  • more like these cameras in the races

  • helmet cam is the best but must get in better

  • f1 2010 has ruined an already shit catalunya for me.

  • terrible sound!

  • guitar distortion effect

  • THIS SHOULD BE THE ONBOARD-CAM OF THE FUTURE !!!!!!!

  • I like this singer..

his name is V10, but it isn't on emule..

  • good lord listen to that V10 !!!!! I miss the old days of F1, just wait till the rules slaughter the engines with 4 cylinders coming in 2013 (bullshit)

  • this is f1 simulator...lol...almost like one

  • @urmo345 no it isn't....

  • try driving around monaco with this kinda vision

  • come on, Berney Eccelstone!

  • alonso es el mejor

    la ostia k miedooo

    xdxd

  • wow before he goes in the pit lane the down shifts are like music do re mee or how ever its spelled

  • they should use this cam in races

  • @ceSniperFactor

They did once for David Coulthard's last race, but he was taken out on lap 1...

  • it wasn´t the same cam mounting. David had it on the bottom right of the helmet and you couldnt see much, this cam seems to be mounted higher and looks much better

  • I guess this is pretty much what the driver sees. The Coulthard cam was much too low, Massa's was too high. This is the "real" view I think.

  • it is unbelievable how they drive an F1 car with this POV. I don't know how they do it.

  • @ceSniperFactor They can't use these camera's on races because it distract the drivers.....And anyway the camera is a bit big inside the helmet and formula 1 want to see a good standard of the camera so they put the camera on the car

  • dang, its a game or nearly like a game

  • that is exactly what alonso would see when he is driving

  • except less shakey

    the brain would stabilise it

  • Yes, much less shaky. I'm always surprised with my karting videos how much head head's bouncing around. This looks quite smooth in comparison! lol

  • @JackDavis16 about being less shaky - it's true up to some point; at higher speeds on bumpy tracks it will shake them so much they will hardly see anything - those are the words of Formula 1 drivers heard on BBC 5 Live F1 commentary (2010)

  • so fast?he's not pushing at all..

  • omg so fast!! 0:21 fantastic start!

  • Alonso eres lo mejor que ha pasado por la Fórmula uno.

  • How can Alonso see anything?

  • alonso has high quality eyes and not some old helmet cameras xP

  • Still, he's so low down though! and so dark! having to press all those buttons, talk to the team, withstand Incredible G-forces, Brake at every corner, Avoid every obstical...Amazing...We should praise all the drivers for simply being able to keep it on the road, let alone drive fast...

  • yeah that's true ... but they are all pro's and that's their job ... and look at 00:42 to 00:48 it's not that dark ...

  • kimi raikkonen the best

  • That is a v10. The sound always gives me goosebumps.

Sorry, I felt I had to say that as I was overjoyed at hearing a formula one v10 engine again.

  • el mejor alonso

  • They see almost nothing if it's cloudy or bad light for some other reason. Like in first two races this year

  • Looking for a fantastic HD helmet camera? Check out our new videos that feature the new ContourHD helmet camera from VholdR.

  • Fer is the most complet driver today. Toma toma tomaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • I love fernando alonso he´s simply the best

  • Heikki Kovalainen :)

  • It's probably better than your spanish, french, italian. All of which Alonso speaks as well as catalan.

  • alonso is the best lol!! GO GO fernando vamos vamos!

  • i don't like your comment is just too gentle.xD

  • Amazing...

  • they used v10

  • Looks fun to Drive

  • The isn't alonso It's Heikki I believe, I saw this clip on a t.v show. search for it on youtube.

  • yeah, the gloves seem different than Alonsos'

  • actually those are alonso's gloves he wears the pumas. the renault team is sponsored by puma so you can't really tell who is driving from this view. but I believe it was heikki and he was on a tv show as tmat56 mentioned. I have seen it also.

  • i cant see the road ahead well~ is it me or the camera qualty mounted above the driver? i was just wondering how they drive so fast and yet they are so close to the road surface as in, its so flat.. how they read the road ahead so fast~ :)

  • Theres a racing technique called "Sighting" So when a driver exits at corner, his eyes fix on his next reference point, usually a Marker board which is about 10 feet in the air. The drivers see plenty really

  • when i play racing games on pc, i usually change view so i can see the whole car and the road ahead very well from high point of view~ F1 racing and superbikes racing are 2 sports i really amazed with~ the view is so low on the ground and yet can go so fast and corner very well~ awesome drivers and riders~ :p

  • stop playing arcade then and start simulating. We don´t allow outside view in our championships.

Use the inside view for pete´s shake!!

  • woah how can he see over that!

  • That camera was above eyes.

  • normally, you see a bit more cause ur eyes would be quit a bit higher :) anyways, good vid

  • No the camera is a bit higher than the eyes, 1 CM, i know that because i did this picture 2 years ago, and go to the video of the Brasil Roadshow and you'll see the same picture.

  • That's Kovalainen

  • Catalunya woooo, excellent camera, they should put that on the drivers during a wet weather race, be superb!!

  • heiki kovalinen

  • clouds look amazing!

