  • Fuck drugs ,fuck Facebook.Music shall prevail of all!

  • This guy was great. But in death, gave birth to great music i.e Pearl Jam, Temple Of The Dog

  • "Happy birthday to you!

    Happy birthday to you!

    Happy birthday dear Andrew!

    Happy birthday to you!"

  • happy birthday ANDREW WOOD XD

  • Today he would have benn 46 years old. Happy Birthday Andy!! Gone but not forgotten

  • Taken... shut the fuck up;

  • It was always about Purple High-tops and the Dog Show...We miss you terribly Andy...

  • @DenisTheMenace93 not only did it inspire Temple of the Dog but without Temple of the Dog, the members of Pearl Jam would probably not have gotten together so we really owe two great bands to his death as sad as it is

  • his voice is pure rock, Bitches!!

  • I miss the simplicity of the time. I didn't mind being a poster collector, during the grunge period. I like the melodies of that time, music is today so much a monotone, digitally speaking. I can listen to these dudes try, all day, I hate all the bands thinking they "got it". I don't follow the Seattle careers though. Tool followed them and they aren't very talented despite the mathematics and his itchy ass. Seattle was so refreshing. No more waiting for Sabbath. Don't like Foo fighters though.

  • but u gata remeber drugs made grunge ......think abt it who was good and clean durin tht time period?? noone loollzzz i mean this is true 4 most types of music but specialy grunge

  • Rock Star hands down !

Drug abuse is no joke , Andrew Wood was destined for stardom , dancing with Mr. Brownstone has ruined many lives.

  • A very under rated band great album!!!!!!!

  • Im a metal head, but im not ashamed to listen to this because half this band, including the singer, are clearly leaning more toward hair metal. Like borderline.

  • 4:15..... Christian Bale on drums??

  • how do you define "grunge"

  • Andy his name is honored by Eddie

  • Mother Love Bone a credo!

  • wish this song was longer

  • you knew that you're a "STAR"... then they built you a temple 'coz you've become the "DOG"... but you'll forever be our "CHAMPION".

just saw PJ20... missed andy wood... STARDOG CHAMPION

  • there album is so sick! every song is playable all the way through

  • @B0STONBRIAN Most songs are made with that in mind

  • @lurycio i hear what your saying definitely.. but how many albums do you hear these days where they are playable all the way through and i just don't mean one time (as im saying about this cd). Then you have to throw into the mix its the first album (which in MLB case) the only one... there is tons of bands that are still rocking and there first cd wasn't as good as maybe there 2nd or so on..

  • @B0STONBRIAN Not gonna lie, I know quite a few but that's because my taste in music is very varied so I have a lot to choose from.

  • They weren't taken. They chose to be.

  • @jeanely14 Well said, guys like Lennon, Oliva, Zappa, Burton (off the top of my head) were taken. Woods and many many others are gone by their own doing. Sad but i will not moarn those that threw away what others would love to have .... life....

  • @jeanely14 People don't choose mental illness/addiction. Even if they did, they don't deserve to die. That's ignorant.

  • its almost like you are lucky if youre a musician who survived the 90s

  • @1234watsup4321

    lucky... or jewish...

  • So whatever happened to Bruce Fairweather and Greg Gilmore? It kinda sucks that they never had the success that Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament had after the Wood tragedy.

  • andrew wood is the demi god he always knew he' be

  • I listen to MLB,Nirvana and Eminem so basically Rap and Grunge both are great music but new rap is shit

  • @FinSituation New rap isn't rap lol

  • Real men dress up like the Mad Hatter and sound like a cross between Robert Plant, Jack White, and the guy from Jane's Addiction

    Rest in peace, Andy <3

  • Andrew Wood died and so gave birth to Pearl Jam... Fair trade for a human life?

  • @jhamler1 no. not even funny. tragic.

  • @MrBewls Wasn't trying to be funny, just subversive

  • More of a glam metal band than grunge in my opinion.

  • @darklordixor yep, too much 80's glam metal for my taste

  • this reminds me of Jane's addiction a little

  • that kid yelling "stop it now" always puts a sad smile on my face for some reason

  • Smooth smooth tune!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Anrew Wood....man you really could've had it all but....drugs....they're a sum bitch !!

