@ProjectAlphaDubstep Thanks for the tips, It's been going great my arms and abs were very sore but now I think my body is adapting to my new regime. I didn't know that training barefoot helps but I have been going barefoot for a long time ironically. Training has been going great, and my friend even offered to point me in the right direction of a parkour group.
good, i'm thankful that i could help, and its good that you're breaking in your training routine. i have a group of friends i train with, they push me harder, because i'm always in constant competition with them.
so training with a friend who is equal/slightly better can be great for quick learning, or progression.
i can do the wall climb, but not on high walla, on high walls such as 9-10 ft i can grab on to but not pull myself up as i am only 5ft 7 and 14. what muscles do you use for a wall climb so i can train these mucles?
@Gourmeticainsularis1 Dude, I've seen eleven year olds fly like birds and they did it with style. Start young, mate, and as you grow you'll get so much better it'll be ridiculous. Do strength conditioning like pressups and pullups a lot and you'll be soaring within a couple months max.
Systema is a very wide concept, and is purely a military special ops program, but I´m refering to the lower acrobatics and fall technique parts of it.
Not close to parkour, but it improves flexibility, body awareness and balance, all of those are relevant to parkour aswell, and I´ve incorporated alot of techniques and knowledge from systema into my runs.
@dolippa First of all, thanks, it's nice to find kind and polite people!!! XD I saw your profile, your gas-mask is very cool I have one too, a russian Pbf. Where are you from? :)
All who say a frontflip wont get you anywhere in parkour, think about it twice.
When you try to jump over any bstacle which you can barely clear with some vault kind of jump, you might be able to get it easier when you have a good frontflip down.
That's because, in a frontflip you don't have to jump as high to get your legs over since they rotate around you. That of course can only apply to Obstacle which don't stretch forward too much because you would clearly land on your back on top of them.
im roughly 12 years, and i have an average height for my age. do you know if you should have a certain height to do parkour? would help for future years, as i have a wall and a mini playground to train on. would really help, and should there be a certain height, it would be nice to know what to train on.
when you change up your excercises daily do you change it according to the muscle group you are working? Because I hear that if you do not give your muscles time to rest they will not become as large as they could be...
Well when you train in places that are pretty small and squized up together (which is the best spot to learn easy moves good and also the hard ones) Its very important to be precise because if you arent you'll fall down and get hurt.
Or when you have to run frome someone realy seriously (when its not a game), when u cant stop and think which way you'll go, its very important to be precise.
U dont alwys have spots with wide place to jump on or to grab on to.
hey what is precision jumping for? i mean i know what its for but like where would u be able to use it when it actually comes in handy and more efficient than other choices? i feel like instead of precision jumping i can just run and jump or jump off and step on to the object. please just tell me a situation where precision jumping would come in handy. lol thanks
Precision jumps simply train your ability to land on a specific point. Your training your body's ability to gauge distances and your the precise amount of force in your jump, and control your momentum when you land. Surely you don't have to stop, and do a precision jump while running from someone.
great video! oh yeah, for the wall thing at 7.48, try it with your fingers pointing towards the ground instead of upwards- its soo much easier, and you could almost do it all day :)
Some brilliant techniques there! I had not thought of any of those. I am doing depth jumping at the moment, to improve my leg muscles for speed and jumping. I will definetly try the simmy technique to improve my grip and upper body for the muscle up move. Thanks!
8:20 NINJA WARRIOR! hahaha. Man, you make the jumps between ledges/walls look easy =( i dont even have the courage to do that =X AND i cant even jump THAT far; standing broad jump at <2m =( how to train for this?
Hello, Im 14 and ive been doing parkour for 3 weeks so far. I can do basi stuff like monke, kong vaults, frontflips and good rolls. Could anyone give me a good upper body conditioning tutorial? I need to get better at my cat leaps cuz i cant clipm up when i leap on the wall.
better shoes could work. I've heard Feiyue shoes are pretty grippy, though they look quite easily worn. K swiss ariakes have gone down in price so you could try bagging yourself one of those. Just look out for those that have a large surface area for grip *basically as flat as possible* but try not rely only on those, as this *urban sole* shoes dont grip well on pebble paths or grass, I had that exact problem with ariakes.
i think with his experience he definitely knows the difference between parkour and freerunning i dont know why you would even bother posting a comment like that
a front flip can be parkour if you use it in a certain way. For example if you use a frontflip to aid your co-ordination or to improve your self awareness. It is a technique for improvement just like a climb up or balanced between rails is. Using a frontflip to aid you efficient run is not Parkour as this would go against the Philosophy. Spinny shit on the whole is not very useful however therefore less Parkour like.
there is no way in hell a front flip can improve your parkour skills, only practicing parkour movements and conditioning can improve your parkour skills, flips are not parkour therefore cannot improve your parkour skills
You are so right! Parkour is about getting across ANY environment, not just urban, as quickly as possible and to make that momentum flow, not to start flipping for no given reason.
Freerunning is the freedom of movment and therefore flips are acceptable, to express your emotion to movment!
if u do a frontlip over a wall/fence its parkour, if its to high to jump and its spiky, and the only way to get over is to use a frontflip i would call that parkour