  • i cant see the turns n road from the helm cam~ poor drivers~ amazing~

  • You can, those horn winglets are amazing, if you line the kerb up underneath them then you're on the right line

  • these drivers are so good, how can they even see the track from so low down =/

  • v10.....enough said

  • they are v8's

  • nope thats the 2006 car with the v10 engine dude....cant you understand the dirrence between a v10 and v8?

  • but on the other hand its hard to understand that in this video cause he is having a ride not full throtle anyway sweet sound :)

  • ha check your facts for 06

  • they didnt run V-10's in 2006. Idiot.

  • made a mistake. ok?

why the hell you re calling me an idiot? and on my second reply i tried to save it pff...the world is gone bad

  • they used v8s in 06...

  • they should put that camera on every f1 driver in the races

  • thsi is a much better representation of what it's like for the driver..way better than those roll hoop mounted cameras

  • Ecclestone should watch this and talk to the f1 broadcasting teams

  • woww.....very cool! :D . I just watched the catalunya race today *sun april 27th 2008* kimi raikonen won :D

  • troll

  • isn't this Haikki Kovaleinen? theres another video on youtube that shows exact same thing except its in a profile about him.

  • I thought the same...

  • lol, whys that?

  • Now THAT's onboard :D awesome!

  • Its a bit late... Most of the F1 drivers started driving go karts when they were 6 or 7 years old, and by 16 they are driving in real racing cars like formula renault or formula ford or similar. The best advice would be to give up on racing formula cars and go GT racing instead... It is much more possible to have a GT career at an older age.

  • Not quite true. Perry McCarthy started at 20, Tiff Nedell started at 19.

I had a cart and a motorbike at the age of 7 but I didn't have the family funds to race.

I would say try a track day and ask the instructors. The Brands Hatch Racind School may still be going but I'm not sure

  • Also, Damon Hill started racing at the age of 23!

  • All of those drivers started racing almost a decade ago... Times have changed. Also, McCarthy never actually qualified for a race, so its debatable whether one can actually say he raced in F1. Similarly, Tiff only lasted one season in F1. As for Damon Hill (one of my favorite drivers) what factor other than his age would lead Williams to release him when he was the newly crowned world champion?

  • His money deamands.

  • Money is the reason Damon AND Nigel were dropped from the Williams teams.

Also, Perry McCarthy tested for both Williams and Benetton.

As Felipe Massa once said "never give up on your dreams"

  • Games are NOTHING! Go on a track day

  • i agree, start in karts and then get spornsorship and move yourself up the ranks through formula renault, f3, gp2 and then f1!

btw games will only get u a degree of experience. u need to feel what its really like in karts!

  • Its never too late ;) If you got the skills and what it takes to have the stamina you can do but push hard

  • Even a demonstration lap looks quick, every driver should have this for quali + race.

  • ben sarhoşken bile daha iyi kullanırım :)

  • They should put a camera like that on every driver in every race.

    That would be brilliant

  • The helmet they wear in F1 has the absolute silencer, with a reduce of 100dB. I don't think the drivers are worrying about getting deaf

  • good lord!!! i cant imagine how absolutley mental it must be to have those engines wailing away at the back of your head, there isn't an earplug on earth that can keep you from going deaf!! but what a way to lose your hearing eh? :):):)

  • I went to the British GP this year, and they weren't as loud as I thought they'd be. I could stand about 8 metres away from them without ear plugs, but it hurt a bit. Still, having that behind you for 2 hours must be great!

  • They seemed a lot louder than that to me.

  • Nice angle.

Team have to tell the driver if front wing is damaged. U can´t see it by yourself.

  • great video!

  • Thre is nothing to stop them making this a regular TV race camera. Get it done! :D

  • Can the sight really be THIS bad?

  • i think its so bad because half of the camera is in the cockpit and the other is out

  • It is as bad as that really. Since 1996 Williams decided to lower their drivers, recline them further back and raise the feet more to prevent driver cramp, everyone saw this was working and adopted the same idea. You block your own sight by turning the wheel

  • insane!! go alonso!!

  • there is a longer and better quality version of this somewhere.

  • sounds kinda like pole posistion, lol.

  • It was an out lap, and Alonso was cruising. Still, kick ass cam!

  • Next time I'll think it over if I wannabe a F1 driver. :P

  • WOW! there should be more videos like this

  • anymore vids like this?

  • It looks like my PS3, woah!! Insane cam xDD

  • dude your right...the resolution on this vid is crap.

  • they should use this cam in races!!!!!!!!!

  • 205??

  • 2005 yeah

  • He's only running a test lap. It's actually slow. "Wow look how close he comes to the edge of the track." You should also consider how long it takes this man to make a shift; it's like someone depositing pennies at the bank without any rolls.

  • The best Onboard angle, aside from being a little dark.

  • Holy shit, that is fast. Makes nascar drives look like donkeys.

  • this is only a test lap you know that lol he can go so much faster than that

  • i thought that was the fastest he's ever been lol

  • omg this is insane hahahah nice video!!
