  • Whats the max height you can fly this setup?

  • @donnybrooklads,

As high as you can see it.

  • Is there a way to get more stable videos?

  • @vracan,

I was carrying a 15g cam under a 78g quad in a gusty 5-10 MPH wind. You can't cheat physics. For stable video, one would need to either fly it in calm conditions or use a larger video platform.

  • Hi and thanks for the video's. I just seen one of these at the local hobby shop and want to get one. But if I could ask you a question........How much wind do you think this can fly in and ( I can't find anything about this ) and also I am not a very experienced pilot. Ok I have almost none. I have a Blade mSR and I am not very good with it yet. Would you recommend this for someone w/o much experience?

  • @gbfavre13,

If you're a good pilot, the mQX can handle a 10 MPH wind or better. It has nearly double the power-to-weight, and is far more agile & way faster than an mSR even with an aftermarket long-throw swash. The mQX can hit about 30 MPH in forward flight, and can easily do loops, rolls and flips. With some expo & low rates, it is relatively easy to fly. It is extremely stable and precise, but it won't self-level like the mSR. It goes where you point it, much like a pattern plane.

  • @MrTurboparker

Thanks for the info. I will probably buy one this coming up weekend. I need to fix my mSR for some reason it wont steer. But since I am so new to the heli's I don't know myself what is wrong. If it was a car or truck I wouldn't have a problem. I like the videos you are posting thanks. This really gives me a sense of how these control and fly.

  • how did you attach the key camera to the bottom of the mQX? I want to try recording as well.

  • @piccolo831,

I used Velcro & backed it up with a strip of masking tape.

  • I'm still waiting for the #16s to arrive.

  • That's really cool Joel!! I could see making some really cool indoor videos around the house like that. Chasing the dog... tormenting the wife, etc. LOL! HH owes you a commission because I'll probably pick one of these up soon.

  • @turnerm05,

Thanks! Aught to be even better with a bit less wind. I plan to shoot some on-board footage at our indoor session tonight. Stay tuned! And yes - I think you need one of these! It's sort of like a precision mSR on steroids - but even more fun. And Hyperion already makes a 550 mAh battery for the Blade 120SR that is a direct fit in this bird. :-)

(Horizon - you can send my payment of one UMX Mig 15 any time now!) ;-)

    Joel

  • Cool. I bought an mQX yesterday and will be mounting an 808 #3 (#16 soon) to it, as well.

  • @carlc62,

Thanks! I'm ready to retire my old #3, and have been thinking about getting a #16. How do you like it? How much better is it than the #11?
