  • ...cried.

  • 10 people just can't understand music .__.

  • Es hermoso!!!!

  • I'm sure this is on god's iPod.

  • better then the titanic

  • One of the best movie ever made ... the 165 minute version! Not the 120!

  • I don't know about reading into this like life, but music is simply music. There actually is no such thing as a "messed up" chord... only what we personally find unappealing. This song, however, is just characterized by that amazing and simple sound and I think it sounds beautiful.

  • Just heard this in Seven Pounds as well. Two of my favorite movies have one of the best compositions ever in them, I think that says something.

  • Most amazing song ever i love it listen to it daily

  • Most Awesomeeeeee piece in the history of music...and just four notes...so subtle and so toching at the same time...Blisss ;) Love it!!!

  • I learned to play this song via guitar tab and it is just beautiful. Although it is not as nearly close to the piano, i enjoy the song very much. Thank you Ennio.

  • @MrCurly956

I so agree. Made me cry when watching that movie

  • Imperfections make us perfect in this vast universe

  • i love you Ennio!!

  • I love this song. It reminds me of the way I feel when I hear Clair de Lune. This song is much simpler, but is perfect because of its simplicity. They both make me think that there is true beauty in music that sometimes just jumps out and grabs your heart.

  • I really love this song and liked both movies it was used in. I wish in the legend of 1900 they would have found a way to end it differently but I loved that move nonetheless. Ennio Morricone Bravo!

  • esta movie, es una gran obra!!

  • I hate how he refuses to get off the ship at the end and dies

  • "9 people that don't like this song..." are 9 people. Get over it

  • 9 people don't know what music is

  • Beautiful song

  • -_- this song. i love!

  • This piece wouldnt be the same without the chromed note... stunning

  • for no reasons, it brings tears

  • the ending bothers me so much

  • muito linda ....

  • I have not seen this movie but I have heard this (or something very similar) on another soundtrack... It is driving me nuts!!

  • @StearmanR985 its seven pounds you here the song yes another great film it is

  • Touchingly discordant.

I am so grateful to have found the music, will try and find the film.

  • so simple yet so beautiful

    the tiniest touch changes everything

  • Magnifique ! très emouvant, j'en ai des frissons à chaque fois que j'écoute cette compo..... Merci MR Morricone <3

  • @blackeyedpanthere1 im not sure what you just called me but fu q. jk jk hahaha i just see the morricone so im going to agree with whatever you said

  • @isaiahwillis95

be correct with me man, I just said that I liked ennio. I did not speak to you

  • I think the odd note is in there because the song represents life, and although life is near perfect, there are a few imperfections in us all, and we should address them :)

  • @BIGnZANYproductions i completely agree with you

  • @BIGnZANYproductions very thoughtful comment

  • @BIGnZANYproductions We shouldn't necessarily adress them, rather more embrace them. Perfection doesn't exist without imperfection.

  • @BIGnZANYproductions Beautiful insight. =')

  • @BIGnZANYproductions could not say it better !!! great comment

  • @BIGnZANYproductions exactly. The stumbling too

  • @BIGnZANYproductions wouldn't think much of this song if that note weren't there. and I think the same, as do most i feel

  • There's something about that little accidental, yet not accidental, third note in the melody, it messes me up

  • @CQBguy234 its not an accidental actually, and its surely not an accident haha. Its a chromed note, and I assume he wanted that quivering note in there to really add a lot more depth to the music since its relatively simple all together. but thats just one point of view.

  • i just came back from the hospital becuse i dehydrated from crying so much when i listened to this song

  • the nine people that disliked this vid are spawns of satan... btw this is the sadest song i ever heard

  • anytime i hear his song it makes me wanna cry... ):

  • anytime i hear this song it makes wanna cry... ):

  • intense.

  • cant get tired of hearing this

  • first to comment on such an amazing song???

  • sono appena andato a verona x assistere al suo concerto e hanno fatto proprio quest pezzo! è MERAVIGLIOSO!!

