    from,

    del-boy.

  • the village people and not gay

  • Gay is Good!

  • San Francisco is SUPER GAY¡¡¡

  • San Francisco is gay! Wow

  • the indian was being extra gay in this video

  • although.... I could done good with not seeing the image at 2:04

  • From a purely musical arrangement standpoint, the Village People's songs were the bomb. Great chords, and excellent style.

  • great song, great video... so who cares what they do in the weehours?!

  • 1:34 waw super souple

  • asi se bailaba en esa epoca, ellos no tienen la culpa

  • I have to sample this and make an sf house anthem!!! I love san francisco!!!!

  • GOOD MUSIC !!!! SEE MY CHANEL IN YOUTUBE !!!!

  • GOOD MUSIC !!!! SE MY CHANEL IN YOUTUBE !!!!

  • OMG I used to dance to this song at the Paradise Garage and the other song I liked by them was 'Fire Island'. Whew.....baby I used to dance my ass off to this song. The 70's was Gay liberation funny how in the 90's under Clinton gays were forced back into the closet. I miss the 70's and early 80's.

  • mad respect 2 the Village People! ..thiz record came out when i started djing in 1977 & trust me, i played tha heck out of it!lol ..well still do")

  • ¡Qué plumero el del indio!

  • that is one sexy, pale Indian!

  • TAKE TO THE WATERS!!!! HAHAHHAA LMAO

  • Definitely Gay ¡¡...

    Greetings from Serbia ¡¡¡

  • "You got me!"

  • Only the lead singer and the indian remained for their future hits, the rest was fired and replaced

  • Was the original cop gay or what?

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup for knowledge to be what's up, you seem rather lacking. No Victor Willis, the original Village People lead singer, is actually straight.

  • @GetMistyLove: Hence the motherfucking question dick face. I just wanted clarification since he had been married to Felicia Rashad at one time. Just answer the question without the smart ass remarks.

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup I think we can all see and read not only who's the "dick face," but who's in fact real angry. Your handle instead ought to be, StupidAssMotherF&$ker-WithoutKnowledgeof Whatsup! Don't go away mad, just go away...

  • @GetMistyLove: The only one who came with anger was you cocksucker.

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup BOY, seems you're a great lover of "dick" and "cock" which is quite telling for your lifestyle. To each his own I always so. But you need Jesus!

  • @GetMistyLove: You are corny and uptight. Are you the original cop?

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup Well, I'd have to first change my sex to become male (didn't Cher daughter just do that). Then, I'd have to become at least 15 years older. Hey, with talk like that, are you the current cop?

  • @GetMistyLove: I truly hope that that was not a joke. I truly do.

  • Of course it matters! Some were gay, some were straight, but they were based on ultra-masculine gay archetypes found in gay bars in the late 70s. The founder got the idea while visiting a gay bar in the Village. They were intended to appeal to a gay audience, and the fact that they crossed over is significant because it is yet another clear example of the impact that gay culture has on straight culture, no matter how much you want to erase that.

  • @gberthenson

yo nigga tryin to act like the village people are a ground breaking moment in gay culture . LMFAO

  • Sorry, nobody want to erase nothing, Gay "culture" is all about sex ...and this has nothing to do with music. Dancing queen from ABBA was "stolen" by the gay community....village people is a boys band from 70's.....being gay or homossexual will be always weird, i do respect the privacy and living of gays but is weird....you cannot discriminate facts.

  • @alexfrag u make good points. someones live style will not matter to anybody sooner than later.but there will always be some that will not like u if your gay, black, jewish, female, old, fat,i like to be around people that open up their mind and open up their heart.you would be surprised that were all not that far apart.

  • @alexfrag EXACTLY!!!

  • @gberthenson I guess straight people should learn some stuff from gay community.

  • @leopoldvs yes

  • @gberthenson thats right!

