@xXItsDevinXx once again ever heard of a rubber mallet? also i guess i am pretty tough, ill just rip those pussy threads off like nothing. you must be a helper still you little bitch. PS I have never dropped a box of core so suck it
wow it's funny to see a different way of doing shit. why wouldn't use use tube stands and do all the work off them so u don't hurt ur back and i agree with gobacktoyoursuburb if u hit my tube with a steel hammer you would be gone or you could just buy me new ones. Oh and atleast have more than 1 core tray there saves time as well. All and all you must have a shit teacher.
@robbiealan100 the way i was working was just fine, you must have the back of a 5 year old. i think you need to jump into a different trade pussy.
ever heard of a rubber mallet?
and as for a shit teacher, i am a driller since october 2010. people have different ways of doing things, do be ignorant and think your way is the only way. you sound like a really annoying piece of shit to work with, peace.
a lot of neg. comments from the aussies... they must be jealous or something...I've worked with a bunch of them over the years and I'll tell ya one thing...most of them are SOFT and can always find an excuse not to drill...they usually brag about themselves and can not back up anything, keep doing what ur doing, listen to the driller and you'll be the one laughing.
cause we dont need them we drill more hole than any other country in the world we live on mining you dumb fuck so shut up and watch and learn maybe you will be as good as us some day
so.. im going to be out of school pretty quick, my dad works in bc and he said he could get me a job as a helper pretty easily. problem is, im kinda small, not really weak or anything, just small. would this job be suitable for me? he thinks i should start at a smaller drill to get the idea of whats goin on. is this all you really do as a helper?
@BeerRunner420 Ok cool... what kind of anchor was it? Did you drill some casing in or is it something you turn in by hand or like a concrete block buried... sorry to be a pain :)
@cizonky u can anchor the drill a few different ways. Easiest way is to drill a hole, usually 4-6 ft (if in bedrock), pull barrel out, get an old or NFG rod and "burn it in" hole, presto you got an anchor sticking out the ground. Another way is close to the same, drill a hole 4-6ft deep (if you can get away with it), then instead of burning in a rod, a split/set anchor is installed, tightened up/set and securely fastened to an anchor plate on the drill skid/frame. Skidder or cat.
I always love listening to the hotshot drillers and thier advice on how to do things faster. The sad part is most of them are what I call hack drillers who usually wreck sh*t . eternalzero is right who cares how long he takes as long as he is ready when the time comes. If you micro manage people like that you probably go through alot of helpers....
that is a shit house site, you wouldnt even be allowed to work on that dodgy site over here. didnt even see you grease that back end or set your landing indicator
@marilynstclair It depends on a number of things, how big your tubes are, if you get a full tube of core, how dense the core is etc...the job I'm working on now the tubes range from seventy five to eighty depending on core
@michchristina as long as he's done his duties and is ready to throw that tube down the hole by the time the next run is done, who cares how long it takes him? I'm a driller and I don't honestly care how long my helper takes to do a tube, as long as he's ready for the next run by the time im blocked or finished my 10 footer.
I own my own drilling company and don`t have an offsider. Do it all my self. Sometimes offsiders slow you down and arent worth the money. I run rods on a roller on rail guide system...offsider not required! Plus no more complaining and damaged gear...you would of damaged the bloody tube too mate! Then the driller gets the blame for core loss and the offsider gets the poos cause you have to do shorter runs etc...all because he`s too lazy to retrieve the core the right way...
ohh my god are you serious. waht shit hole farmer bunch of wank company is this youwork for?? FUCK mining outside of australia must be shit as. what a joke, what time do you milk the cows at??? EASILY THE MOST PREHISTORIC DRILL PAD IVE EVER WITNESSED
There's a new facebook site for diamond drilling! Check it out and join up - we can use some more folks on it...not too many drillers out here! Helpers welcome too!
Northwestern Ontario Diamond Drilling Association on Facebook!
@BeerRunner420 hahaha your an idiot timely fashion... what a joke lol come work on my rig you would be in for a rude awakening... keep practicing kiddo
@alvaresplayer To each their own. I prefer to do it like that and it don't bother me any. Use a strap with a half hitch or whatever on the tube and it actually works pretty damn good.
From one helper to another (don't know your company's policy on this or whatever) but linseed soap on a small section of burlap does wonders when emptying the tubes; be it blocky or loose, the stuff just slides.. but on the other hand, its gotta suck emptying outside like that though, but then again if on a fly job you gotta make due, eh? Good stuff overall.
@nofxer i was adding linseed where the camara couldnt see minus the burlap. this set up was the best cabo had to offer for helpers at this project, but good thing i dont have to empty tubes anymore.
Just applied as a helper for kluane drilling ltd. good choice? Hope I get the job.

how do you anchor the drill in place, or is the weight of the rig sufficient to keep it from moving around?
cizonky 5 months ago
@cizonky There was an anchor in the ground keeping it in place.
