I have met Conchita on a few different occasions and I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest players I ever had the opportunity to converse with. I think Patty and Conchita have had a history together but I also believe that Patty has had a pretty bad personal life within the years right before this incident...no matter what, the demeanor she showed was very bad for the sport of Tennis and Patty definitely knew better because she, as well as Conchita were veterans on the tour.

Patty is distracted easily sometimes...I remember a match against Sharapova at Roland Garros where she was so annoyed by Sharapova. Sharapova needed everything to win that close match and changing rackets for no reason (crowd booed Sharapova for it) when Schnyder was almost ready to serve clearly did the job (see "related videos")

In another match a few years earlier she lost to Mary Pierce and also the French crowd. Pierce made the final that year.

But today she won against Kim Clijsters!
