  • man i usually don't listen 2 metal but this rocks man great post man thanks

  • this just proves the versatillity of johns playing and his talents...as a proffesional guitarist doing this as your career choice it would not be a bad idea to extend your range and your interest....its what keeps the pay checks coming in....man this guy is good

  • well shucks maw n paw time for me to hang the ol boots up in the woodshed

    this guy owns

  • If you type in John5 and Fender Custom Shop - at the end of the clip you will see him play it

  • junior brown is pretty nice too

  • get your partner round and round until one of you vommits from listening to the amazing guitar sweeps!

  • that was magic

  • i've heard of this john5 dude;now i know he's realy good

  • what you mean the actual song this is just john 5's version the actual song is hank garland

  • @gochi7 You don't say, really man thanks for pointing that out..i had no possible idea..once again thankyou

  • @gochi7 I though the original was from Jr. Brown? Or did he just cover it like J5?

  • this song makes me wanna buy a fender john 5 telecaster and jam out some heaver bluegrass licks.

  • Fantastic!

  • I don't think Hank done it this-a-way

  • @DKMurphys77 Yeah--I already love Mason, Gatton, Reed and Gill...all are (were in Reed's and Gatton's case) great guitarists and Gill is also a fantastic mandolinist. I don't believe I've ever listened to Roth or Brown though so I'll have to look them up. As for Stuart, I have heard some of his work, but not a lot.

Steve Wariner, Albert Lee, Redd Volkaert, Johnny Hiland and, of course, Chet Atkins, are all fantastic country guitarists as well!

  • I''m maybe gunna make a video of how to play the main little riff

  • Grass metal = AWESOME!

  • Hank Garland song

  • lol im freakin in love with country and bluegrass right now =P

  • John 5 is my favourite guitarist hands down!!!! This song is the shit!!!!

  • to think i hated anything remotely country now i can't get enough of this stuff

  • lerxt42: If you want to get into some real country guitar work (nothing against John 5 since he can play some great country stuff, but he usually mixes it with metal), you should check out Brad Paisley. His 2008 album PLAY would ease you into it quite nicely, since there are also rock, blues and jazz instrumentals on that album.

With having said that, John 5 is one of the best guitarists out there that I know of right now!

  • i have memorised this song be memory ...not the notes but by how it sounds...u kno .... i mean john 5 is the SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this song is AWSOME!!!

  • .....dont you usually memorize things with your memory? XD

  • hehe yeah XP

  • FiGhTtheSong, how did you manage to do that? Please tell!! What guitar do you play guitar?

  • @coltsuperocean10 umm ..... ive listend to the song so much ive memorised this song and play it by ear !!^^ .......unfortunley i only play my not so fancey but relyable peavey raptor guitar !! ...( i think thats what you asked )

  • This song is pure WIN lol

  • UG FTW!

  • ME TOO :D !!!

  • why does it sound like a heavy metal ho down?

  • thats because thats exactly what it is :D

  • i refer to it as Metalgrass XD

  • metal grass is no good....ya cant smoke that....

  • jezelljr: I prefer to call John 5 a guitarist whose style is somewhere in the middle of Steve Vai and Brad Paisley. Of course, heavy metal ho down is a great way to say it as well!

  • i saw him play this live it was awsome and he only used a delay pedal

  • around 2:03? it sounds like a depressed dive bomb back to zero then 2 full divebomb's to me, and you can do it w/ harmonics, if you dont have crazy pedals

  • i think he nicked bits of the junior brown version, check it out.

  • guy looks weird but im diggin this version ;)

  • soo does anyone kno that weird sound he does around like 2:07ish????

    I NEED GUIDANCE!!!

  • That's a wammy-bar being raised upwards rather than pushed downwards combined with a wah-pedal.

  • much thanks, i'll try it out later

  • if you try to raise the whammy bar up on a strat style bridge, will you break it? it feels like the bridgell just snap.

  • It shouldn't. The strings'll snap before that happens, but as long as you're turned standard you shouldn't have to worry about that, either. The only other thing that comes to mind is that the neck will break, but that's only if it's made of very inferior wood, in which case they would have no place making a guitar out of such wood... Or very old wood that has deteorated over time...

  • mkay, thanks

  • Also sounds like it migth be a delay pedal and he is adjusting the delay time knob as he is playing

  • pretty sure fr33zeblink is right, except that the wah-pedal is most likely a Digitech Whammy. It's technically a wah, but it's also so much more than that. I think they've stopped manufacturing em though, so you may have to look for a used one.

  • nothin like hot country metal... makes me wanna ride my cousin :D yeehaw!

  • gross lol

  • i dont think john has ever claimed to be hank garland :P

  • besides the fact that it's in G?

  • Hes better then you will ever be so quit your complaining and shut the fuck up.

  • the songs actually in g :P

  • A great cover/version of Hank Garland's classic!

  • yup thanx for anyone who have upload this song,, pretty catchy song for instrumental music! haha,,love john 5 country metal feel!

  • yay someone finally uploaded this song :D

  • :DD
