@TheMillenniumactress Brain is a gauge that is drained by being attacked. If you are attacked too many times in succession and the gauge is drained then you will be stunned for a few seconds. The Heart gauge is basically health.

The original program writers have been contacted about releasing the coding but have refused and have no intention to divulge the information to anyone. So if you want a version that works right and plays as it should, your only real option is to buy a Genesis or whatever version from Sega you prefer to play Primal Rage in all its glory. Or, drive yourself mad with trying to figure out ways to make the moves you want to do work...whichever you prefer.

From my understanding, the reason the blood is censored and the game doesn't work as it does on the platforms it was originally made for...example: Genesis and others from the Sega line...is because there are security protocols in the game's programming that have not been 'decoded' since the original team to create Primal Rage used a type of 'operating system' that was not typically used...kind of like Microsoft to the Lynx OS for computers.

I mean the video of the arcade, I've been looking all over for it but all I can find are the console ports of it. I remember my friend playing this one in the arcade when he would get tired of Mortal Kombat in the mid 90s. When people say arcades were only around in the 80s they're mistaken. I was hanging out in arcades till about 1996 or '97. They're still not THAT old in retrospect.

The Sauron player missed alot of opportunities. Low mid tail swipe connects to his fierce sweep, which you can connect with Sauron's rising headbutt for a solid 25% damage. Sure, you have to buffer the headbutt cause its a Guile Somersault notation, but still.

Sauron has a sweet bread and butter as well. Good to see there are others serious about Primal Rage.

@mrbignerd actually on midway arcade treasures version Sauron can dish easily 40-50% from any attack, for example, a low 1 he can chain a low 4 then cancel it into a 3+4, then releat, then low 1, low 4, low 3+4, headbutt.

@JeiHeirumaru No this is the Xbox version. Although I do not think there is a diference from PS2 and Xbox. They are different from the arcade though! Alot of the moves do not work right or the blood will be censored where it should be gory!

its times like this i can't believe they cancelled the sequel after all they were gonna have a fucking dragon and sabertooth tiger as characters and new stages!! so disappointing but the first one is still as hardcore as ever although to do the speciel moves you'd have to play the arcade game version with the playstation its impossible! you just have to keep mashing buttons until shit happens still a great game no matter what tho

yeah. it was called Rage on Urth. You culd play as Blizzard, Talon, Vertigo, Diablo, or Sauron. You set up an arena and put you and your opponents followers in it. then you put you character on top of this ramp. there are two ramps, on opposite sides of the arena. you and your oponent roll your character down the ramps, knocking down "or eating" the worshippers. there was a point system to. theres a bit more to the game i think that i cant remember. but thats a summary of the game.

the characters are assembled with two small pieces of cardboard. on each piece is a number. you compare the numbers when you roll down the ramp. its kinda like rolling a die. the bigger number wins. but you also get bonus points for the number of people you eat. its rather simple. you do this for a few rounds and finally add up your points to see who won the battle.
