  • that cat makes me lol !

  • Do you get the shooting pain into the legs? I have the nerve damage pain where it's sort of like you got baby alligators in yout shoes or you got a hippo chewing on your spine. Since I had WLS I try to only take liquid tylonal for pain. Now... I'm not saying that always works cause sometimes the pain is beyond a 10 but I cannot take a whole lot of pills so I play around a bit with meds.

  • @YankeeDiva I used to have the shooting pain into my legs REALLY BAD. Now that the pain has finally subsided, I'm just left with numbness and the occasional back pain for a few days. I sure hope you're doing better!

  • ello just found ur vid i currently have one and dead tired of going to Diff doctors although i do get to to see alot of cute doctors lol well it began when i was 19 and well it was pain but pure pain, i couldnlt even Wipe My Butt lol and its true it hurted so bad Any who i neither knew the cause of it until my doc said it was probably my weight so yea im pretty much waiting for the steroid injection and if that doesnt work then the surgery

  • Hi Melanie, I too have suffered from sciatic pain and can empathize with you. I am an interventional pain management physician who happened to come across your post by accident. I see patients suffering from this type of pain everyday. I am located in Florida at The Pain Management Institute. Please feel free to call my offcie and set up an appointment. The office number is 352-357-0668. I dont know your history other than the herniated discs, but I may be able to help.

  • You have the greatest sense of humor! Are you still having sciatica pain? I have had some success in getting sciatic relieved, but there are too many details to put here.

  • So sorry I'm just now getting to your comment. The sciatica finally got relief on the right side. Then in July I hurt myself at work lifting. Up until last week I've been down with sciatica on the left side worse than I've ever had it. But now i'm finally up and walking around more, MUCH less pain, and actually went grocery shopping for the first time in MONTHS! :)

  • I am glad to hear you are doing much better!

  • Your so silly I laughed so hard about the bottle opening thing.

  • I'm just now seeing these comments. How backlogged am I!?! lol :) Glad that made you laugh. Had to get some humor in there during a difficult time. :) I'm so sorry you didn't make it up to Sac last weekend! Would have loved seeing you. Hopefully the next get together we can all make it. :)

  • Who is the singer of the song? Is it Ray Lamontagne? You are already beautiful. Sal

  • It's called "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson. Sorry I'm just now responding. lol :)

    xoxo

  • Hi melanie!!! my name is Renee Im from manteca. I also have nerve pain.. sciatica. My doctor has perscribed me a medicine called gabipentin. It REALLY helps ALOT!!!!!!!! just thought i'd let you know! good luck

  • Where are you.?????????//

  • NERVE BLOCK......

  • The physical therapist told me to do whatever feels right at the time...it was confusing, but it really did work. I recommend physical therapy, if you haven't already done it. Also, I find that when I go to the gym on a regular basis, I never have a problem with back pain...keeping your body limber is key!

  • I too suffer from lower back pain. I went to a chiropractor, but they can only do so much. I finally sucked it up and went to the Dr. where they x-rayed me and gave me pain medications that did not help. The also prescribed me 6 weeks of physical therapy, which does help. In PT, I learned how to bend the right ways when lifting objects, as well as other exercises that will help prevent back pain. Also, the chiropractor told me to ice my back, and the Dr. told me to heat it...

  • Sorry to hear your in such pain..I have back pain as well with arthritus is my lower spine...This may sound weird at first but I lay on my stomach on my bed with my ars and shoulders dangling off my bed for atleast 5 mins

This seems to help me..:)try it!

  • you need to go see a CHIROPRACTOR...its the only true way the healing can begin...and im not gonna lie..its gonna hurt like a bitch the first few times..but it will get better...pain killers, muscle relaxers etc...are superficial relief and will only help to temporarily ease your pain and are meant for short term use. What you have requires a longterm remedy of the underlying issue. Your sciatica will only worsen if left properly untreated.

  • wow. here i am searching for the symptoms you just mentioned and i find that i am not alone. But, I also find that there isnt a quick easy fix. Its been a 1 and a half months now, since the sciatica started, im on the brink of loosing my mind. I would love a good night sleep without waking up feeling like i have been kiked in the ass. lol. good luck to you! all i found is some stretches and Ib Profin. Im out of codine and the inflamation pills were not as good as the constant alcohol.

  • I hope you feel better

  • Hi melanie. I hope you are feeling better. you've not posted another video. I miss you, you are so funny. Did your surgery get approved. I hope you are doing well.

  • I have alot fo lower back pain.. and i use heating pads.. HOT HOT baths.. and liquid codeine..Muscle relaxes work good too..

  • I have sciatica my back hurts sometimes but mostely my legs go num. first it was my left one then my right one.Sometimes both go num and also my arms are starting to go num.I have missed some work because of it.I have scolosis to went P.T but my excerices don't really help. I'm opened to and comments or suggestions.I'm the only one in my family to have sciatica. I'm only 18 so some days I wished that I could take the pain away.

  • I had sciatica too. People who haven't had it don't know how bad it can be. My doctor gave me prednizone, pain pills and a muscle relaxant. She ruled out disk problems. What helped me most was making sure I was keeping my back straight whether sitting up or laying down. It also helped moving, gentle bending and strengthening the muscles in my lower back that give support to the spine. Laying around and sitting on my crappy computer chair made it worse. Good luck, hope you get some relief!

  • I had a bad back, bad disc was in TERRIBLE TERRIBLE pain for about 8 months, nerve pain running down my leg. Tried it all, PT, cor. shots, etc.. Orthopedic surgeon is the only person that could help me. My surgery went GREAAAT, he took out several pieces of bone that was no doubt laying on my nerve, it was immediate relief. He saw my MRI ordered surgery right away...NO TROUBLE SINCE, thank you God. Quality of life was going down hill getting depressed, lots of prayers to you, don't give up.

