@69Belina69 Alan should TOTALLY win! Even though Snape is not liked (most of the series), Alan plays him great! He needs to be nominated for Best Male Supporting Actor. Maybe Rupert, too. Daniel needs to be nominated for Best Actor. This year's Oscars need to be known as "The Year of Potter."

GIVE IT ALL THE AWARDS! Seriously, I'm not expecting much. But I will be miffed if DH2 does not get a Best Film nomination and if Alan Rickman isn't nominated for best actor. >.> But even if this doesn't happen it's fine - we fans know how much of a treasure this series is and what a great film DH2 is. That's what's most important. :)

@mieroth So I got my 'Consider' Booklet today that I got on Ebay and I'm fuming!!!!! I'm so mad! They have 3 pictures of Alan as Snape with two nice blurbs BUT then further on in the book they have a page just for Ralph with two quotes from reviews by Lisa Schwarzbaum -EW and Manhola Dargis - NYTimes. Meanwhile, I remembered BOTH those reviewers singled Rickman out with HIGHER praise. It makes me so angry. I went to WB website and sent an e-mail but who knows if it'll get to the right people.

@GrissomLovesSara: Nice effort! And yes, I really hope Alan Rickman is nominated... I would be more disappointed if he isn't nominated than if DH2 isn't nominated... Because although the Oscars are how they are and they might not appreciate a film like DH2 not nominating Alan would be a travesty. Great acting is great acting no matter the "right" type of film...

@mieroth I totally agree! And get this, I had put the book away cause it made me so mad. The next day I picked it up and there is yet ANOTHER page for Fiennes with two more comments ripped right out of reviews in which Alan was also praised. So 2 pages JUST for Fiennes with 5 comments. I'm so mad I had to go to not being mad and just accept it. Neither one will probably get nominated BUT it hurts me as a fan of Snape/Alan that WB didn't allow him his moment to shine in their stupid little book

@GrissomLovesSara I'm mostly mad because they push so many actors for Best Supporting Actor. Coltrane, Thewlis, Oldman, Hurt, ... Those performances are good. But combined they barely had the screentime Rickman had. :/ And while Ralph Fiennes was great as Voldemort, Alan had to play two sides of a character and did it flawlessly. Way more deserving.

@sanderf90 For me, it's not even about screen time per se, but sheer fucking brilliance! But I understand what you mean and I think they're sending a mixed message by doing that (with all the actors). It's like do they want an oscar for a brilliant performance or just cause they have all that British Acting Royalty? I don't know. Sad all those actors didn't have MORE time in the movie (including Alan)

Harry Potter will probably win this year finally and not just small stuff I think they'll take most of it at least but best picture I think it will be among them and it deserves to be and I may say this just cause Im a potter fan but no .... Im a huge movie goer in general I litterally saw every wide release of 2010 in theatres of 2011 in theatres till now (And will see the rest short few thats left)

But honestly Potter is unbeatable then again the power always comes out christmas season