  • Andrew Wood is, I believe, one of the most influencial musicians of the grunge era..he died so early, and yet he is quite famous.. just imagine if was still alive 4-5 years laters..and of course even his death provided us with some awsome music(Temple of the Dog)..you are missed Andy, alongside with all the others taken from drugs..

    R.I.P.

  • @DenisTheMe With Andy still alive there would not be a band called Pearl jam.... God made his choise and we all miss him forever.

  • @TheBoxOfBags

With the style they had (Pearl Jam like jams) they would've gone far. But, yet another heroine claimed soul.

  • Awesome!!!!!!! Too bad the idiot had to throw his life away on the junk......

  • what could have been...

  • don´t forget that alice in chains stars like alice and chains and they were a glam band

  • fuck i likeeee this sonngg ..!!!

  • Fishbone shirt!!!! whoot!

  • @dsnfldgfds

I always found them a bit too LA influenced.

  • never understood why everyone thought they would be huge, typical poser band

  • @dsnfldgfds

Go back and listen to the album, then repost.

  • Anyone who likes Mother Love Bone, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Candlebox, Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, The Melvins, or any other music from the great city of Seattle please come join our group on Facebook called Seattle's Music Scene. share your fav videos, pictures, memories and make a few new friends!!

  • I respect this band a ton, but I prefer both Green River and Pearl Jam. Like others have said, Mother Love Bone embraced the "glam metal" just a bit too much for me.

  • for me he was like some sort of glam singer...not a fan

  • @theachtungtree agreed

  • There were many pioneers of grunge, even outside the Seattle scene. If someone asked me where the seeds of Grunge began, I would say Black Sabbath's "Master of Reality".

Black Flag's "My War" was also a big influence on Seattle bands. Nirvana just brought something to the mainstream that was happening for a long time. I don't hate on Nirvana though, because they were a good band, but they took a lot from early Soundgarden, Melvins, Mudhoney, Green River etc to get their "original" sound.

  • Really, in my eyes, Nirvana were the Metallica of 90's and the grunge scene. They didn't do it first, and they most certaintly didn't do it better. They just caught the eye of the general public and were blown into "The" band.

  • the pioners of grunge..

  • @SuperYellowPecora Nah the pioneers of Grunge were Green River in 1985

  • where is The "LEGEND" Button?

  • I'm a stardog champion...........ufff what an imponent song and Andy Wood was the most under rated singer in rock story, his voice it's amazing....he rocks in heaven...

  • I like this. you can hear where MLB is crossing that fine line, at the time between hair-metal rock and the new Seattle sound. There's still much of the metal swagger, but different somehow. I find it interesting how quickly hair-metal and butt-rock died and their fans seemed to fucking disappear overnight...making room for the more punk-influenced/art-damaged sound from Seattle.

  • @plusgloss I have a theory about this. If the so called “grunge” thing as we know it hadn’t exploded, then glam would have had to grow up and evolve. Were Mother Love Bone the heralds of ‘grunge’ or the grown-up glam that might’ve happened instead if Andrew Wood had lived? We’ll never know.

  • @JoannaoftheZee interesting theory. I am always trying to figure out why metal died so quickly. why the fans went away overnight. metal is dumb, but it still seems so fast. immaturity, perhaps. MLB could be the "not-so-missing-link" between glam/hair-metal and grunge. lots of folks made careers on the back of that. Andrew Wood is a fascinating rock and roll figure. he embodies all the dreams we have as kids growing up it seems. too bad it went so tragic and senseless.

  • @plusgloss Yeah, I agree. If grunge hadn't gotten so big, we might have seen a more 'evolved' and intelligent glam or sorta-glam come through in its place. One with better musicality and lyrics that went deeper than just partying and strippers. Bands like Jane's Addiction and MLB and the Nymphs seemed to indicate the way the wind was blowing pre-Nirvana.

Scary thought: if MLB had gotten huge instead of Nirvana, would Courtney Love have thrown herself at Andy Wood instead of Kurt?

  • @JoannaoftheZee that cunt-piece-of-shit COURTNEY LOVE would have exploited whomever or whatever she had to in order to attain somebody else's wealth. She is an asshole and a no-talent. She just happened to be around when "douche was chic".

