  • Does anyone know , can you use ground flaxseed?

  • Wait so, the 10 days that you show pics of your hair, you never added anything else (conditioner, leave-in) to it after you put the flax seed oil on your hair the first time?

  • Does any know if you have to use whole flax seeds, or can you use ground flax seeds?

  • What does that oil do?

  • excellent video!

    Thanks so much...

I will be making this soon!

  • Day TWELVE?!! Are you kidding me?! LoL! Most will be happy with 7 day hair!

I gotta get me some flax seeds.. :)

    Jen

  • Does this works if the flax seeds are grounded ? Thanks :)

  • Hi thanks a bunch for the recipe, I made it .. and used it on my hair and it was great, never had such defined curls with any other product but I noticed the white flakes (made my hair look dirty) I see your pics and you dont seem to have any... what do you use and what do u suggest I do ?

  • awww you alot of the flaxseed nutrients by boiling it = (

this is a good idea though I never thought of this...

I was just germinating some flax seeds to eat in my smoothies and realized the oil, so I was looking for something I could use it on.

I was hoping I could make a skin cream seeing that I don't have the hairtype for this video

    but cool idea

  • thanks for sharing! do u still use this???

  • I have read everywhere that flax seeds are toxic when RAW instead. Heating them eliminates the toxicity. i.e., horses eat them cooked.

  • does the flax seed gel flake the hair with white residue. some of the tubers say it flakes up the hair I would like to try it but afraid it will flake up my hair. Any tips and suggestions on how to keep it from flaking Thanks

  • Cool,

    Really appreciate it. Cheers

  • how long before it goes bad? the first batch I made contained some of the oils you had and some tea tree oil. I didn't like the gooeyness so i didnt use it.....for about .....some months, yea. It was fine when i used it though I loved it. I actually didnt even keep it in the fridge.also it started to flake after it was dry is that normal or was it because it was so old?

  • WOW- your definition lasted so long- I HAVE to try this!

  • can i put this on my hair to make it grow faster ?

  • Hi. I love your eye makeup at the beginning of the video. Do you remember what it is?

  • I tried this girls and it has really worked wonders for my hair!!! What makes me even more excited is that it is all natural!!!! If you have 3c hair, In my opinion it works better to keep the hair tame yet flexible with two-strand twists. I tried using it for a wash n' go but I didn't like the texture so much...but I believe it is excellent for styling the hair...

  • Does anyone know if it's ok that I used Flaxseed meal instead of regular flaxseeds. I made this gel, but it smells good enough to eat. Please answer soon!

  • Thank you sisah

  • I was wondering if this can be produced by any other seed? I have access to tons of sesame seed here in Japan! I just can't obtain Flaxseed or linseed. This just seems like the best product for me. I love all the reviews. Are there any substitutions???

  • I really would love to give this video a try! You have convinced me that this will really work for my hair. However, I am living in Japan at the moment and there aren't any Flax Seeds in the entire country! No kidding! They have banned the import of Organic Flaxseeds for whatever reason. I can find Flax seed oil. I was wondering if you have any advice? I have been thinking about mixing Flax seed oil with regular hair gel. Not too sure how that will work. Its expensive here. Help!!!!

  • @blackkinu23 You can use strawberry seed or even pomegranate seed to obtain a gel.

  • @blackkinu23 No!! Very different and flax seed oil is not a gel, The oil causes hair loss in the crown area. I read a post form 2007 with the same loss of hair using the oil. also the pills please do your research. love and GOD bless you.

  • would this work for a fohawk

  • Thank you for your video it was very informative and well put together.

  • the end result looks more like ballistics gel to me...

  • Right now I have milled flaxseed in the cabinet, will that work...or will I need to go boy something else??

  • does it flake or cause da hair to go hard?

  • Your welcome, I know what you mean about drinking the water with the flax seeds, not nice at all lol. I noticed i said "Gar" instead of Jar but i'm sure you understood. My keys runaway from me at times, Flax seed are like that they become gooey when wet but they have excellent health befits and good for curls it seems lol. Take care...Margaret

  • Is the flax seed gel all you used to style your twists? No conditioner? I'm worried about flaking.

