Look up nearspace or weather balloon launches. My friends did something just like this, except with cheaper cameras. You put a GPS unit in a box and go chasing after it. There are wind pattern calculators for predicting the landing area too, ours traveled about 20 miles.

this is impossible, because due to the EXTREMELY low pressures of that altitude, the camera lens would shatter, the wood in the chair would slowly split apart, and the cloth (or whatever the chair is made of) would puff up like a balloon due to the air gaps in the cloth, only thing that might stay is the balloon, because the inside pressure is pushing out, equalizing the pressure differential.

@TheUmmm126 That... Isn't correct. The porous materials (fabric/wood) let air escape and pressure equalize while the balloon is actually the thing that ends up bursting because it is air tight and has a pressure differential. The camera lens wouldn't shatter because it's solid with no gas pockets.

This isn't related to what you said, but it is pretty damn cool:
