the 'Viking' in any genre is purely lyrical. Viking Metal / Rock is a lyrical genre. Viking Metal bands span out from across Black Metal, Folk Metal, Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, etc...but because they sing about Nordic gods and tales, that's what puts them in the sub division of Viking.

I don't think it meant this particular song, but rather the album, when it said 'Viking metal, Norway'. Besides viking metal isn't technically a genre, its just black metal that's a bit more janty and melodic and sometimes with folk intruments. Fact that this is about vikings and is by a metal band is enough really :)