@PKgangzta thats not true, they improve your spacial awareness which helps a lot with confidence and bodily control on bigger movements. and not only that it helps clear away fears people might have. and in very, extremely rare cases a flip can be more efficient than certain movements, I've seen a side flip clear a fence with much less effort that a vault and also i've seen on over a spiked fence so a vault wouldnt have worked anyways, and the side flip made it possible
@PKgangzta well most of these conditioning exercises are repetetive and is not an effective way to move, therefore they are not part of parkour. BUT they can be part of the training, and i think the same applies to flips and such. everytime you move in a new way you learn to know your body better, and that if something is to train parkour.
@mmacritics youre wrong so if i go skydiving and try balancing on a surfboard while freefalling my daring level increases and so does my balance but am i any better at parkour NO....im right and think before you fucking write,I was a practitioner of parkour for 6 years and i quit last june cause it got too mainstream and there's these little wannabee daredevils running around getting hurt, its people like you that don't know what the fuck their talking about that made me quit this discipline, pce
@assailantgamer sorry but i can hardly understand you, and yes i quit because of others, Its the way others "train parkour" that affected the worlds' and my perception of what parkour turned into.. tricking newcomers into buying their merchandise and watching their t.v. shows
@PKgangzta Personally I hate flips ect, but by learning to flip you are learning more ways in which you can control your body. This is not parkour, but flips can certainly be a way of training for parkour.
actually this is not true. While flips themselves cant directly be applied to parkour movements, broken down they can. A flip teaches your brain to coordinate multiple muscle actions/responses at the same time. It also in itself is a form of conditioning if you dont use an over amount of momentum to accomplish moves. To flow from one flip to another teaches reaction time as well as percision upon landing. While flips cant be directly related, they can infact improve other areas of parkour.
Another example would be within a backflip, your muscle memory is programmed slowly to apply 1.set 2.rotation 3.landing. Applying this principle to a jump to cat, you have the set, which requires coordination of the arms and legs to get your height, rotation doesnt apply, however similar to landing a backflip when say coming in contact with a wall, knees are bent and the balls of the feet are used to conteract the impact, arms are retracted to lessen impact force.
If I can say something: you only do climbs up with your right foot upper than your left one from 0:30 to 1:00, maybe you should do it with the left foot up and the right down to have a balance strength?
if u have facebook hteres american parkour and they were not sure if they r still doing the draw or not but if u become a fan u can get k swiss ariake'sa for free and a sweater
hey man, my question is this, when doing these excesses, how long should wait until doing them again? like obviously not everyday, otherwise that would get you nowhere. muscle needs time to heal. so whats a good schedule for conditioning?
Depends, you can do it every day no problem, as long as you vary the exercises. You can also do every other day, it all depends of the intensity of the session.
Usually, u spend 2 days without conditionning muscle u conditionned. Obviously...If you do it in a hard way to improve your capacities. So you can work on your lower body on monday and on your upper body tuesday, then you can have a day of rest and start this again on thursday and friday, then have 2 days without training to let muscle develop. (oh oh, I realize that I really have a bad english xD )
nice video but do you ever bodybuild as well as do Parkour conditioning. If so is it best to do bodyweight exercises, freeweights or machines for Parkour.
I've started already my daily training, I'm on the third day, but for now I'm only doing Conditioning as I quickly found that I need more strength to do the basics :) on the upper body as well the lower body.
I also found myself that I need more balance to my body when I try the jumps, even if they are from a small height. It's incredible... I thought I knew better my body!
It's quite easy to jump that high, I'm 6'1 and i can jump onto stuff standing there well above my chest. I've practiced on bolders and stuff tho and have gotten really good at it. Wish somebody around my area did the same so i'd have somebody to go parkour with.
I wouldn't call it easy...Naturally people have different jumping abilitits due to the balance of fast twitch muscle fibres they have developed through life. However this can be improved useing training of fast powerful movements such as hillsprints and various agiltiy drills.
thats a pretty solid workout you got there mate. i do the same right outside of my home, there is a small wall, but i usually use some gloves to cover my hands. good stuff!
oh, kk. But not the most in our country can say to own a house ;-)
thx for the answer. For me the music interrupt my concentration, so I train everytime without music. But maybe I try it a longer time with music to see if it work better again.
Thx for the workout-vids. I enjoy them all. Nice work. Stay save and healthy. Greets from Germany.
Great video, lots of useful exercises. I also liked the song very much and searched for the name on the internet. Song is called Whispering Wind by Moby.
Good video, I just started training. I just got done with my college career in Track and Field and this seems to be the perfect outlet. Im going to use this vid as some reference. Hey whats the Name of the First Song in this Video?
that wall thing you cant do anywhere lol them stair climbs are bitchen i do them.nice spider pushup/walk.damn that wall walk is bitchen i need to pratice more parkour. that is crazy holding up like that between walls. (im writing while veiwing btw) that thing with the brinks really creative. Depends, you can do it every day no problem, as long as you vary the exercises. You can also do every other day, it all depends of the intensity of the session.
UrbanCurrent 3 years ago
Usually, u spend 2 days without conditionning muscle u conditionned. Obviously...If you do it in a hard way to improve your capacities. So you can work on your lower body on monday and on your upper body tuesday, then you can have a day of rest and start this again on thursday and friday, then have 2 days without training to let muscle develop. (oh oh, I realize that I really have a bad english xD )

