I am teaching my son to swing left. I am sure you all will see his highlights on youtube in the next few years. I have no idea why more people don't teach their kid to swing from the left side. 2 feet closer to first and would face 90% more pitching from right handed pitchers.
@TouchEmAllBaseball No doubt! The first thisng I told my wife when our biy was crawling was I will teach him to swing left. I am actually thinking of teaching him to throw left and right. HA! May be tough though.
@TheMySideproject i'm knocking you on what you are talking about but just the kid pick up a ball first and just let him do what feels natural to him. don't force him to do anything when it come to baseball. if he is right handed so be it.
@926giants Knock all you want. Everything is learned except speed, in this game. Does anyone naturally know how to throw a curve ball? No. Does anyone naturally know how to throw a change-up? No. You also have to teach proper mechanics. Most dads ( I am assuming you are one of these) improperly teaches kids at a young age. It is highly unfortunate because not only are they ill equipped when they get older, it also makes for a "great" time having to re-teach them for us high school coaches.
Hey do you honestly think Leftys' have an advantage in hitting such as angles, all that stuff? i've heard a lot of things about Leftys', just wondering. Thanks.
@DjSmash5 well they have the advantage in a lot of areas over right handed hitters. First there are a lot more RHP than LHP so that helps them over a right handed hitter who has to face a lot of right handed pitchers. Whenever there is a man on 1st base they have the advantage of having a large hole on their pull side because the 1st baseman will have to hold the runner on. And with regards to left handed hitters with speed they have the advantage of being closer to first when they leave the box
Hey what do you think about lining up the knuckles when batting? Because idk how many times ive heard that lining up the knocking knuckles is the way you have to hold the bat.
@ajs1850 That is really funny that you just asked that. I just made a video yesterday about how almost all Major League players do not line their knocking knuckles up. I will be putting it up here at some point in the next few days.
@wogdoggy I never said you transfer your weight and then swing the bat. The transferring of weights happens during the swing. I was just breaking down different parts of the swing.
@gsandhu92 I will try to put one together for you. I have a lot of requests from people and I'll be trying to get to as many as possible as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
transfer weight? a weight shift swing? shift THEN swing or shift TO swing..huge difference..dont believe me? read ted williams interview with mattingly...ted was WAY ahead of everyone..dont believe me try this..whip the bat with ALL ur weight on your back foot ..then whip the bat with all the weight on your front foot...what has better bat speed..the front foot BLOCKS momentum it doesnt set there for you to swing around it...thats a weight shift swing..you dont shift the weight and then swing
@TouchEmAllBaseball first of all i dont want you to think I'm trying to start a fight with you I'm just here to share ideas and i suck with a keyboard too so have patience...the weight does come off the back side but alot of its from your hands moving around to the front of your body .you dont want to teach weight transfer.once the bulk of your weight is on the front side your thru..the bat slows down and the swing is done.the front foot blocks ..the weight doesnt shift to the front legthen swin

You've confused me...I said your weight needs to be transferred off of your back side and into your front leg.