  • @Joanna:With many old glammers still plugging way at the same old thing in any willing venue, I'd say not much evolution'd occur in any case. General rule is that musicians do their best work at the beginning of their success. Improvement, evolution, maturing, (in a positive sense)? It happens, but rarely. That's why musicians who die young are so loved: They never got a chance to suck. / Andy lived? MLB's huge? Courtney attaches herself?: Andy dies,1 or 2yrs later than in reality, @the most.

  • personally, i love all the grunge bands, who cares who got more famous?!

they are all great, no arguments.

  • @the77punks what you said there is what the Seattle scene was all about, nicely put!

  • @the77punks oh yeah, that's a true grungy

  • Was Andrew Wood from West Virginia?

  • @ilovejourney1

No. His father, Dave (RIP) was very much alive and well when Andy wrote that lyric.

  • gotta a question bone fans, Did Stone write all the music for this band?

  • @ilovejourney1

Not "all", but, he came up with "most" of the tunes. And, unlike with Pearl Jam, played what could easily be called "lead guitar".

  • @Fakename70 Yeah, his groove playing style probably fit in perfect with wood.

  • @tangyzesty ok using ur logic isnt it possible that by going out and making music some producer etc will decide to make ur music the next big thing. WTF "bands dont form organically anymore" thats just a bullshit statement . As for attitude problems i think its just to many people have the same attitiude as u with there heads stuck in the past and up their own assholes . But i guess u just cant understand that unless u lived in the present with me instead of the world of ur rectum .

  • total underdogs..man real grunge trophy holders

  • I remember when I used to see all the NW greats in the 90's......beautiful. Who would have thunk they would have acheived superstar staus??? They just rocked....locally

  • @gracef8

Very true. I still catch shit online from Nirvana fans outside Seattle who refuse to believe their heroes, pre-Nevermind, were never hometown "superstars" equal to the level of Mudhoney, Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone. Still not sure why the national press had such a hard-on for that band in 1991, but, it was never like that locally before then.

  • @Fakename70 As a Nirvana fan outside of Seattle, I think most of us are very aware of that, and that Nirvana did not do anything Mudhoney didn't do first. And if we are a fan of the scene, know that MLB was supposed to be it's Nirvana. They just got famous first and quick, and I think a lot of that has to do with their tour and support from Sonic Youth. In my opinion anyway.

  • @mlgmoxie

I don't think Mudhoney has ever gotten enough credit outside of Seattle and the U.K. for having "done it first", though. But, you're so right about the SY influence though. That, and The Year Punk Broke helped that band tremendously.

  • man im sick of people bitching about how the 90's was the last great decade of music and how they wish they could go back. shut the fuck up. you cant go back so instead of whining go out and start working on making sick music for the future. by all means look to the past for inspiration but then drag the past into the present and then kick that fucker into the future. see what happens

  • Such an awesome band...

  • What exactly are the lyrics / children singing at the end?

  • Grunge was truly the last great era of music. Then Tween Wave and Emo reared their ugly heads. All our once revered genres turned to over-produced money conscious commodified trend driven concept oriented gimmicky garbage. Bring back the Stardog Champions! Bring back Real Music!

  • I imagine in another reality...((a parellel universe lol)).They were the biggest band ever..^^...And ANdrew wood dint die..

  • This song is fucking amazing !! MLB <3 Andrew Wood <3

  • I should have like 15-20 Mother Love Bone hit songs on my iPod. Sadly, I only have 3. What a shame Andrew Wood

  • andy's voice sounds alot like a mix of axl rose(d-bag) and chris cornell

  • what a talent lost. i love these guys. listen to them regularly.

  • @greatjimboney69 LOST? Gossard and Ament formed Pearl Jam and they've been playing with this band since 1990 :)

  • Andrew Wood, Layne Staley and even Kurt Cobain.

You all come back and save us.

  • Fathers or GRUNGE

  • why andrew why

  • GRUNGE IS NOT DEAD

  • If I could time travel, I would go to the night of this concert and eat a fistful of cubensis.

  • Wood probably incarnated on some badass planet in a distant universe and is entertaining them with music to advanced for our earthling ears.

  • excuse i actually LOVE this and whomever does'nt can f*ck off the rest of us r lovin u andrew R.I.P and THANKS 4 sharing urself with us

  • This was IT! MLB was king. Andrew Wood's fronting was magical! Pearl Jam 10 was good, but the rest sucked. Too bad.

