I saw that movie in 1970 or 1971 in Nairobi(KENYA),..I used to live there for 11 years with my sis and my parents. And every time I see the glimpses from this movie,..and takes me back right away to those innocent times. I also have seen at that time two more Tarzan movies. 'Tarzan's Jungle Rebellion (1967)' again with Ron Ely,..and with my favorite Tarzan - Mike Henry 'Tarzan and the Valley of Gold (1966)'.
Which I can both recommend,..especially /Tarzan and the Valley of Gold (1966)\
This brings back memories!! Never saw it on its first run but the 1980 re-runs in Singapore n I got hooked on the Tv series prompting me to catch up on all of the movies from Johnny Weissmuller to Mike Henry and books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I've been collecting all Tarzan movie releases and am puzzled why the delay in releasing the Ron Ely series on dvds.
There are inevitably problems with authenticity when you shoot a program in Mexico and it's supposed to be Africa. In this show they had the weirdest mix of parrots, monkeys, apes, and humans from about 4 different continents! But still, if you overlook such things, Ron Ely played the character with tremendous athleticism and charm. This has two Tarzan veterans. Woody Strode was in about 3 other Tarzan movies. Jock Mahoney was a villain in "Tarzan the Magnificent" and was Tarzan in two films.
There were really three parts to this story line on the show, not to give it away if someone has not seen it, but after Mahoney's character is killed at the end of this 2 parter, there was a third, screen veteran Ruth Roman appeared as his sister that hires a group of paid killers to kill Tarzan, then she forces a fight between her killers and Tarzan, the third part should have been put in the film also.
i like ron ely too as tarzan , i always watched his tarzan show when i was a kid , could not wait for it to come on friday nights back when tv was great to watch but now all it has is reality shows.
I'm very fond of him too : he is tall, handsome and look very kind ; he wrote books I ordered on the web. Have a look on Doc Savage (very funny) and Cry of the black wolves (brilliant) but Tarzan is my prefered foreign serie.
you're absolutely right. He plays the Tarzan character with a heroic and manly charm, calm and strong, with a depth not seen in the other actors before and after him. I never forgot that Tarzan series and Ron Ely till this day.
Sure is. Mahoney, who started out as a stuntman in Hollywood, became a very subtle and assured actor on screen. He was very good as the most mature screen Tarzan, in two features, but GREAT as the villain in the preceding "Tarzan The Magnificent" (1960 w/ Gordon Scott as Tarzan). I've never seen this one but I love Ron Ely as Tarzan and Mahoney is always cool so it must be fun.

TARZAN'S SILENT BUT DEADLY SILENCE...
Did anyone recognize Nichelle Nichols as the African beauty talking to him? ("Lieutenant Uhura" from the 1966 serial "Star Trek")

Why was Tarzan labeled as the most dangerous animal on earth! DUH? Don't forget Hitler and his worldy crew of murderers.

Do you have episode called "Pride of Assasins". There is a scene where a man on a log is killed by crocodile.
