We made an interactive DVD a number of years ago as an orientation for introductory flights. Never did market it, so we just put it up on YouTube - thought some people might learn from it.
@comneard2 for you it may be boring as hell. but for some people this is verry intressting. cous they LIKE helicopters and maybe wanna LEARN how to fly a heli.
Since when was 'gravity' considered a force on aircraft? I thought they always just used Weight instead of that because although gravity is a force, it is applied and called 'weight'.
You are correct. Weight is the term used when referring to the forces of flight. This is especially important when talking about the effects of acceleration while turning. The load factor or apparent weight increases dramatically in a turn. Gravity is listed as a distracter for the multiple choice question on the DVD.
Ah cheeky sods. Thought it was probably a trap. Still, I wouldn't mark it as wrong if they put it because weight is just mass under gravity and with no gravity there's no weight so the terms here are very similar indeed. The downward force.
Great video....flying a heli seems possible now.

This video lies. Everyone knows helicopters don't fly, they're just so ugly the ground repels them.

gravity is the acceleration on a certain planet, while weight is mass times gravity.