  • More Facts-

they originally performed as this group concept on american bandstand, but after producer Jacques Morali saw the performance, the models were fired. the leatherman, constuction worker, and cowboy all were from new auditions. See the difference between the first and second LP covers. this was the best produced LP, still having a bit of Philly disco flavor like the same produced group, the richie family. success spoiled their sound a little.

  • Facts-

the cowboy, construction man, and leather man in this video were models. the original cop is here (before costume concept), and the original GI/military man is here (before concept). the man on the far right is Horace Ott, the original co-producer, member and background vocalist. He was only part of the group for this video. he remained in the group in studio sessions only. Yes, that is the original indian.

  • I love the long version. I wish I could hear the long version here.... The long version is electrifying. It really rocks....

  • The beginning sounds a hell of alot like Macho Man.

  • Is it me or can u really see the Indian guy butt 0.o... LOL but i still love this song!!

  • San Franscisco, eternal source of AIDS.

  • Son más machos que muuuchos artistas de ahora eh

  • ONLY 10 songs :O

  • DISCO DISCO

  • Another great song, i can't think of song made by VP that i didn;t like.

  • This is not the entire song! I would love to hear the entire song here....

  • @brutusbro this is the official 7" single version. The version we hear in clubs is a medley from the LP. "In Hollywood" was released as a single also.

  • They are the best ! :D

  • no one ever played the foot bells better than Felipe Rose

  • CISCO DISCO!

  • SAN FRAN CIS CO! :) <3

  • I am not gay, and I think these guys are great. The Village People were a staple at all the discos in the 1970s. The only straight member is the lead singer. He's got a very distinctive voice that gives them their identity. Good stuff. Don't forget "In Hollywood" or "Fire Island." These songs are the best of all, forget YMCA, In The Navy...

  • @redk1994 Indian and the one other guy was the only gays apparently. But hell, who cares. Awesome music they produce!

  • @redk1994 only the cowboy and the Indian were openly gay, though

  • @redk1994 Yes all members were gay except the lead singer here Victor Willis, then in 1979 got replaced by Ray Simpson, who is also straight

  • The lead singer is not gay.

But who cares, love the village people

  • July 8th 2011 In the morning begins SF Gay Pride, this song is a sort of anthem for all that. My biggest mistake was moving from SF 12 years ago. Str8 or Gay SF has a beautiful mix of the most eclectic and hip people of anywhere in the world.

More power to anything that makes homophobic Bigots have an adverse reaction, its thiers to own. In the end, its not going away. All the justification against it is based on ignorance. I hope to someday return home, its where my heart is.

  • I don't know who these guys are but it's not the l cowboy or biker. that became famous. Plus the lead singer wore a police uniform. Maybe this was before the final group was picked??

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! I am comment number 667! XDDD Without me you are 666.

  • Sorry but homosexuals are the BEST dancers, singers and creative people. Just a fact. They are wonderful beautiful enlightened evolved people. The rest of us should HOPE to be like them.

  • @JhonathanFree Oh geez, you make me blush, I'm not that good of a dancer. Thanks for your understanding, you are beautiful.

  • @gayguy666999 Thanks. Peace brother. xo

  • @JhonathanFree Right back at ya!

  • @JhonathanFree As a gay person, I thank you and applaud you for your attitude and your opinion. I wish every straight person on the planet shared your way of thinking because you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT about us! Cheers to you! :-)

  • @Dancer810 Straight people are coming around and things are changing fast. Any evolved person knows we are all equal and love is love no matter the gender. One day ignorance towards gay people will be no more. Just have a great life until then!

  • they are 7 in this video and in the others 6?

  • What problems are they homssexuais? I do not care, I love them. The songs are wonderful, are certainly the best of the 70 clubs. Very good!

  • Very good my people.

  • Lol, backtrack is like in Macho Man xD

  • so thats delicious

  • so gay!!

  • Comment removed

  • is everyone here gay...i imagine so

  • @poobella Everyone here is gay to you? You are here posting a comment, that means you were here too:)

  • oh shit I didnt know they were gay

  • @tondecarton so?

  • @tondecarton You're a Christian.