  • love it !...its so0 beautiful and it always brings me to tears when i hear it

  • This would have been a great score if it wasn't for that HORRIBLE out of tune chord/ note!! <xO

  • @lionhard77 Then it wouldn't be so original...and so beautifull

  • @lionhard77 its on purpose douchebag. its called dissonance.

  • @lionhard77 the song wouldn't be the same without it. that "messed up" chord is what makes this song what it is. beautiful

  • @MouseDude20 I totally agree with you.

  • @lionhard77 /facepalm.

  • that "wrong" accord just irritate me.

  • @TheVodKanockers its the main thing that makes this a masterpiece

  • such an amazing, sad song

  • LOOK AT YOUR BROTHER AND HOW THE SUFFER, TO EXIST IS TO SUFFER SAYS SIDDARTA GAUTAMA... BECAUSE WITH OUT SURPASSING THE CRISIS WE DO NOT EVOLVED. PAZ AND MAKE A DIFERENCE AND FORGET THE MARGENS THOU THEY NOT EXIST.

  • lovely song was in 7 pounds very touching that movie was brilliant will was great its life changing and makes you think

  • Esta es una pieza de las mas bellas, porque plasma el sentimiento de un adios a la vida de un ser irremplazable. La Amistad.

  • what a piece what a movie! there is even in Seven Pounds, other good film

  • wonderful song!

  • probably th best story for a movie ever. period.

  • I listened to this song when I was thinking about suicide, and it made me somewhat sad, but also a little hopeful at the same time

  • thank you for mentioning the movie, The Legend of 1900. I'd never heard of it and watched it based upon what HughHue said below. What a great movie! Storytelling at its absolute best! ;-) Gracie

  • such a beautiful song.

  • Te amo Ennio Morricone

  • Ennio..............sei eterno. sei meraviglioso. grazie di esistere......e grazie per le meraviglie che ci doni.

  • oh man i forgot about this movie...its brilliant. didn't realize ennio did the music.

  • So much tension in this song, and no true resolve. Absolute beauty in realism, as it is with us humans: our conditional pain in the overwhelming midst of natural beauty, an erratic, inconsistent, and jaggedly halting thing.

One of the very few implementations of accidentals and clusters that, in my aural opinion, has worked.

  • When I listen to this song it makes me remember all those things I lost and those things I did bad. And how I wanted to just take it back, and make life worth living.

I love this song so badly. It makes me cry, but I usually don't cry in songs like these.

    Because this one was special.

  • this is my favorite song ever, it speaks to my heart in way that i cannot describe. there arent many things that make me feel the same way and i have no clue why this song is one.

  • I totally forgot this was in 7 pounds. I just watched the Legend of 1900 and it was used in just the right scene where he's walking at night and looking at the woman he loves. A great movie with an even better soundtrack.

  • this song is from the legend of 1900. It was used in seven pounds but it was first composed and used in the legend of 1900.

  • The first time I heard this theme was fantastic and the ideal for the moment on "Seven Pounds". Fantastic movie, very deep, the way to show to the world how love is important to live with... The moment touched me a lot.. If Love means to you anything, fight for it!

  • @macreal65 werd this shit makes me feel da same way yeo deadass

  • прекрасно

  • I heard this on seven pounds and it took forever to figure out where I heard it before .. I love the legend of 1900!!

  • wow.

  • just cant hold back the tears and this awkward feeling as if your heart is raped and torn in hundreds of pieces even if u havent ever been hurt ever....just by the gearing of this melody........asoltare-vivere-amorare.......<3

  • @Brulluhman ummmmmmmm what does that have to do with...ANYTHING??

  • @TheAlmightyFedora Your right, must have been commenting on more than one vid at the same time. :)

  • @Brulluhman haha thats ok :D i was just wondering XD

  • what else...

  • this is what was mad me sad at the end of seven pounds!!

  • Beautiful! <3

  • This song would be incredible to make love too...

  • This song would be incredible to make love too...

  • commovente..ma bellissima..mitico ennio morricone..

  • this crap is gay . no effence

  • the best song I've ever heard

  • FCO0710...The dissonance in this song...the sound of a wrong or an out-of-tune key being pressed...was sort of metaphoric in the movie, at least to me.. It is odd, as the 1900 character was. It gives the impression of being imperfect or fumbling, which 1900 was

in the area of love & romance.

