Really like the line, "I watch the snowfall/You watch your phone." You've obviously absorbed the old writing adage, "Show don't tell." That's something I would do well to remember, myself. Sure are a lot of things to keep track of in song writing. Sort of the ultimate puzzle. Fun though.
Yes, the ultimate crossword. The lyrics are the words (gotta find just the right one), the demands of the grid are the musical rules, and (best part) you walk away with something more than fishwrap in the end.
Very nice song. You're obviously a master of the art to create a mood or an image of a situation with only a few words. I think, the less words you use, the harder it is to make a good song out of them. And you managed to do that! Wonderful!
Absolutely you should write a song. I've been at it for less than a year and am having the time of my life. Send me the link when it's done. I'd love to see it.
This is amazing, man. Would you mind if I covered it at an open mic? Of course giving you credit. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed this. You've quickly become one of my fav uketubers.
what kinda uku is that?

It's a Jeni-Frank (1940s or 1950s, I think). Ply body but a pretty good sound. Ten bucks at a flea market.

I like it , especially your fingerpickin intro , bravo!

Thank you, mugambismonkey. That's a wonderful compliment -- spoken like a fellow fan of "The Sun Also Rises."
A few words and a sprinkling of Bill's "irony and pity" can work wonders, I find.

This sadly did not appear in my subscriptions box.
Awesome song and I have to say that those clothes are pretty darn sharp.

Thanks, tehjummie.
Yeah, the sub box can miss, or repeat, things at random. And the sub buttons have minds of their own, too. Spooky.

I should try to write a song myself...

Dude, GREAT tune and the lryics are stellar! For some reason I'm tempted to go listen to Phil Collins', "Hello I Must Be Going" album.

I don't know where these tunes come from, but I'm beginning to worry about my hard drive.
Your stuff is well worth waiting however long it takes. It's much more polished than mine.

It's my first finger-pickery type song.
As for the clothes, love playing uke in my patagonia fleece pants (off-screen ), and love YouTube for making it possible.
