@KiloByte69 They were wrestling in the mud before they came on, and decided to just go on covered in it. It was nothing planned, but certainly added to the performance xD
@jackanthem90 For fucks sake! How many broken little children are there out there? I seem to be a stalker magnet. Jack, Supersonic, and any future stalkers: LEAVE ME ALONE. I don't know you, don't want to, and hope you have a nice long theapy filled life. Now get! Or I'll turn the damn dogs on you.
@hippotoast Descriptive, literate, and imaginative. Not sure why you feel so strongly though. Did I happen to sire you? Or possibly entertain your sister one night? Surely I've sone something to trigger such emotion.
@dayradio65 Nope you can sleep with my non existent sister all you like, I'm more concerned with your trite pronouncements about voices screaming in your head. It's insincere, frivolous and just outright queer.
@supersonicmat12 Listen, I'm sorry that daddy didn't hold you right and uncle Pete touched you funny. But I don't know you and have never done anything to deserve having to know you. So go back to your video games and jerking it a little too much when your cousin comes over and leave me alone. Turd.
@tornoutlaw2 Well I recently got a hold of an uncensored interview from England and Trent said hes used drugs his entire music career (up to that point anyway) to help him deal with the pain some songs cause him. Its just my take on the song not a definition. Ive gone through drug addiction myself and thats always what this song reminds me of, i mean listen to the lyrics? No one knows what his songs mean because he doesn't talk about there meanings specifically so fans can better relate to them

Its a shame that Trent is sometimes so poor live. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge NIN fan and the band is brilliant. I've always loved the difference between the songs on album and the songs live but there are times when Trent just doesn't turn up. He does have that singer habit of the 'guide vocal', anyone who has been in a band will know what I'm talking about. I'm not doubting his passion and as a frontman he is, at times, stunning. Its just that sometimes he leaves his voice at home.
@conansdog actually Trent admitted that he and the rest of his band weren't happy about this performance. But I think it's a rarities, I saw tons of NIN live show and i think that Trent's voice, and the performance, are way way better than the studio version. I also saw them live in 2009 and the show was fantastic as was fantastic Tren's voice live. I think that this isn't one of his best performance, but it's an exception and a very rare one.
@KessonD Yeah I've seen quite a few myself and when Trent is on his game he is absolutely storming and I certainly agree that the live stuff with a proper band for me is mostly better than the albums but I don't really think we can say that Trent is a great singer, not really, not if we're really honest with ourselves. Vocalist yes, one of the best. Charismatic, yes. Great frontman, yes. Songwriter, yes. A stageshow and settings manager, without a doubt. Singer, not so much.
@jfullerw Ohh I don't know. I've known and played with more than a few vocalists who have managed to sing pretty well on a nightly basis. And as for planning shows I think would be more likely to plan gigs around the huge smack habit than anything else. This obviously doesn't apply now as he is clean. That's probably the last album wasn't very good.
The lyrics in this song are about drug addiction, like many of his songs. But these lyrics are particularly deep and insightful. They refer to his past and present life as if they were two extreme opposites. "something i can never have", he could never be the way he was before the addiction. Trent is a true genius in song-writing not to mention the awesome music we comes up with.
Sick dude!!!

@conansdog Its almost impossible to have really consistant vocals, and it is impossible to plan shows around good vocal days.
