It's a pity that nothing was done to make the trains more appealing. They look too bland in my opinion. This is due to the sliding doors (rather than plug as are common now) and the lack of colour. A corporate colour scheme would make things more attractive.

However, I do appreciate that sometimes things are good when kept simple.

Actually the color of the newer cars (like the one shown in this video) that I don't like. These 3 year old cars have a cold ashy blue tint on the inside, not very welcoming.

Also the automated pre-recorded announcements are convenient but then when you're on a long nonstop run (say 96 to 110th street), they make you listen to as many public service announcements as they can cram in.

Septas (Philadelphia) new M4 cars (now close to 10 years old) that run on the MFL line also make that sound. Its just the new traction technology.... Sounds alot better than the motors and gears on the pre war cars that were prevalent both in NYC and Philly.
