Berkeley 1967.....Haight-Ashbury just across the pool....loads of acid.....freedom...hitchhiking to anywhere from anywhere.....free love for "fully-tuned" people......rock and roll music.....transfixation with ideas and fervent exchange of them.....its so long ago.... i wish I was born in 1945 or so...this can never ever happen again...Why the fuck????....Love this album....Check out Section 43 - this is CJATF in full acid swing.......Greetings to Joe, Barry, Chicken, Bruce and David.
@UJ96LFA You got it, man.I was in Madison, Wisc. in'67. But I had a lot of friends in the Bay Area. I'd thumb from Mad City to Berkeley. Sell blood at Alameda County Blood Bank. Have apple juice, eat 2 cookies. THen it's across the bridge to SF General.Repeat blood deal. More juice & cookies. $45 in blood money & down 2 pints of blood. Thumb across GG Bridge to Tamalpais. Drop 200 mics on way up mountain. Trip for 2 days (low blood). Then back to Madison and philosophy courses. The'60s!!!
i love this band ...they are always flying high in thier songs ja... all the way ! :D pleasure to find good stoner music instead of crapy reaggae or rap...ja
They were, and still are one of my favorites from 1967 til now, and it in no way diminishes my love of reggae--nothing did, until reggae started sounding much like rap, in the mid-80s.

If you like this music, you should check out "Steppeulvene" especially the songs "000" and "Dunhammeraften", psychedelic rock from the 70's...

1967: $3 for a concert.... saw them many times in San Diego; rebels with only a few causes: peace, love & feeling good....

it was only dollers back then, becuase things were less expensive, plus a good pay was like 50 bucks back then..
brakspbfun 3 years ago
@califbaby1969 It was $1.25 at the Avalon Ballroom in 1967, but then again, we were much closer to the center of the vortex.

Barry Melton along with James Gurley(Big Brother)are the unsung innovators of the San Francisco Psychedelic guitar sound.

No I was looking for it too. Unfortunately not enough respect is given to Barry Melton so no one has tabbed it out yet.
