Just got the M60 today and matches my K90! Build is superb but a few negatives. The rear body is TOO FAT! My Lechesis is flatter and easier to adjust my palm contact. M60's side buttons are too small, thus hard to find quickly during gaming. I wish the buttons were located 1/2" back as my claw style grip has my thumb bent rather than straight-thus less reach. Wish it was smaller! The thin rubber coating should have been thicker like the Lachesis. No buttons on the right side either.
I would buy it, it obviously would fit, and do everything I'd need it to do when playing Quake Live. But, I'm quite happy with my Rat 7 and it hasn't fallen apart....yet. LOL. Very nice review Mr Tom, t'anks.
@LaniusExcubitor1337 You mgiht have had alot of reply's about your dumb comment, but
i have had my RAT 3 Mouse for like 1 year and 2-3 months, and not had any trouble with it at all, don't know what you are taking, unless your finger's are hammers then then it would last 2 days.
@Mudux The serrated blade is on the other side of the knife. Like i said, try slicing a hard cheese with a sharp knife. Its difficult. You have to cut it away from you to do it properly.
@SolisTechandGameplay There are left handed knives. I own one. Its a steak knife and the serrated edge is on the other side of the blade. But their more of a gimmick than anything.
@SolisTechandGameplay Google is your friend, my friend. :) I don't generally use a left handed knife for eating food but when im preparing it (i used to be a chef) i'd use one because it means i can get straight and clean cuts.
I prefer the R.A.T. 7 over this. M60 is nice, but by the looks of it not big enough for my hands, which is still the most important thing about a mouse. If it doesn't feel good in your hand you won't enjoy using it making all the shiny bells and whistles pointless.
It's quite similar with Cyborg, but looks like a alpha version of it. R.A.T. is better in mine opinion, so if U don't need to have evertything from Corsair - don't buy it ;)
Personally I consider reviews of periferals that stretch beyond "It works" superfluous. Choice of mouse, keyboard and earphones/headsets is such an individual choice, that one reviewers personal opinion, no matter how respected, is useless. A video like this basically becomes an advanced unboxing. So thanks for the good look of the product.
@holmpet A review is not useless. It explains how the product works. Let's say someone review a mouse, and says the laser is awful, the mouse buttons "ghosts" and the software fucks itself up all the time. That wouldn't matter on a personal opinion, but how the product works in reality.
@123thepyro123 That's exactly what I said. I don't think reviews as a whole suck, but reviews of periferals become all but a test of wether or not the item functions to specs.
Looks like a pretty decent mouse for the money, and the software looks like it can do pretty much all I need it to do.. I really like the Roccat-esque minimalistic look aswell..
Might pick it up as a substitute for my old worn out Mamba (:
@shawnspeed3 Get the Rat 7 Soo much better. and the dpi slower button Is awesome when snipe ring You change the dpi setting mods While in game. Slow - fast..
i never hear a word about the detent on the scroll wheel. hard or soft. I wish they would make one that you had to actually give an effort to scroll so i'm not changing weapons 10 times a second.
i had this mouse. key word being HAD. while i had it, it was fantastic, but randomly it quit working. i tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling it, trying it on linux, other pcs, and nothing worked. i took it back for a deathadder and its been working great. corsair, fix the mouse and put out a press release saying its fixed, then ill buy one
lol, and I just bought this mouse from Amazon the other day. From my personal experience with it, I find that the build quality is quite decent. The scroll wheel is very sturdy, each scroll up or down feels very responsive although compressing the scroll wheel button down (i.e. mouse 3) is a little stiffer than say what I'm used to from my old DeathAdder. Left and right mouse clicks are sturdy and snappy. The aluminum base is also very sturdy and gives the mouse some good heft.
too small, it seems as those high performance mouses are made for small people. I myself am a big guy and i can easily grab a basketball in my hand, this thing is sooo small it would hurt my hand playin for hours.
does any manufacturer make a mouse with a pinky rest? i had a logitech one a long time ago but that broke and i cant find it anymore at the stores or online. or any other mouse with a pinky rest for that matter. they all have thumb rests but not pinky.
well one of my friends has a naga and compared to my k90 its just not that good. sure the naga has more buttons but nearly everybody that owns one says the last row(nearest your wrist) they cant reach bringing the # of side buttons to the same, and on the k90 you can find each button easier. on build quality the naga is not in the same league k90 hands down here. on the software side of things they are pretty equal with the naga winning this category(just barely).
@vlad1500 well then you could use your brain(if you have one that is fully functional) to realize that i got the k and m of the 90 series peripherals mixed up, it would all make sense then wouldn't it? -_-
Corsair should have called them K-F60, K-M60, M-F60, and M-M60 to get rid of the misconception.
With that said, had the M60 for a week. Absolutely made the right choice. The only thing it's not great with is Glass mousepads. You need to set lift detection to "Very High". Aside from that, great mouse, and absolutely brilliant for BF3 jet evasion and dogfighting. Sniper button is awesome for lining up on gun runs against tanks and such.
@crimson177 I wouldn't say "crap", although my experiences with Razer have been that they're overpriced and of poor build quality, especially for the amount they cost. ^.^
@crimson177 I wouldn't say that, my Lachesis is the best mouse I've used. I've used Steel Series, Logitech, Corsair. Now I'm not going to say all Razer mice are good, but the Lachesis is amazing, I've had it since release. My Diamond-Back was good too, but died after 3 years of heavy use.
This mouse is epic, it's the one I use but when I leave my computer for an hour or so EVERY button but the right click will turn to the left click so I have to re-boot.
hey tom, what about a review of the kfa2 anarchy. as far as i know they've even got their europe branch office in wales ... internet says its the quietest 580 out there and it would be of urgent interest how far it can be oc-ed and still not heard. thanks in advance for your reply. kind regards.
does this mouse have 'notches' ? As in it clicks as you move it. Amount of times I've purchased 'gaming' mouses that have smooth roll, that make you change weapon 16 times when playing.
I have the original G9, and it's fantastic. Dpi on the fly, two different grips to choose from, adjustable weight, and 2 settings for the scroll wheel (where it either clicks or spins freely). Best mouse I've ever owned, try it out.. if you don't like it return it.
@TimeToLiveCustoms6:15 it does all the way around. The "sniper button" brings the DPI down so it get more sensitive. I made a macro on my Razer Mamba 4G to do the same, it brings my DPIs from 6400 to 3200 and its awesome.
@timetolivecustoms. Again Tom it seems Corsair is just copying what Logitech has been doing for years .. Their gaming mouse's and keyboard also have the same software set up .. It seems to me Corsair is just copying everything Logitech is. And has been doing !! Come on Corsair be original and innovative ,, I know ya got it in ya !!
DPI doesn't really mean anything I think. Using 5600 on my Razer Mamba, and it feels same as my old Dell with no DPI settings as soon as you get used to it.
The concept of this looks so much like a prettier R.A.T. 7, but basically the same kind of concept - weighted, and the metal scroll wheel, with a sniper button, the front and back buttons as well....
Does anyone out there actually use the "Sniper Button?" I'm just wondering if its a gimmick or its actually useful. I can't see myself actually using it in a fast paced FPS.
