  • Serious advice, not trying to be mean or anything.

Give that kid a break from karate, and put him in alexander technique / yoga / pilates. Is posture is all messed up, and it's only to get more messed up as he continues training like that. In the long term not only will this prevent his technique from improving, it can have really bad physical consequences.

  • Well done. Keep looking, Shuri-te kata are riddled with other styles, especially judo and ju-jitsu.

  • Thinking of classical kata like karate battles against karateka is like kissing your sister. It's just not done. This is the way it was supposed to be. Nicely done. Thanks.

  • I honestly believe that if someone where to create a system that blended Karate and Judo together they would have an amazing martial art on their hands LOL.

  • A little talkative in the beginning, but this is some great karate! The older I get, the more research I do, the more I'm finding grappling in traditional karate and kung fu sets.

I really like this application. Very practical.

  • Do u no karate or somethink

  • Nice video and i like your application but they way i learned my Basai Dai from sensei Okazaki look quite diffrent from yours.

  • Very good, never seen that, I like it, it fits the movement like a glove.........Thanks

  • I like the application very much. A clear example of how striking movement and grappling movement share the same kinaesthetic principles. A lot of grappling bunkai seem quite forced, where here it is natural and quite convincing. Well done.

  • Thanks Dan,

I value your opinion and regard it highly

  • very cool. I love it when you see the explanation of a kata and its like a light bulb switching on "ooohhh so THATS what thats for!" haha

  • Interesting Bunkai

  • Nice melding of judo and karate there. One thing about your sode tsurikomigoshi; you need to throw your hip in more as you pull upwards with the high hand to get more leverage.

  • Thanks for the imput. My knowledge of judo is sorely limited. Have a great night.

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks Ice

  • very nice interpretation...this proves that bunkai is ever evolving
