  • Es sencillamente maravilloso...

  • You have a lovely touch and project profound sadness. I do wish you would not hesitate and stretch out phrases so much, but I'd rather it that way than a straight forward approach. "Don't gilt the lily" my teacher use to say.

  • this Sonata is used as the main theme in the movie Iklimler by Nuri Ceylan

  • Would've preferred it a little fast with WAY less echo (harpsichords didn't sustain notes). However, it was a cool interpretation of the piece. You should really list these personal liberties in the description of your playing.

  • It's like Scarlatti had tea with Satie and caught cooties from him.

  • @smegma23

LOL! Not about your comment, but about your user name. I do hope you know what "smegma" is. LOL!

  • very very nice :)

i like the changing of the colours of your hand.

  • This gets really boring

  • Nevermind, I've found the date from classicalarchives. com :)

  • Hello, I'm trying to find out when was this piece written? Googled but no luck. Anyone knows the date?

  • Wow!!! What a Composer and what a performer. My Heart melted and warm tears trickled down my cheeks of sadness melancholy but also great beauty. I was looking for my holy trio of best "classical" composers of all time. There are so many of them in each richly woven period from Renaissance, to Baroque, to Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods. But now I know for sure in my Heart. My 3 most Cherished composers are Domenico Scarlatti, Johan Sebastian Bach, and Frederik Chopin. Exquisite!

  • I think the Unpleasant Sonata version by Igorrr is best.

  • Memorial do Convento de josé saramago

  • I think the speed is lovely but the rhythm has gone (it basically becomes a romantic piece, not that I dislike that). For comparison, try to get a hold of Colin Tilney's rendition.

  • Çok yaşa Engin Ardıç. Bağımsız aday ol, oyum sana!

  • don't tske it personslly but you sound like a pianist who heard an incorrect version of this and then perfectly copied it and then added so much expression that you practically drowned it.

(Note: this is not an insult ,well at least it is not intended to be)

    (IT IS JUST MY OPINION)

  • Sublime ... This is Beauty

  • This makes me cry :'((( so beautiful!!!

  • I've never heard this played so slowly! A bit of a revelation. Is it too slow? Well, yeah. It's Andante moderato, which probably was a bit faster than this on instruments in Scarlatti's time, though frankly not as fast as Horowitz always took it. This feels more like Adagio. Still, a thoughtful performance.

  • wow this melody is amazing....i love it <3 <3

  • This is a beautiful piece. When I close my eyes while listening to this, it takes me to a lovely faraway land... a dreamy mystical place where one wishes they could live & stay in forever. (: Oh, the magic of music.

  • It is recorded with a Yamaha Stagepiano isn`t it?

  • It's too slow.

  • beatifull,sad,anda emotion,you are a virtuoso,GOD THE LORD bless you.

  • it is too romantic for D. Scarlatti, but it's honest.

  • Touching! Thank you!!

  • I have never heard this before, but enjoyed it immensely. Well done!

  • i'm not saying the faster the better... buuuut i do prefer this played a little faster. other than that i love your interpretation.

  • most peices of this time were supposed to be fast because the instruments in those days simply couldn't sustain the notes, Now with our technology in music improved, Peices like this should be played slower, i think sometimes even in the composers minds they must have wanted it slower, in some cases at least. Well done! =]

  • very interesting tempo, it gives a special atmosphere, you play this sonata wonderful. Horowitz is great too, but I love your interpretation, so particular .

  • This is definitely the best interpretation of this sonata I have heard!

You give every tone due respect without any haste and it sounds wonderful!

Thank you very much for sharing with us your great understanding of Scarlatti.

  • I love scarlatti's sonatas!

  • Really nice! this is the first time I have heard this sonata played, and I am trying to learn it for an exam. Is this the speed it at which it is suppposed to be played?

  • Excellent!!! Fantastic Sonata!!!

  • this is definitely one of the best interpretations of this sonata. some people argue that it has to be played a little faster, but I prefer your version.

  • i agree I get tired of people trying to win a speed contest. A lot of music would sound better slower. That is my biggest pet pieve with Chopin's Nocturnes. People try to play them fast and they are meant to be played slower having a haunting effect.

  • @Noahedwinbeach2 yea thats true, but people nowa days think skill is speed :/

  • @skeleton0578 Well I play for myself and no one else. Heaven is not full of prideful people.

  • @Noahedwinbeach2 thank you! alot of young musicians speed through a lot of pieces that would better emote with a lowering of the tempo.

  • @Noahedwinbeach2 lets give them all love for their speedy efforts so that they may be encouraged to play to your liking.

  • @akinun I agree with You. It's a deep melody, i think to play it faster the melody loses its depth.

  • where can i download sheet music to this for free?? anyone have any idea??

  • God, this is perfect!

  • My goodness, you've turned this sonata into something else. I've never heard it played like this. Wonderful! This is the third time I've listened to it today.

  • @Krestzek ...spoken like a true ignoramus!

  • haunting essence...

  • Bravo !

  • Much slower than the Horowitz version I've grown to love so much...but I know you're very experimental, and I have to say that I'm indeed warming up to this rendition as with everything else you do.

  • I think this sonata should be played a bit slower than Horowitz, maybe not to that extent. My favourite in this sonata is Dubravka Tomsic, I have seen it on Youtube.

  • Unusual! This performance has some kind of sound in the background, what makes it mysterious and improve building the atmosphere of the piece. I would love to gain such an effect...

  • Beautiful!!!

  • And obviously, very well played. I appreciate for the score you furnishes by the link. I haven't had that score yet.

  • Fantastic composition.

  • this piece is georgous! very well played!!

  • first come :)

as usual , play so well