  • 25 people clearly like dick

  • @Comnomnomunist

I'm gonna click dislike JUST to get your # right.

What a shame to lose Andy.

I turn as many peeps as possible on to Mother Love Bone.

  • @shaymcquaid I agree, Mother Love Bone is some super sexcellent music, hence why the fools that thumbs downed the song at the time got my comment above whilst drunk at 4am. :D

  • @Comnomnomunist Citizen Dick?

  • @Comnomnomunist i guess you could say

    *puts on horatio sunglasses*

    they love bone

    YEAAAAAAAAAAaa

  • @TheBob770 Huehuehuehue, *cue The Who*

  • this is awesome

  • this song makes me higher than any fucking drug, and i've done a lot of drugs!!!!

  • the Malfunkshun Andrew Wood Story DVD is set to be released on july 19th

    everybody look out for it

  • @ScreamingTree3000 I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS I was looking at itunes rock charts They have an album that was just released on july 19 called " melodies& Dreams"- Andrew Wood But here is the bad news the sound quality is crappy and andy Doesnt sound very good due to the quality. But When I was Previewing the album I found a good couple of songs, "MY Star" To Praise it's Name" and the people review the album saying they didnt know who he was, weLL thats dumb CUZ IM FUCKING 14 AND KNOW WHO HE WAS! LOL

  • This video should have many more views... People today just like shit like Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga... Thumbs up if you're gonna watch this video every day, so we can beat the number of views of the Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga's videos :)

  • @ALICEINCHAINSMUSE so keen!!! how does this work does it only count your first view when you watch a clip off your computer??

  • @cRaBuLaR I don't know... I hope it count all of our views

  • @ALICEINCHAINSMUSE cant quit watching MLB or AIC...I miss Layne and Andrew so fucking much.

  • @ragepoppa me too :(

  • andrew wood died to early. hes a god!

  • They could have made it big. It's a shame Wood had to die. There truly is no justice in the world, is there?

  • if you didnt know, i'd say this sounds more like an alice in chains precursor than pearl jam

  • @umumgot

they came out same time as alice and pj, and mlb was formed by people from malfunkshun, green river, skin yard, and ten minute warning - all early grunge bands

this does not sound like alice or pj, alice and pj sound like this

  • @xnmxcowboyxnmx

they did not come out at the same time as pearl jam. when mother love bone's lead singer died the band was helped by then soundgarden's singer chris cornell. they started the band temple of the dog, who's notable single was "hunger strike" (I DON MIIINNND STEALIN BREAD, and so on). they later became pearl jam, and cornell went back to soundgarden.

  • @xnmxcowboyxnmx isnt that basically what i said? i said it sounds more like a PRECURSOR to aic than pj, not this sounds like alice in chains, dick

  • At the beginning it reminds me of AIC style of playing in Facelift

  • When I was a kid, my best friend's dad had poster of Mother Love Bone in their bathroom lol.

  • Mark Arm is like Kieth Richards probably gonna open for the main Band playing armagedon. Monkeywrench just dropped a new CD and Mudhoney Has a couple dates next month before summer European tour

  • Mark Arm will live forever ;-)

  • @soundperspectives did Mark Arm die?

  • pearl jam fucking sucks its too bad this guy died he seems like he would have been great

  • Andy.... you were a doll too cute to last I guess. Great times & great music. Going out to the Seattle to clubs in the 80's/90's was a blast! I can feel the energy in all these old video's! Thanks guy's!

  • I realy miss listening to grunge music, this was like top MTV everyday during the mid 90's !

  • RIP Andrew Wood

  • thank you

  • pearl jam is an audio disaster they have like 3 good songs and the rest of them are like that song dirty frank lol

  • " "Grunge..." "

  • is it bad to say i'm glad Andrew wood died because he is nothing compared to Eddie Vedder ?

  • @GRRJayyy yeah it's wrong...I hate Nirvana but they were a big part of the grunge scene...besides wood/cornell/cobain/vedder/staley/arm etc... all sound different...they have a different crunch...you can't compare one to the other...granted we wouldnt have PJ today if Wood didn't pass but still...

