what the hell does this commercial have anything to do with global warming? I guess its for people like me that can appreciate a drive when you're the only car on the road. Time to think and enjoy just the sound of the engine.

The facts at the moment are that Global Warming is definitely happening, it is partly natural and partly down to man. There is conclusive proof for this. What is unknown at the moment is how much of Global Warming is down to man, and how much is down to the Natural Changes, just because it is natural does not mean Global Warming is a good thing.
Climate Change is happening, but it has been happening for 4bln years. Is it antropogenic? Not proven...by a long way. We need to prepare for it, not imprison people in a backward leap via taxes and authoritarian control.

For the record I don't even own a car, so I'm not sure why you think that insult applies to me. The music and poetry are great; I just happen to disagree with the message the advert puts across.
I suggest you investigate "dust to dust" costs. A VW is a tough, robust and reliable machine. Seeing as 70-80% of all energy a vehicle consumes is used in MANUFACTURE, cars like VW and MB are not as bad as the sandalistas like to make out.
If you want to really cut down on fossil fuel use, support FUSION POWER and be done with it.
This advert irritates the life out of me. How about going for a walk, hmmm? Or a bike ride? The last thing this society needs is to be encouraged to get in their cars and drive around aimlessly. Really. *rolls eyes*