  • check out my video under herniated disk tutorial i am going thru the same thing i havent been to work for weeks because i am the same way - cant sleep stand ly down walk - do anything no one understans the seriousness unless u been thru it. go to a neurologist and get an mri and see what they say

  • Hey, I have ciatica. Heat aggravates it, cold makes it worse for me, and pain pills don't do more than dull it. Anti-inflammatories and rest are the only relief I can find and even then it's very little. Fortunately for me the pain is not at it's worst every day and I can function most days. There are shots available for some very temporary relief and there is a surgery for extreme cases.

  • Oh la la la la !!! I have no idea. you post that video with a lot of humour, but I believe this is far from funny. Take care Melanie !! Hope you'll feel better soon !!!

  • Mel, I have a sure-fired way to beat this. 20 minutes with ice, then 20 minutes of heat, then 20 minutes off. You need to take 2000 mg of calcium per day and take the muscle relaxant (Flexeril) with ketoprophen (Orudis). Three people with herniated bulging leaking discs used this and it helped. Trust me! The heat/cold/off shocks the nerve into normalcy. I'm praying for you!

    ~Margo

  • Print ... newdisc into the space bar... you can see what helped with the 7yrs of pain. Hope you feel better!!!

  • oh ya and sith baths help to. Just take a hot bath and add about a 2 cups of epsons salt. Calms the nerve down a lot.

  • I agree with 3fold. I had horrible pain and it turns out that i had a bulged disk and a perferated disk, which means that it was leaking its nucleolus all over my nerves. They found out from my mri that that was what was happening. Nerontin is a good drug for nerve release and also you can get a shot of tortal which only works for like 8 hours but wow it relaxes everything and i feel better for awhile, good stuff. Anyhow good luck sorry your in pain I know how that is.

  • i've had back pain like this for the past 3 months. i've tried everything. finally had an MRI and found disc bulging, fracturing, and degeneration. went to a neurosurgeon. now i've been having spinal injections. they help a lot! email me if you want more info.

  • My spinal injections were short lived. I have heard they do help about 50% of the time, lets home you are one of the lucky ones. I tried everything and surgery was what worked for me, I had NEVER had surgery was SCARED TO DEATH, but my quality of life was going DOWN HILL, I was in constant pain almost wheelchair bound so I was ready after about 9 months for surgery. I had always been healthy but fell and ruptured disc, I still have bulging disc but nothing like the pain I was in. Good Luck

  • I have 2 bulging discs in my upper spine. I've had 3 spinal epidurals - they inject cortizone directly into the spine. Those procedures combined with physical therapy have helped tremendously!!

  • hey ..i actually have the band and have a herniated disk....hummmm

i remember the traction table helped a lot....

    take care

  • Just wanna say,you are so cute! I like your vids...you got lots of talent.God bless u!Feel better.

  • I suffered from this through out my entire pregnancy, and still have spells. Laying down on my side with a THICK pillow between my legs and then slightly, and slowly stretching while lying down helps relieve the pressure. Ohhh... BTW.. the exercise doesn't hurt as much if you take a flexorall first!

  • Hey mel, sorry to hear about the pain, i have had this only not aas bad in the past, i have found that bed rest, anti inflamitories, sleep and hot showers and heat packs helped me, praying you will get better soon

    Lin

  • My chiropractor is the only one who can help me when this happens.Good luck!

  • Yes chiropractor is GOOD, oh helps so much

  • Girl...I feel your pain. I suffer every day with pain from my Rheumatoid arthritis...Sucks, but I think the best thing would be ice and a massage therapist. Hope you feel better.

  • Also I am very into taking hot long baths but the heat apparently makes the pain worse..Not sure if you take baths but my chiropractor said showers only and to not stay in the hot water like that until the pain goes away..

  • I have the same issue.. the chiropractor is the only thing that helps and it takes a long time...took about a month before i could walk straight again.. then i went and messed it up again by helping an elderly person to the bathroom... now im walking all hunched over and crooked again... Ice really helps .. Ice in the car.. I drive a lot so I ice in the car 2 hours on 2 hours off.. I do that at home ... too..No fun.. hope you feel better soon!

  • I'm sorry you are in such pain. My mom has sciatica too. I don't think it is as bad as yours but I know it really sucks. I hope you feel better soon.

  • Every major pain I've ever had... surgery, neck injury from a car accident, the WORST tooth ache ever and a lifetime of back problems and some sciatic troubles... none responded to the "hard" stuff, but gimme Ibuprofen 800mg and I'm a new woman! I'm never without them ;-) Always works like a charm for me. Hope you feel better very soon. I know how awful that can be.

  • chiropractor??

  • good to see you again, I missed you!!!!!!!

  • I have back injuries from two different accidents. They have me on three different meds for mine for pain management. What they have me taking is a combo of Ibuprofen 800 mg, Gabapentin 300mg, and Zanaflex 4mg. I have to take these three 3 times a day. It's killed the pain. Side effects, blurred vision, sleeping all damn day, can't drive, can't do much of anything I'm so drugged out, and was in physical therapy. Pain didn't go away with that, so meds were the next option. Good luck. -hugs-

  • i will see what my dad and cousin says next time I see them...they are docs :o) ... more specifically Chiropractors (not the wacky kind...the legit kind!) :o) I have never had a bad back :o) EVER if I get a pain I get an adjustment and its perfect! If only people were as lucky as me to have unlimited chiropractic treatment for free!! :o)

  • I know when I had sciattica pain when I was pregnant the doc said there's nothing they can do and you have to fight through it.