acually dude if u do it everyday and then on the fourth week u should just do parkour and streches
chilliwacktraceur 3 years ago
nice video but do you ever bodybuild as well as do Parkour conditioning. If so is it best to do bodyweight exercises, freeweights or machines for Parkour.
warriner52 3 years ago
I do Crossfit and PK Urban conditioning.
UrbanCurrent 3 years ago
I've started already my daily training, I'm on the third day, but for now I'm only doing Conditioning as I quickly found that I need more strength to do the basics :) on the upper body as well the lower body.
I also found myself that I need more balance to my body when I try the jumps, even if they are from a small height. It's incredible... I thought I knew better my body!
By the way, what's the name of the second music?
Thanks for these wonderful vids.

1 question how do u prevent ur hands from getting uterly fucked do u wear gloves sometimes or what?
Krealix 3 years ago
They are not really fcked but they are not longer soft (as my wife says) I do have calluses, and it is part of being a traceur.
UrbanCurrent 3 years ago
It's quite easy to jump that high, I'm 6'1 and i can jump onto stuff standing there well above my chest. I've practiced on bolders and stuff tho and have gotten really good at it. Wish somebody around my area did the same so i'd have somebody to go parkour with.
BioRev 3 years ago
I wouldn't call it easy...Naturally people have different jumping abilitits due to the balance of fast twitch muscle fibres they have developed through life. However this can be improved useing training of fast powerful movements such as hillsprints and various agiltiy drills.

srry but how do you jump so high? how can I jump higher?

for what are the ear phones? Only to have a better ignoorance to other people who talk trash about you?
The vid is very nice. One of the rare videos where you can see what you have tp practice in parkour.
BreakToTheBasic 3 years ago
The ear phone is for music, I really can care less what people say or dont say about me. Thats my house too, so no one can bother me there.
UrbanCurrent 3 years ago
What would you recomend for someone who is slightly overweight and wanting to get into parkour? Is this a great video to immitate for beginners?
Delta14wraith 3 years ago
we got tons of conditioning vids you can watch and try from. You can start from there and progress as you go.
UrbanCurrent 3 years ago

I love how zen parkour is for such an extreme sport. There is a lot of spirituality to it I think.
