a wonderful dog! I've met many pitbulls working in the veterinary profession and I can honestly say that small dogs like Chihuahuas scare me a lot more than these guys! You have a gem of a dog and a real champion in your house! Your son would not have been able to grow up so handsome (I've seen him in a few later vids) without Titus!

As a kid I was attacked by my neighbors rottweiler in my own backyard. My childhood pet a purebred blue nose pit had darted out the doggy door. He saved me from serious injury and possible death that day. Unfortunately we had to put him down because of laws that said the dog that saved my life was a monster. Needless to say I have had a pit in my house and protecting my family everyday since. When you see a pit acting aggressive, realize he is protecting his family as you would protect yours.

I don't see how the ACA(American Dog Association) doesn't recognize pit bulls as a dog breed,but all these people claim to have stats on pit bulls. Obviously they are incorrect if one of the largest dog associations in the world doesn't even recognize a pit bull as a real dog how can they find such stats? i got bit on the hand by a 1 year old blue nose and i almost lost a finger but the reason i got bit was because the dog had been abused and was a bait dog for other pits, well my finger is fine and the dog that bit me is now in my custody he is 2 years old just graduated from police k-9 training and s the most loyal dog i have ever met. i can't put it any better than you did "judge the deed not the breed"

The Centers for disease control and prevention published the statistics, as well as many others. The findings are clear. Pits cause more fatalities against people every single year. They don't lead in the number of dog bites, but they always lead in fatalities. Most are against children whose parents owned the dog. Thats why I would never own one. @huffabubba That is where you are wrong, puts are 4th from the bottom on bite reports and the ONLY reason they are rfeported is becasue they make good news stories...75% are not even pits...they are a mix. Pits have had human agression breed out of them...mix that with a lab and you have screwed the traits up and now have a dog that is 3X more likely to bite a human nd it is labeled a pit when it is NOT! My neighbor also got one from a shelter and its a very sweet dog. She asked us to walk her one day when she couldn't make it home. I wasn't sure about entering her home because I had only met the dog a couple of times months before and have heard all the negative talk about them. The dog couldn't have been nicer to us and always runs to greet us if she sees us outside. They can be great dogs.

bsl can kiss it. My vicious man eater has saved my kids from falling has been used as a seat by my 1 yr old for 4 hours of MIckey mouse club house. These are one of hte best breeds ever there is a reason they were known as americas babysitters. I will never let anyone take my dog. I have seen her chase strangers from the yard while my kids are outside playing and another one saved your baby. @daitonah Right on! My second "job" is Pitbull rescue and rehab and anyone who says this is a vicious breed obviously does not understand them. The biggest problem we face in PB rescue and rehab is media bias. There are SO many stories that hit front page news about Pitbull's attacking and when you see an actual pic of the dog the majority of the time it is NOT a Pit. Don't believe the hype folks - Pittie's are AWESOME!!! They just need proper love and training, like we all do. :)

Any dog risen correctly is amazing. And any dog risen wrongly can be horrible. One thing I do know is that pits are amazing dogs. If treated like a dog should be treated, they are so sweet and loving; as well as loyal. My brother has had his pit since it was a baby and it does nothing but play and love on everyone I know.

My best friend bought a pitbull 2 years ago when he was a pup and i tell ya i learned alot from him. Hes the most gentle dog i have ever met and everyday i went over there id play with him for hours and here i am 2 years later and everytime i go to my buddies he whines like a baby when i show up. The only part of him that ever hurts me is his tail lol. All u pitbull owners know damn those tails are like whips hahahaha. but seriously truly an amazing dog and the most loyal dog ive ever seen!

I was one of those people who was hesitant about Pitbulls, I went to the animal shelter to adopt a dog and this pit/shepherd mix stole my heart. I adore everything about her and she is so docile and great with everyone. She doesnt even try to get at my roomie's 4lbs chihuahua. I will be adopting pitbulls from now on.

This makes me miss my pitbull, Titan. He was given to us by a neighbor, but my finace's mom didn't want our two year old to be raised around such a "vicious animal" (alhtough she offered to buy a poodle, known to bite) so she contacted our landlord and apparently we can't to have dogs, even though other neighbors have them. We had to give him to my cousin, which he was stolen from. To this day, Ariana still talks about Titan and says it was her who took him. I'm not telling her any different

i rescued my pit from some irresponsibe kids. it turns out that someone had dropped off a few out of the litter b4 their eyes opened and we got her when she just opened em up. after saving her from a life of dispair (worms n fleas were overriding her body) she turned into the most loving and frisky fur-ball we could ever ask for. she is really hyper and only cuts us if she tries to jump on us 4 attention. but she only lightly licks our 3 month old son and avoids even bringing her paws up to him