  • @blake50785 very true.. nothing beats grunge, but mother love bone still had time to release songs before PJ so it all worked out quite nicely ;)

  • @GRRJayyy Yes it is ...Pretty much go Fuck yourself Asshole. It's just as easy to say You prefer Eddie.I don't have anything against Eddie but i certainly take offense to you dissing Andrew.Have some respect for a young man who contributed greatly to a monster music scene that raged for a decade with pretty much Zero kickback because he literally passed as their album was released.I was here in Seattle then and it was fucking Magic.Grunge took a huge loss with the passing of Andrew. That help?

  • @LutherRayable thats a fair point, i just love eddie vedder too much, he's made himself a servant to music in a way no other man has

  • Im blown away to see NEW Mother Love Bone fans... THATS AWESOME~!

  • @bentleyabc I am a new Mother Love Bone fan. ^.^ It started with Pearl Jam and Nirvana as a little kid, then I got older and looked deeper into the scene's music. There hasn't been a grunge band I've heard that I didn't like.

  • Damn Stone Gossard too!!! :) forgot about that one!

  • RIP Andrew Wood. Your still remembered brother.

  • Grunge evr live.....Search "Sgroya" (;

  • Fuck Pearl Jam! These guys are 20 times better!

  • What ever Mother Love Bone started the whole Seattle scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @739Rangekid soundgarden existed four years before mother love bone tard

  • @739Rangekid

Soundgarden was formed, recording and signed to a label first...but it was Chris Cornell's roomate Andy Wood (then known as Landrew the Love Child) joining the guitarists from the band Green River to form Mother Love Bone that exploded Seattle into the whole grunge phenomenon!

  • @yojimbo2002 respectfully..one little correction.. it was actually 3 bands that formed Mother Love Bone Green River, Malfunkshun, and 10 Minute Warning.

Malfunkshun being Andrews band with his brothers Landrew the Love Child.. THUNDARR and KEVINSTEIN. Andy always believed in the power of 3..thats why I wanted to mention that M.L.B. was formed from 3 bands. :)

  • this song is about the star Sirius...... andrew wood was into some heavy esoteric stuff in case none of you ppl knew that. sirius is known as the "dog star"

  • I believe Andy used to refer to this as love rock.

there now stop the pointless debates.

  • @CCRockit THANK YOU~! Thats what I was going to say... ITS LOVE ROCK PEOPLE~! Not GRUNGE..ALTERNATIVE...or anything else... Its in a category of its own~!

  • @bentleyabc

Kinda like Led Zeppelin or Soundgarden, they're in a genre of their own.

  • @bentleyabc It's grunge... love rock ..LMAO and Soundgraden was grunge too. Nothing wrong with saying that. It's a pacific north west thing.

  • @CCRockit

Andy always talked about introducing the world to "love rock" but he never defined it to anyone but the music speaks for itself.

  • @yojimbo2002

Damn straight...its just simple rock as it always should've been.

  • Nice!

  • it's rock period stop labeling music that's what the store's and the record company's do it dosen't matter what everybody think's it's rock n roll and that's what it as always been meant to be

  • Dont do drugs , the kind that are made of opium or cocoa, they are evil , the kill are best rockstars. Fuckin hard drugs suck!

  • could you imagine the living with andrew wood, and chris cornell when they were roommates.... the amount of talent in that household... WoW!

  • @TxInMyBlood The amount of ego?

  • @TxInMyBlood Chris's wife/manager was living with them also--sadly they were the ones who found Andrew, passed WAY too soon like many of these guys!

  • @jendamoe

You sure you have your timeline straight? Chris and Susan weren't living with Andy when he died, if he ever lived with her at all. He was living with Xana at the Marqueen when he OD'd. She's the one who found him, remember?

  • I'm a Stardog........ That's right!

  • ‎21 years....21 years... since we lost the man of golden words...the stargazer...the half ass monkey boy.....21 years L'Andrew........Andrew Wood 1966-1990....RIP ...Stardog Champion...Love rock awaits you!!

  • R.I.P Andy Wood... 21 years ago, you past away.... WE LOVE YOU!

  • RIP Andy Wood. 21 years ago today.

  • way too good

  • So awesome

  • But out of this tragedy we were treated to Temple of the Dog as a tribute to Andrew Wood.

  • ela re mother love bone!!!!perfection!! R.I.P. Andrew!you and Wendy O. of course!

  • ANDY is GOD

the love rock awaits us all hail Andy