  • I don't think you should be boiling flax seed because it becomes toxic when heated.

I know because I eat it everyday on my Raw food diet. Place the flax seed in a gar and fill with water, place the lid on the gar and leave over night. you will find it's a better mixture after straining and separating the seeds from the oil. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes sorry if you feel I have. Take care.... Margaret

  • @NunaFeedTheDucks

Thank you for that tip. I had known about it's toxicity before, but I thought that only applied to ingestion. I think that by allowing the seeds to sit in water, that'll be just fine because I found out by mistake about a year ago, after trying to drink a glass of water and ground flax, that I get a gooey substance (ew lol).

    Thank you again! =)

  • Will it become Gel like when doing it that way??

  • @NunaFeedTheDucks im buying flaxseeds today! I'll try this :)

  • @NunaFeedTheDucks I appreciated this comment so did my own research and this is what I found:

"While flaxseed oil should not be heated because it can easily oxidize, it seems that heat doesn't have the same effect on whole flaxseeds." look up whfoods.org

  • @pmurray0107 Thanks for that! I was afraid of poisoning my hair. That sounds silly, I know.

  • @NunaFeedTheDucks Tell me about the raw food diet. You can inbox me if you want

  • It looks nice do u wrap your hair at night before you go to bed... to keep the curls in

  • Your hair is beautiful and thanks for the info. My question is what do you use at bedtime? Do you tie it up with a scarf or satin cap? It really stayed shiny and stylish for a long time. Thanks

  • Our hair gets dry, not a lot of oil build up its good to shampoo our hair every 2 weeks if sooner it could dry out even more.

  • How long is the flax seed gel good for and can it be stored in the frig?

  • @tdb859 did you find out how long it can be kept? I'm wondering too.

  • Comment removed

  • this is great. thanx

  • Im wondering how to store the gel or does it have to be made fresh everytime you want to use it?

  • I heard adding heat to flaxseed at high temperatures was dangerous because it can be toxic.

  • not sure about that. you can drink it as a tea.

  • what about locks?? how would this effect them??

  • You can use flaxseed on locs too!

  • Nice vid...I'm definitely going to try this once I get these braids out of my head and hopefully I'll have the same results that you did!

  • Let me know how it workds out for you!

  • Were you reapplying the gel at anytime during the 12 days you had the twists in?

  • I reapplied the gel twice in those 12 days. At night I would twist my hair in big sections.

  • Awesome! thanks for adding this vid! I'm gonna try this.

  • Did it work for you?

  • umm so i made it and couldnt get the seeds to strain away. i had to add water n now its not gel..lol.. wa can i do next time?

  • You have to strain it right away, otherwise it will harden up!

  • @TheHairoine hello,if you don't mind me answering your ? it will be sticky and slippery never hard. I just made some 2day it hold the hair great. a little goes far. women in the 40's used this on the pin curls, and the large wave patterns. I did some research.

  • @chicagolowe I was told that I could use the flax seed meal I already had in my fridge and not waste money at this time. I used 6 spoons regular size,2 cups of water. Next batch I'm going to use distill water. olive oil 2 drops and my fav other oils.

  • @toysvoice Re-boil the gooey flaxseeds again in a little water, strain and let it sit. It will eventually set.

  • @toysvoice buy a cheap pair of panty hose and open it over a large measuring cup or small container. pour in the mixture and using tongs squeeze out the gel.

  • How does this work for softening hair. what ever I use my hair eventually gets dry and crunchy by the end of the day. I need some thing to make it softer will this work?

  • You can apply a drop of oil, but the flaxseed it pretty moisturizing.

  • Wow.. 12 days? I have to try this.. Awesome video.

  • I have tried to make this gel a few times but I have never seen it turn it white while it was in the pot

  • Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try it and tell you my end results. :)

  • OOooh I cant wait till March 31st when this 100 day hair challenge is compleet so I can try this, thanks for sharing

  • You should try it out and let me know how it works out for you!
