Literally EVERY person I have asked here in the South of England is keen on Scottish independence. We want freedom from Scottish rule. Every poll has shown that more English want Scottish independence than Scottish do.

The only thing it has in common with English is it shares a common Germanic descended line of Languages And the Scots-Gaelic language has a more ancient Celt relation (even older than the Germanic English) plus ancient Pictish was suplanted into Scots-Gaelic which in turn influenced Scots.
'Scots' and 'English' are just as different as 'Norweigian' and 'Swedish' is.

I'm all for an independent Scotland, but not while the SNP get so much money from dodgy far-right christian groups who are anti-gay, anti-jewish and anti-evolution.
If Brian Souter wants to run the country he should stand for office, not just finance his way to power like a Scots Murdoch.
As it stands right now, a vote for the SNP would be a vote for their financial backers and that is something I find wholly unacceptable.
An independent Scotland should be INDEPENDENT not ruled by Brian Souter

Personally I don't have much interest in Scottish independence either way, as there are more pressing social and economic issues to worry about, locally and globally. But I'm afraid it's people like you who help the more vitriolic nationalists by making English people look like ignorant idiots. If you're going to comment on Scottish politics, first maybe learn a little bit about it.

Maybe you're also aware that despite low support for nationalism among the population (and even less in the media) the SNP are governing Scotland. because they have probably correctly been seen by the electorate as the alternative to New Labour, a warmongering party that has long forgotten about social justice

@ChicDhu the rest of Europe isn't anglo/celtic like us and the rest of europe has not fought side by side with us for the past 3 centuries. We are an island off the west coast of europe. Not at its core which is a crucial point that ireland missed, while leaping head first into the arms of the EU. Only now has Ireland realised that the sweet talking EU politicians were only sweet to them just to get Ireland to vote in favour of the lisbon treaty. Now they plunge Ireland into unpayable debt

Would you rather live next door to the Smiths from Kensington? Or the pakistan family that can't speak English with their 6 kids on the dole as they strain the NHS and harbour a religion that looks down on our very society?