  • @walts1fan I completely agree. It was beautiful to hear how Morricone adapted this piece to fit the character, if that's what he meant to do.

  • bellissima...

  • I don't know that I like this song so much. The dissonance is a bit much for me, I'm guessing it represents something in the movie? Maybe someone can fill me in

  • Love this song...my favorite in the movie. Finally found it here...thanks for posting.

Beautiful and haunting. As noted below, this is heard during the scene where 1900 looks for "the girl" in the sleeping quarters.

  • anyone know what part of the movie this song plays in or if its even in the actual movie itself and not the credits?

  • the song is heard during what i believe is the most beautiful scene in the film. we see 1900 at the piano and then we see him walk into the room where the girl he loves is sleeping. he finds her and kisses her as she is asleep. she awakens but he runs away and she doesn't see him.

  • tyvm

  • during the end..mostly the whole thing though..

  • im pretty sure this person below me cringes because of how awesome it is....lol....but anyways..... here u go....

all yall suck that dont really juss wanna appreciate the song...and be like eww...u dont kno what the fuck dissonance is....

    dis·so·nance /ˈdɪsənəns/ Show Spelled[dis-uh-nuhns] Show IPA

    noun

    1.

inharmonious or harsh sound; discord; 2

a simultaneous combination of tones conventionally accepted as being in a state of unrest and needing completion.

  • This song is beautiful. It really is.

But every time I heard that third note, I cringe.

    I can't listen to it.

And yes, I know what dissonance is.

  • genius... the dissonance E# - F# :°)

  • AH FUCK!! Everytime I hear this song, I just cry like it's nobody's damn business!! It's that good! I usually never cry in this kind of shit, but Morricone made it so fucking beautiful!! *Sniff* And to those who don't like the third note, they clearly have no idea what "dissonance" is, which is what makes it so haunting.

  • The Legend of 1900 was an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL film with an an absolutely GORGEOUS soundtrack which INCLUDES this song (which was composed for THIS movie and only RE-USED in Seven Pounds).

You all really should watch The Legend of 1900, I am sure that it will make many people cry just as much, if not more than, Seven Pounds.

  • It's a great movie, I think Seven Pounds is better.

I love Tim Roth, though, but I also love Will Smith. I just guess that if a director finds this song to be beautiful, then they already have a good touch with the arts.

  • It's beautiful. It makes me want to cry.

  • same here this song is so beautiful :'(

  • i have the music for this song... actually i have all the sheet music for the entire movie

  • you should put some covers up of them because they are really pretty (:

  • aww, i lopve this song. its in seven pounds :')

  • I want this played at my funeral.

  • I'm literally in tears because of this piece of music. and i was in tears the first time i heard it during the film seven pounds.

that third note is FUCKING hilariously bad.

  • I guess asking for an acoustic guitar version of a song is against some unwritten youtube rule...I just like this piece and I am just curious to know how it would sound...I do not play guitar...and if you are not going to post a video simply ignore my comment and be on your jolly way...

  • What ship is that?

  • wow this song touches my heart...i feel that when i listen to this i feel like the first time me and my girl started dating.......and also when we broke up...

  • you are such an ass mate!

  • lol girls who care about big cocks have STD's anyways

  • just watched The Legend of 1900 again and the part where this piece is played.. my god, it's beautiful.

  • it made me cry while i was waiching seven pounds

  • n pounds

  • Where can I find tihs song? I wish to download it.

  • so beautiful it made me cry.

  • caught92 you rite.... ima hood nigga 2..dam

  • I know what y'all are saying and I feel you but damn if it don't sound mad ignorant.

  • word...lol

  • So many appreciate THE USE of this piece (by the incredible ENNIO MORRICONE) on the soundtrack of 'Seven Pounds'

But it was COMPOSED FOR a film by Giuseppe Tornatore, 'La Leggenda del Pianista sull'Oceano' ~ English language title, 'The Legend of 1900'

'1900' is the character played by Tim Roth, a child prodigy ON THE PIANO, born on a ship.

