katie, you were definitely the best this year :) you had everything....a gorgeous song that people could really relate to, a graceful and vulnerable performance, and the looks to boot ^^
I loved her performance this year! There was so much emotion and I think alot of people can connect to this song and that's what makes a good performance, etc. I don't think it was an easy decision because all the other soloists were so great as well, lots of competition. whether it was staged or not, she was good you can't deny it.
Katie's song was the best and that is why she won. I am not the hugest fan of her previous song writing ventures but she was really great this year. Love her or hate her she has been successful for a reason.

You and your talent are above them. I am so proud of you and your ability to share your heart through music. The stage is lucky to have you.

I might just pick up spring sing, and when I win, I shall give a valiant clap to the true deservers of the award...my opponents...haha, that ending looked like some shit off of Degrassi