  • thats fucking...ungay? ...huh uww...

  • These were dancers not musician...real musicians and singers recorded their album they just danced and have fun...and we laughed at them and also had fun..hha

  • WHO GIVES A FUCK IF THEY ARE GAY JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC PLEASE PEOPLE! (^O^)

  • i love this music.....great times!!!!

  • I love how they all have their own dance style. They are SO awesome. Classic and special song. Thanks for posting.

  • We Won!!!

  • LOL when the Native guy dances and his feather hat thing flips over makes me laugh XD

  • OP QUE ESTES HOMENS ESTÃO FAZENDO AI???AFFF

  • I Dislike , Just For The Fact It's Talking Bout SF

  • Only 3 of those guys are the original members...

  • I love the attempt at choreography. I danced better in my high school production of 'Guys and Dolls'. These guys are AWESOME!

  • HOT

  • Just listen to the music¡

  • wait a minute... where did the extra guy come from ?

  • How much does this sound like Macho Man?

  • @Dodge76 Sounds just like it.

  • Music is music. I was a teen when this "came out" and it was fabulous to dance to at the disco!

  • @Kasbahkabaret from san fransisco;)

  • branicevo gej centar srbije!

  • These are the original guys who recorded this song which was their first. Giorgio Moroder saw what a hit this was becoming and so he began looking for the guys he wanted to really form the group. Just listen to the words and it talks about being gay in that time, in San Francisco and then the song goes on to talk of Hollywood and the gay scene there. Wow what a great time this was!!!!

  • This video was before the famous lineup. VP was initially Victor Willis plus whatever models happened to be available.

  • @hughesjr - That's very interesting - I was wondering why I couldn't recognize anyone - not with their clothes on, at least. The Native American and the Army Dude went on to the "famous" lineup, I can see. I guess they put out some man-butt when required. Whatever their sexu, VP were cool for their individual characters - but what makes me laugh is "The Seventh Village Person" - that guy on the far right who just looks like his character is, well, a "Gay Guy."

  • @hughesjr Also Felipe Rose (Native American) is here!

  • did they change construction workers? wasn't the other one beefy-er?

  • Maybe this song should be called "Than Franthithco"! LOL. But seriously, gay or not, the Village People's songs are just undeniably SUPERB.

  • who gives a fuck if they were/are gay? is that relevant? they make iconic music, and arguably the best known track ever is sung by them, so why is it important if they were homosexual?

  • @jackbadman1 Bryan Fischer and Matt Barber care if they're gay. Ever listen to either of them? They make me want to smash my computer to pieces, but apparently 80 million Americans want the death penalty for homosexuals. They peddle this bullshit about some militant homosexual mafia which has no chapters or divisions, no meetings and no members who forces 1st graders into public toilets to have orgies with older men, calling it a "teachable moment." It's all a part of their reading curriculum.

  • @jackbadman1 that's so true, as a heterosexual myself i can honestly say i love all of their tracks, that doesn't make me gay. fav village people song, opinions?

  • @jackbadman1 that's so true, as a heterosexual myself i can honestly say i love all of their tracks, that doesn't make me gay. favourite village people song everyone, opinions?

  • @jjmarsh2003 san francisco, no doubt

  • @jackbadman1 Actually, the leader wasn't gay. He was married twice.

  • @MORKOS621 you never know, it could be a cover up

  • @candygrl122 Could be.

  • @jackbadman1 It was a running joke at my college as to who the first Televangelist dumbfuck would be to accuse the birds that dropped out of the sky on homosexuals and also the dead fish off the coast of California. And the winner was Cindy Jacobs. Now Rich Joyner, Bryan Fischer, Matt Barber and the rest of the lot have joined hands with these fucktards. Apparently all liberals also embrace Islam too.

  • @jackbadman1 Some people are still homophobic, the idea that some one is homosexual terrifies them. Lots of people were homos and were prejudily prosecuted because of this.

Village people were gay except the lead singer.