This piece is JUST ONE from a BRILLIANT film score ~ IGNORED BY THE AMERICAN ACADEMY for their "Oscars"

TRY TO HEAR MORE OF IT THAN WAS USED ON 7 Pounds

  • @HughHue i really need to see that movie!

  • @HughHue I knew it. I simply love the song. It's important to remember what purpose it was composed for, but just listening to it without a reason is a magic experience.

  • @clois95 ~ Hello Clois... Well, absolutely. I have a huge collection of Ennio Morricone (who remember has composed more film scores than Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry and John Williams combined). I have not seen many of the movies themselves. But I can still enjoy Music of an unmatched variety.

Morricone is increasingly being enjoyed without reference to cinema ~ many times his music is played in churches, as a uTube search will attest. THIS PIECE... strange the effect on one's thoughts, no?

  • @HughHue i saw legend of 1900 and it was amazing. its one of those movies when the happy ending works PERFECTLY

  • @HughHue - thank you for mentioning the movie, The Legend of 1900. I'd never heard of it and watched it based upon your recommendation. What a great movie! Storytelling at its absolute best! ;-) Gracie

  • @LouisDeLuca ~ Hey Louis! Glad you liked it so much... isn't the opening, when the 'huddled masses' wake, and it's morning, and there they can see Liberty standing high ~ isn't that great?! TORNATORE is a very underrated writer & director AND - like Sergio Leone - he has MORRICONE write his music first, and he shoots his movie to it

  • @HughHue what part of the movie was this score used on?

  • @mspdub09 Hello there (wherever) ~ SORRY not to get back to you sooner. Truth is: I don't know the original movie well enough to tell you which part, as saw it only once (so far)

  • this peace iz rediculous it speaks straight to the heart. and im a hood nigga.lol

  • I feel u on dat shit brah. I was watch'n 7 pounds & this piece played at the love scene part & a mahfuckha just lost it son! I tried to hold my shit in, but that shit just got to me & I broke as if I just had my heart broken. Damn! That scene, along with that piece son, is sum moveing shit.....belive me.

  • yeah man. i hear yah. i lose it everytime. its moving for sure. it touches the heart. lol

  • @macreal65 I have no idea what the hell you said. But I agree. lol My girl, well was my girl and i were watching this movie when she broke up with at that part. So yeah, I know what you mean about the beautiful heartache this piece holds.

  • @macreal65 Do you really swear in every sentence?

  • @PalaceOfExile Dats just my pannydee!

  • @macreal65 Pussy nigger

  • @DeutscheGesinnung Awwww come on now Dushenbagger don't be upset. I love white people.....esp white women. Just drink a glass of warm milk & lie down, you'll be ok.

  • @macreal65 ... in english?

  • @macreal65 dude i love you. non gay wise haha

  • @manlyman111 I know what'cha mean brah....& thanks.

  • @macreal65 You're words would have much greater meaning if you had used proper English, mate.

  • @Silent1Bane You know what my friend....You are absolutely correct. Thank you for straighting me up, without putting me down. And that's real talk.

  • @macreal65 You're quite welcome good sir. =]

  • it was are beautiful movie love this piece too.

  • what came first, this song, or "For Martha" by the Smashing Pumpkins?

  • for martha was released in 1996

    the movie in 1998

  • Yes! Simple and beautiful!

  • so simple - so beautiful.

  • calm down the music is the same

  • This song is nothing short of incredible. When I hear a great song like this I often want to hear it on more than one instrument. Too bad no one has uploaded an acoustic guitar version (probably because it does not sound nearly as good as it does on piano). In any case, could someone upload an acoustic guitar version of this song please.

  • do it then

  • 7 pounds was such a sad movie, I cry every time I watch it, this seriously added on to the effect of the movie, I favorite.

  • the button score of "seven pounds." exquisite!

  • i love emotional piano music

  • i would absolutely love how to play this on the piano!! love it!!

  • non ti dimenticherò mai Daniele.

  • I have never liked any song so much than this one... it's really gorgeous!
