thefishfrog, the flowerhorn was female, and it died like 2 or 3 years ago :( she was about 14yrs old when she passed.

tdpit, i used to have 4 aros, eventually one jumped out some how and i had 3 for a few years. just recently i had a 2.5footer just die randomly. left with a pair, and they never looked happier. maybe they planned it that way? who knows lol

amazing tank actually this is the first tank besides in aquariums where I see arowanas happy just add some flint wood or pebble and some real live plants and a backdrop and some floating plants and some small twigs from the bottom. Just do a little research on arowana care and dont over stock your tank with fish not staff.

I actually have a lot of driftwood in it now. live plants would get eaten for sure. they tear up fake plants all day. I've been keeping aros for more then 10yrs. this video is olddd and all the fish are more then 4yrs old now and bigger. thanks tho, I'd prolly have to say I'm one of the more advanced arp keepers then most out there. 14yrs of experience and counting

...these are silver aros(obviously) they come from the amazon basin so easy guess flooded forest , actually silver aros from where they live (amozon basin) there arent many live plants under there and the water is murkey so Driftwood is the best option.

the big angel looking one is my giant gourami, then theres 3 silver aros, 2 spotted gars, 1 red tail catfish, 1 tiger shovel nose catfish, 1 buttikofferi, 1 oscar, 1 temensis peacock bass, 1 pacu and i think thats it lol

i got lucky on the tank n found it on craiglist of course

filtration is custom. two 18gal containers filled with bioballs, dripping into a 100gal tank. 2200gph pump feeds it back into the tank. two 300watt heaters and four t-8 lights lighting it up. a lot has changed in this setup. the aros are all over 28 inches now as this video is almost 2yrs old now. if anyones interested i can get a new video up

i do water changes about once every other month or so.

the gator later passed away. the other gar in this video passed away just a few days ago :( RIP big guy. my big silver aro roasted it and i saw the aftermath of the aro swimming around with a 2ft gar sticking out his mouth.

the flowerhorn was over 8 years old. it died just a few months ago, RIP

Shouldn't need to take fish out.

Your never supposed to clean the tank out completely it will kill your fish when you put them back in. they like the bacteria in the water. Take out 1/3 of the water every 3-5 weeks

It probably died because it wasn't used to the water. That's how my australian arowana died. So the best way is just like buying it new, put it in a plastic bag, and wait maybe half an hour for it to get used to the new water in the new tank.