  • @jackbadman1 because if they were straight they would be shit.

So yeah. thank fuck they're gay

  • These guys made the whole world dance to their fantastic beat and they really were the icons of the late seventies.

It is amazing how their music still touch us even today more than 30 years.

    Great group and great artists

  • @josegdasilva You said it buddy, I still enjoy their great songs. It brings a lot of joy and remind people of simpler times....

  • @nastylefthook1 what a fucking ill-informed douchebag. Try going back to your priests raping children hundreds of years ago LOL

  • @nastylefthook1 AIDS existed well before The Village People were around.

  • @TheIntolerantAtheist So much hate to homos, thats so sad...

  • errrr these guys are the original village people this was the first track they ever released and also this was the first ever 12" single released in the uk so if you dont know what you talking bout pls shut the fck up.oh and yes they was as bent as 9 bob notes but hey back then in the 70s it was about the music and didnt give a shit about gay or not

  • Gay? The Village People? OF COURSE THEY WERE and THANK GOODNESS for them!!!! Great dance music by a funky campy obviously gay bunch of guys. Fabulous!!!! Made me feel great the first time I saw them on TV in 1977. "Doesn't matter that they are gay" well it does to all of us who totally CELEBRATE the fact that they were out, proud and making us dance!!!

  • @Ferociousfeline2002 I like your comment ;) Hahaha

  • Not to break anyone's bubble, but these are not the original Village People.

  • @bobfrmjrsy Well actually the lead singer (Victor), the Native American (Felipe), and the G. I. (Alex) that was not a G.I. here, were on this video. Later they got Randy (cowboy), David (construction guy), and Glenn (biker).

  • i love them but holy good god they were sooooooo gay haha

  • how can i buy this song ?

  • Gay or not gay, doesn't matter: Village people made very good disco music, as this "san francisco" tune.

  • These Lyrics are soo liberating, if only!!

  • Surprise!!!!!! FACT : but the Vilage people were not gay..They portrait an image for the record company and sales. And most resided from New Jersey

  • @victor35120 Actually, the cowboy is. And I think the Native guy is too. But the lead singer isn't.

I'm not gay, but I enjoyed their songs as a kid, and found them more comical than gay.

  • the biggest homofobes is people who doubt there own sexuality deep inside.. !

  • God, I so want to dress up as the Village People for Halloween!

  • Waste your life trying to please people if you want to not me. Life is to short you do the best you can than you die.

  • I like this song

  • i luv it. this is soo cool!! r they still round?

  • @tweeterbeeter Yes, check their official website official village people . com

  • the village people have some great music but funny enough they hits all had unline messages.......ymca came about because of the reports of boys getting molested there.....the navy is about some of the "relationships that take place on the ships", macho man speaks for itself and san francisco is the gayest city in the states.

  • @bushbangalo Well actually Village Poeple was a group for men, and well the group members represent homo-social groups like bikers, sailors, policemen etc..

The songs did have some undertones for the underground society of men.

  • i am straight, married with two teenage sons, grew up listening to disco and the village people, love this song, ymca, macho man and in the navy. HOWEVER, NONE OF THESE GUYS ARE FROM THE ORIGINAL GROUP, these guys are obviously lipsinging, or should i say lipsinc. original group had six members. the lead singer, police officer was first to go. y do I no so much about this group?

  • @tsmpore Well actually when this was filmed Jacques Morali, the creator of the group had to gather real performers after the success of the first album to sing with Victor Willis (lead singer here and original cop). This video had the initial line up, it included Felipe Rose (the Native American) and Alex Briley (G I). Then they replaced the cowboy with Randy Jones, the construction worker with David Hodo and the leatherman with Glenn Hughes when Macho Man was filmed.

  • su msica es buena y bailable aunk tengo dudas sobre q son jazjaja musica es musica joder tios .

  • whatever...

  • Just because Straight Men like playing music that is stereotyped as Gay, people think they are too. Gay actually originally used to mean Happy,Joy,Feeling Good. What the hell is peoples problem with other human beings feeling happy, joy, good. Did not Almighty God originally had serious plans for humanity to feel that way. Is say's so in His Word.

