Ideals such these should be cherished.

Obama is far from being the worst, though his hesitance to end torture (Manning) and close Guantanamo and get out of Afghanistan or even shut things down in Iraq - keep me guessing as to his abilities.

I think it's great that children should sing protest songs. But please tell me what is the point of the massive slaughter of Bobby Darin's original hard-hitting lyrics? It would take very minor changes to update them. David Rothmillar has a lot to answer for this horribly sanitised version. This video was made during the Bush years when few voices were being heard in protest of the slaughter. We travelled to Afghanistan and shot the footage for another project on Islam. But the images of the children so moved me that I wanted to use them somehow, in respect to all children wanting a peaceful world.

So, we gathered non-professional junior high kids experiencing their first time in a recording studio. I did not want gloss, but simply honest voices. If they are out of tune, get over it.

Revisit Darrin's lyrics and see how they are out of touch with the current world situation.