  • @BBQFanNo1

actually only victor willis is straight .. but who cares? this is great music, victor is a great composer and that voice!

  • @BBQFanNo1 Well actually there is nothing wrong with being gay, happy and care free. Village People songs are happy and care free, everyone should have the freedom to express gayness and joy.

  • Actually half of the members many people would be surprised in the Village People are really Straight.

  • This is not Gay. xD

  • Their music are awesome! I have my Corvette top down with Macho Man blasting through the speakers and people look at me. I just smile at them. Hopefully they are smart enough to know it's all about the music.

  • the "it doesn't matter if they are gay" argument overlooks the fact that the gay/straight angle was the only thing that ever made anything the village people did even mildly interesting. the music is painfully bad.

  • @soccerjunkie7 Thats wrong Village People actually made great music that is well known and fun to listen and dance to even after more than 34 years. Most of their hits are in the pop songs for the generations and well known across the world. Some people can not tolerate gayness, and Village People were a plea for tolerance and acceptance that the underground society they represented wished for.

  • When Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage think about liberals this is the image that comes into their minds.

  • @TheIntolerantAtheist True and sad really!!

  • Please America get over it we have been trying to find about Gay so long and I'm over it. Just listen to the music and shut the hell up. Straight people lives or no better then gays you just think so. You don't stay fateful to you partners no more than gay people. To many babies without parents. Please look at you on back yard if you have had sex before marriage you have still sined. I hate to get so deep but in the 70's we just danced we didn't go oh their straight I'm not going to listen .

  • @geraldsurratt Thats so true, in the 70's life was so easy compared to today's world.

  • @geraldsurratt The bigots are dying out, literally. This is their last gasp before we use them as plant food and they know it, which is why they're screaming so loud. Those under 40 years of age are on our side, those under 30 are overwhelmingly on our side, seven states and counting have gay marriage, and only seven years after my State of Massachusetts was the first to legalize it. They've lost, like they did in the sixties when they were trying to stop Blacks from advancing. Fuck em all!

  • @james1200 Kill bigots, kill religion, kill whatever you hate. What's left?....

A crappy, lulzless world. There is a God, and he is laughing at us...

  • @Hitmonchan107 Well sure this God got a big mouth to laugh, then again doesn't he in no need of a mouth to laugh or does he? Is he a he or she? Do she/he exists? Since when and where?

    Lots of questions raised..

  • @gayguy666999 Try answering them. They are your questions after all.

  • @Hitmonchan107 Good thinking, well lets see, as I see it god is just another age old imaginary friend that lots of people take for granted without questioning, in reality he or she does not exist and can not exist.

  • @gayguy666999 If there's no God, then who was phone?

  • @Hitmonchan107 I did not get what you meant my friend, but still I do not believe in a god

  • @gayguy666999 I'm not your friend, and if you can't get what I'm saying, then big whoop.

  • @Hitmonchan107 Well have it your way buddy, say hi ti Hitmonlee for me, just kidding!

  • @geraldsurratt Hey I love your attitude, and yes I was there in those cool 70s, and no it did NOT matter, cuz we were just too busy having fun, and clubbing it. , Cyn

  • geraldsurratt: I hate to get so deep but in the 70's we just danced we didn't go oh their straight I'm not going to listen.

We hate that you have to go so deep and will do it for you so you don't have to, then we will just dance with you if you want to dance with us. Peace out.

  • @geraldsurratt

yeah, and not all the village people are gay anyways...

  • @geraldsurratt Whether or not sex before marriage is "sinful" is a matter of personal opinion. (You spelled "sined".) And it's futile to criticize straight people.

  • @geraldsurratt The best decade. everything was still new. Everything today is a copy.

  • @MrFrankutube I totally agree. The sixties were great, seventies even better! Damn, I'd hate to be a kid today, as these times truly S-U-C-K.
